Tis the season for sweet potatoes! Did you know that you can choose foods that will naturally balance out your body’s constitution? Take me, for example, I’m an airy type of person. On a good day, I’m full of energy, creative, ambitious and resistant to change. Ha, I’m like the wind! But on a bad day, I’m anxious, overwhelmed and I lack structure and discipline so life is just chaotic...like a wind storm! Can anyone relate? So here, I’m eating to drive down some of my “airiness”, a term that is called “Vata” in Ayurvedic teachings. Hence, my beautiful vegetarian dish tonight! Sweet potato stuffed with quinoa, onion, fennel and Italian seasoning with steamed beets on top. Very grounding and gut supportive...Sigh... 😋😌💜 #eattolive#ayurveda#eatforconstitution#lotusevolutions#holisticliving#organic#nongmo#yogalifestyle
Food from the Gods 🙌
Thali is a very popular dish in several states of India. Is served on a banana leaf (Manipuri style) or in a metal plate. Thali includes the 6 different tastes of sweet, salt, sour, bitter, astringent and pungent in one single plate. It is served with rice and roti (“bread”). In Ayurveda this is considered a perfect balance of tastes to nourish all the six tissues (dathus) of the body. . #blueberrybunchhealth#ayurveda#ayurvedafood#ayurvedalife#thali#india#healthcoach#foodforlife
Join us for this interesting and informative workshop!
The weekend is set up in a way for us to expand our understanding of anatomical structures and their inherent bio-mechanical wisdom. In this way, we will attempt to deepen our overall yoga practice by freeing our physical structure through in depth understanding of its components, and how they come together to create an overall ecosystem of integration. This is a great way for both practitioner and teacher to sharpen their understanding of anatomy, and how it is approached through the practice of yoga.
There will be discussion and experiential opportunities for tangible structures of the body, as well as the energetic integrity that ties them together. The idea of what “alignment” really implies in the realm of yoga, and it’s application in the everyday moments of life will be discussed.
This weekend workshop seeks to offer you:
Depth of anatomical structures
Energetic body application
Real world application art of sequencing versus choreography
Implementing play into the practice that is in line with bio-mechanical function
Let us explore together and refine our understanding of the vehicles we travel through life in!
This training is in collaboration with Breath and Flow please note location information below.

My life feels like it’s going a million miles a minute right now. My autumn has been filled with so much- perhaps too much- travel, trainings and exams. To be honest, some mornings I wake up and forget what city- or state- I’m waking up in.
When life gets busy it can be difficult for me to stay balanced, which is why I’m so grateful to have the ancient and oh-so-applicable-in-today’s-world teachings of Ayurveda to support me in maintaining my health and wellness.
The last few months, I’ve had to very consciously focus on grounding and balancing my Vata and Pitta doshas. Vata can become imbalanced when we have a lot of movement (physical and emotional) and travel in our lives. Pitta dosha can become imbalanced when we’re using a lot of mental energy and focus.
Considering that I’m in the process of completing 3 teacher trainings (200 & 300 hour yoga teacher trainings and hot Pilates) in 3 cities in two states, it’s not surprising these two doshas are being impacted.
I travel with my InstaPot and Vitamix so that, no matter where I am, I’m able to at make myself healthy, nourishing meals that feed and ground my body and mind. Today’s lunch and dinner menu included kitchari made with red lentils, red quinoa, ghee, @banyanbotanicals kitchari spice blend and kale. I enjoyed it topped with my favorite cilantro chutney, avocados and black sesame seeds. There’s nothing like a tasty bowl of kitchari after a physically and mentally demanding day. 🥰
I love making my own products. The Active part of my cleanse starts tomorrow and I am getting all the things prepped. This is my dosha-specific Nasya oil. This Ayurvedic cleanse will be the first time I use the neti pot! My bestie uses hers all the time! Anyone else love using a neti pot? #ayurveda#nasyaoil#oilymomma

I’m falling in love all over again with this medicine, a blend that’s been one of our most beloveds for a couple of years, an ancient recipe.... 🧡 Tonight I made a Golden Latte (recipe below) and shared it with a friend who was visiting. After a while she asked, “What magic did you put in that drink!? I literally feel like I sat in a hot tub or a salt bath!”.... 🛀 That is the magic of Turmeric, especially when it’s carried in ghee. 🧡⚱️
Golden Latte, aka The Hot Tub: make a cup of your fave coffee or coffee alternative (I used @jnantiksuperfood - it’s available in our shop because I love it so much) then blend/whip with 1 Tbsp Golden Healer Ghee + sweetener of choice (I used raw honey) .

Arthritis... No one told me that getting out, even when I was afraid, would help with the pain itself. Fear can come from worries about how bad the pain will be, but amazingly, if we can choose really great company and find some comfort in the environment, even with some pain it can become more bearable. Finding some friends to reconnect with and doing something fun is a part of a healthy yoga for arthritis. This is especially true if you can spend some of the time outside or in more natural places.
Fica a dica.
Food glorious food. During my three weeks at the Ayurvedic centre I stayed at in India I simply enjoyed eating, wholesome nourishing real food, well balanced and easy to digest. Calming music played in the dining room and a beautiful light hearted energy infused all who ate, cooked and served there. I ate slower than I usually do and noticed over time I ate less but more enthusiastically, I became more aware of the taste of food and I confess I did on more than one occasion whisper sweet nothings to my food to my food such as “I love you” 😂 I’m a firm believer in eating real food that is easily digested and suited to your body type and that we also should enjoy our food. Unfortunately food has become a big head trip and is even being replaced by strange powder like substances in shiny packets... nothing can replace the wholesome goodness of nature’s perfect design. This was one of the place mats at the centre to remind us there is a lot more to health than tolerating things we don’t like just because they are “healthy”. So if you haven’t whispered “I love you” to your food lately.. something is wrong 😂 #nutrition#food#health#wellness#balance#ayurveda#vitality#digestion#love#foodromance#ayurvediccooking#truehealth#keepitreal
👁️ What are the first 3 words you see? Comment below. 👁️
Together, we’ll use these as a guide for a meditation on gratitude...
1️⃣ Choose the word that resonates with you most. The one that you feel you'd like to embody.
2️⃣ Write that word down. There is power in setting pen to paper to create a physical reminder of this personal quality.
3️⃣ Sit in a quiet room with your eyes closed and your piece of paper in front of you.
4️⃣ Begin by expressing gratitude for yourself—giving thanks for that trait that you chose and the ways in which it has already manifested in your life.
5️⃣ Now, move your gratitude toward the people you love. How do they express this trait? How do you see it manifested in others?
6️⃣ Extend your thoughts of gratitude toward other things in the world that you have a tendency to take for granted. Whatever pops into your mind at this time, be grateful for it. ♥️
〰️ When you come out of this meditation, keep a heart of gratitude throughout your day as you continue to reflect on that chosen quality that shines through you and those around you.

Setting aside a sacred space dedicated to meditation can be a powerful way to deepen our practice. 🙏
In creating a comfortable, inspiring space, we invite mind, body, and spirit to relax in the present moment. When we step into that space, we release stress and tension as we seek clarity, unity, and awareness. ✨ Crystals, colors, and music can help create an ambiance that encourages calm and contemplation.
These tools can help:
🔸Deepen meditation practice
🔸Help to achieve a specific outcome
🔸Raise consciousness and awareness
🔸Enhance intuition and insight
This type of space doesn’t have to be large, elaborate, or expensive. Just a few special objects placed or incorporated with intention can have a profound impact on the quality of our practice. 🧘

Real growth takes time. 🌱
Lasting change requires patience and self-compassion. ➡️ We have to be willing to put the time in. We have to be willing to wait.
It’s in taking our time that we’re able to develop an appreciation for the journey. After all, if it didn’t require an investment of our time, our energy, and our sustained effort, we wouldn’t understand the value or weight of our transformation. Instant gratification doesn’t require anything from us. There’s no sacrifice, no struggle. ✨
Patience for this type of growth is a form of self-love. It takes work. It can be frustrating and we may take steps backward as we move closer to the truest versions of ourselves, but ultimately, we forge onward out of the conviction that we’re worth it. 😌
A longer journey means more time to process, to integrate, to acclimate. We’re able to look back and track our progress with gratitude and pride.
👉 Save this as a reminder to practice patience

♥️ Meditation changes us. ♥️
A regular practice not only transforms our outlook, our sense of calm, and our connectedness to ourselves and the world – meditation has the power to change our physical bodies. 🧘
Some of the effects are immediate, while some take time to establish, but with sustained and committed practice, the body responds, mirroring the emotional and spiritual healing we experience as we regain balance in the entire being.
The controlled breathing we bring to our practice helps train more efficient use of oxygen throughout the body. 🌬️ By bringing calm to the entire mind-body system, we reduce stress and anxiety and improve the quality of our sleep. Alleviating stress on the nervous system helps reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol.
