Today’s Tea Trivia: While Catherine of Braganza (Charles II of England’s wife) introduced afternoon tea to the court upon her arrival in 1662, popular opinion indicates that it was, in fact, Anna Maria Russell, the Duchess of Bedford, who truly transformed it into a light mid-afternoon meal. During the 18th/ 19th century in England, a time where the luncheon was only just created, people were still left hungry and unsatisfied due to the long, empty gap between lunch and dinner. It was around this time, however, that Anna Maria Russell discovered a light meal of cakes or sandwiches, accompanied by a pot of freshly brewed tea, was the perfect combination for an afternoon refreshment, and soon began to invite her friends to join.
Largest stump ever ground with my portable grinder and most difficult to get to. 91" sequoia stump surrounded on all sides by lake, , building, deck and hillside. Beautiful day to grind and quite a view.
I had to carry the grinder down a hillside but it was worth the workout! Videos coming soon

Today’s color correction this client came in today with a lot of color banding. Caused by direct dyes (manic panic ,arctic fox etc) & spotty root areas from her at home bleaching. (I wish I couldve gotten a better before picture to show it off more ) moral of the story is ...3.5 hours later = baby lights then bowlyage /root smudge /toner /treatment & a haircut 💇 🥵 she is on her way to natural EVEN color & healthy hair ! For those who just looked at this picture and thought it was just a “ color” you stand corrected ! You can’t just cover the mistakes without them peeking back through ! It’s very important for the best results equals more work ! the more color lapse over color the more damage ! = unhappy hair! put in the time & effort ! It’s worth it ! And simply put I CANT HALF ASS HAIR it’s not in my DNA 🧬 #pdxcolorcorrection#colorcorrection#pdx#pnw#portlandhair#pdxhair#lakeoswego#westlinn#sellwood#tigard#oakgrove#tualatinoregon#bowlyage#babyelights#rootsmudgebalayage

Never settle for good enough.
ALWAYS always always go the extra mile in everything you do and when you’ve “done enough” ask yourself “is this the best we can do?” striving for more every day.
I knocked out this beautiful remodel owned by a local mortgage titan. He had lights already that were just box store lights; no perfect fitment and definitely nothing special about them. I explained my process and why my product is vital, needless to say he told me not to do just the front and that he needs lights 360 around the house. This is definitely one of my favorite so far! Ready to get @mteehee08 out for some photos!
I still have time to do your lights! #christmas#professionalchristmaslights#lakeoswego#pdxrealestate#pdxrealtor#portlandrealestate

Road closed ahead...please detour using alternate route.
If you opened Waze, Google, or Apple Maps over the holiday weekend you inevitably got this message sometime during your day. No one stopped their car at that point and gave up on making it to their destination...they simply took the detour and worked their way around the problem to make it there. So why on Earth do so many people not take this same mentality with regards to their health and fitness?
We have a number of Forge members over the age of 60 training every day. Ask any one of them if the route to get them there was straight and without barriers and they will literally start laughing! Life is not a linear path so why do so many people expect their fitness to be free of setbacks?
Our expectations for our health and fitness are so often skewed by what we see on TV or social media, we somehow have forgotten the path to get there is never direct. If we are in that traffic jam on the highway we take the road-closure detour without really hesitating. We end up at our destination and don’t hold onto any anxiety or anger that we simply had to take a different road to get there. It should not be hard, then, to apply this to our health and fitness.
We are humans...life happens...cut yourself some slack if the path detours. You want to put up a PR on your barbell bench press but are battling shoulder pain with the bar? Check your stubbornness and ego at the door and take a fitness-detour over to the dumbbell rack and work around the road block. You had your hip replaced or a spinal fusion and can no longer back-squat like you did in your 20’s? If your ultimate goal is to get stronger and not measure egos (which if that’s the case...good luck longterm), find yourself a functional alternative to measure your strength with like a 1:00 max meter row or a trap-bar lift.
Detours happen and you won’t make it to 80+ like Alice and her crew here if you keep trying to deny them. Get out of your own way, take the detours and scenic routes when the come, and roll through 8 decades like a badass! Who knows, you might even make your fitness destination in better shape and health because of it!

While we have a day off to make sure the turkey is perfect, the pies don’t burn and the kids eat something green...please take a moment to give thanks to those in our community and abroad who are away from their families and working today to provide all of us this opportunity to gather. Everyone knows The Forge Family runs deep and wide across military, police, fire and emergency service teams. To all of you, and on behalf of our entire Forge Family, THANK YOU!!! #veterans#army#navy#airforce#marines#police#fire#ems

Citrine & natural sunlight together producing an actual light show in my hand. I am love simple moments like these where time stands still and I am immersed in magick.
