I wish I was getting to keep some of your orders that have been going out over the last few weeks. Some of them look so good in their frames 🤩 I’ve made a note to myself to take proper pictures of the prints before they go out in future 🙄

Treasures from the Racks, Interior Light III by Anja Percival
Anja is a printmaker, and Isfascinated by the different atmospheres that light creates in our environment. “During my time living in Denmark, I was hugely inspired by my foreign surroundings. My work became influenced by the more ‘urban’ scenery within which I lived. After a relocation back to Durham at the end of 2009, I’m still very interested in depicting urban spaces that are infiltrated by different qualities of light.
My colour palette is relatively subdued… I feel that strong colour would detract the attention from the subtle tonal variations within my imagery.”
This piece measures 30x30cm and is £180, mounted ready for posting or your own framing. Remember you can also shop online at www.mashamgallery.co.uk/shop #mashamgallery#masham#yorkshiredales#northyorkshire#visitmasham#yorkshireartists#artcurator#artinspiration#onlineshop

Each year the Pantone Colour Institute (the Worldwide authority on colour) selects a ‘colour of the year’. It’s a snapshot of what they see taking place in our global culture.
The colour for 2020 is Classic Blue and according to the Pantone Institute is described as ..... “Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era”. I think they’ve got that right!
I love blue, one of my favourite neutrals as it can be paired with most other colours. You’ll see it brightening our high streets for Spring!
If you are wondering what shade of blue ‘loves' YOU, why not get in touch and join me for a Colour Consultation in the New Year and find out for sure.
Express yourself in a different way with COLOUR! I would love to help YOU.

Happy Full Moon 💛 the last of the year, and the decade!! You may all know about my Moon cycle earrings by now 🌕🌓🌒
I launched them this time last year at Christmas Fairs and loved how they were loved!! I am now making them from eco silver and they sit nicely with the recycled and ethical ethos I am implementing in an area of my jewellery. My Moons are planet friendly and yes probably the Moon impacted my decision!!! You can read more through the link in my bio, and find them and similar friends at my LAST Christmas Market of the year this weekend @whitesykefields
See my stories for details!! #truecancerian#ledbythemoon#makewhatyoulove#christmasmarket#ecojewellery#york
What's the weather like where you are this Monday morning? It's so mild here in Britain... feels strange not slipping and sliding on icy pavements. And as for a White Christmas - Bah humbug! Not a sausage is forecast. So let's click our clogs, and hope for views like this beautiful shot from the snowy 199 Steps at Whitby, Yorkshire by @dennisbromage
Known as the 199 Steps, this is a special place for many reasons, chiefly as the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. The 199 steps rise to the East Cliff, up which that naughty Dracula, in the guise of a black hound, ran after arriving in Whitby. Which is a bit daft if you ask me as you can scoff some of the finest fish and chips in Britain down there 🎣🍟 Oh well, his loss.
If you stand on the pavement outside the Royal Hotel on Whitby’s West Cliff and look out across the harbour town as the sun goes down, you can pretty much see, in their entirety, the early chapters of his famous story. Across the bay, in the shadow of the half-ruined abbey, sits St Mary’s Churchyard, where Lucy Westenra was attacked by the vampiric count.
It is the same view that Stoker himself would have seen, aside from one or two modern flourishes, over 125 years ago. Real history, of course, goes back much further. The earliest record of a permanent settlement is in 656, when as Streanœhealh it was the place where Oswy, the Christian king of Northumbria, founded the first abbey, under the abbess Hilda. The Synod of Whitby was held there in 664. In 867, the monastery was destroyed by Viking raiders...and in 1078 another one was built in its place.. now in ruins thanks again to - yes, you guessed it, the reformation when beautiful places like this were stripped bare by 'orrible Henry the 8th. However, all is not lost - there are lots of walls still standing and it's a most impressive sight.
Even though it's Monday - wishing you a happy day. Lovely shot by @dennisbromage (thanks to Dennis for the special permission to use!) 🇬🇧 To be featured, follow and tag us. 'Ta! 🇬🇧
