As mothers (and women), we constantly put other’s wants and needs before our own. When it comes to our children, we sacrifice selflessly to provide for them and there is no greater feeling than doing so. This patient was always self conscious of her smile and never had the opportunity for braces growing up. After raising her kids, she finally had the time to invest in herself and do something that she’s always wanted. I am so proud to share this case because I feel like it represents a victory for all the mothers out there. Giving yourself a renewed sense of confidence at any stage of your life and whatever that looks like for you, makes all the difference and is important. This patient started with 100% overbite as seen in the last photo. The malocclusion was causing tooth wear and chipping, as well as supereruption of the lower anterior teeth 👉 notice the occlusal step. I started her with Invisalign to provide a healthier bite relationship as well as align the teeth. After Invisalign, she still had a tooth size discrepancy and some worn edges. We completed bonding on 3 teeth and incorporated the Smile Shape procedure to recontour her existing teeth to provide better symmetry. Can you tell which 3 teeth we bonded? .

Digital x-rays have allowed us to make your experience better by reducing radiation exposure by up to 90% (yes, you read that right). They have also provided faster exposure times, hopefully helping your visits go faster (if we can get Dr. Whiting to quit talking). And now, with this new toy, we won’t even have to leave the room when taking your x-rays! Flossing must be done properly so that when you reach between teeth, you actually get to the food and germs that are stuck there. Ideally, use a piece of floss up to 18 inches in length, allowing you to use a fresh area of floss every few teeth without reinserting bacteria and particles you just removed. Keep in mind the floss should rub against the teeth in a motion that creates a forward or backward 'C' shape, wrapping the floss around each tooth.
