Now I don’t know about you guys, but currently at uni it’s coming up to deadline/exam/show time. I feel very stressed and overwhelmed at the minute, so found this quote very relatable. Hopefully it will relate to some of you too! 😋
This one's to the last school exam I'll ever write, that I'm going to study for 😣😖 I can't wait until it's over, yet I'm terrified of what lies beyond, but as Tolkien said, "Still round the corner there may wait, A new road or a secret gate." #final#exams#oftheyear#tonewbeginnings#theworldahead
Many of you will have medical/dental university interviews coming up over the next few months. First of all congrats! 🎉 Its an achievement to be selected for interview from such a high-standard and competitive pool of students, so *pat on the back* 👏🏻
Having sat on the admissions interview panel at Barts SMD for 3yrs, and taught/tutored students to help them prepare for the last 6yrs, here are my top three #InterviewTips for Medical interviews: 🤓
- DO NOT memorise your answers: it’s a conversation, not a speech! And for conversation to flow naturally, you need to be able to think on the spot and somewhat improvise.
- DO prepare! Have a structure in mind for how to answer the most common interview questions, plus their variations. Best way to do this is to have bullet pointed lists in mind of things you want to mention for each answer.
- DO dress the part. You may think it goes without saying but, having seen hundreds of students over the years, it really doesn’t! Dress smart, dress professional and, if you’re not sure what that means, DM for advice! 👔
Whilst it can be a daunting and nerve-wracking process, it’s also such an exciting time full of great opportunities. If you want more detailed advice, or are interested in my online interviews course, or one-to-one interview prep, tuition and mock interviews, get in touch! We are more than happy to help 😀 best of luck!
PS- if you didn’t get an interview, panic not! There are lots of backups and alternative routes that can be considered, DM for advice! And if you are yet to hear back from places, focus on dedicating your time to all your endeavours, especially revision and exam prep. And be ready for the interviews when they do roll in! 📚
I get a lot of questions about this and so I just wanted to share a little more about me!! I am currently a student at the University of Memphis and I plan on graduating with a degree in Business Information Technology in December of 2020!! Which is technically a semester early for me because I try to take summer classes as well so I can get out of school! 💙🖤
