I might have laughed more than I should have... the fact that cardiovascular heart disease is the leading cause of death in this country is no laughing matter.
However, it's reality of what's happening. The typical western diet is literally killing this country. Most people in the US don't smoke, primarily because of the direct link between smoking and increased changes so cancer, and other illnesses. If that's why you don't smoke... why would you continue to eat meat? Not only is it wrecking your health, gives you an increased chance of heart disease, cancer, and more, but it's also wrecking the planet!

Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows:
An Introduction to Carnism
We found this book on Amazon and thought we would share it with you.
The book is by the author Melanie Joy. She explores the invisible system that shapes our perception of the meat we eat so that we love some animals and eat others without knowing why. She calls this system carnism.
Carnism is the belief system, or ideology, that allows us to selectively choose which animals become our meat, and it is sustained by complex psychological and social mechanisms. Like other "isms" (racism, ageism, etc.), carnism is most harmful when it is unrecognized and unacknowledged.
Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows names and explains this phenomenon and offers it up for examination.
Proud and perpetually tired mama/human.
Still feels so weird to call myself a mom, especially when I'm out alone. I don't *feel* any different as a mom, per se, even though I feel lots of feelings all of the time due to becoming a mom... When people say "motherhood is hard!" no, that's not the case. Becoming parents has been so easy for @christefano and I. It's everything else that's hard; lack of support, lack of $, lack of sleep and grief. Those things are hard. 🤷🏻♀️ 📷@christefano
Take a little break, hide from the world for a bit, and recharge today for tomorrow and the following week. Maybe I’ll read a book, work on sudoku, or binge watch Dr. Who.

I’ve been involved in so many different fields and careers over the course of my life and this account is definitely a reflection of that. Thank you for sticking with me guys!
Life can be so exciting and so tough as well at times.
I’ve always struggled defining what I’m really good at and what I really want, things kept changing. And they may keep changing so I just have to embrace it.
I know for a fact though that returning to my long lost passions for acting and writing is very fulfilling to me, and hope to bring a lot of beauty and value to our world through those arts and forms of self-expression. ⭐️ What are your passions?? Comment below! ☺️❤️

ANNOUNCEMENT / GIVEAWAY 😁🥦🥑🍑🍓🌱🐾
I am going to be speaking at London @vegfestuk on Sunday 27th October. My talk will be about the concept of veganism, from a scientific perspective, but extending to all aspects of your life; from showing compassion to all beings (including yourself), diet, fashion choices, low impact living, and lots more. I would love to see as many familiar faces there as possible. SO I have teamed up with VegFest to do a ticket giveaway!
The giveaway is for 2 x weekend tickets! 1 for yourself and 1 for a friend!
To enter all you have to do is:
1. Like this post.
2. Comment tagging a friend you want to take with you (tag multiple friends for multiple entries).
3. Ensure both you and your friend are following @roxythezoologist
4. For an extra 5 entries, share the post on your story.
Giveaway closes at 11pm on 29th September.
Winners will be announced on 30th September.
This picture was taken in a matter of seconds. Why? Well, even tough she stood on the other side of the fence, my mum was so terribly afraid of the cow that she couldn’t even bare looking at the phone 😄
Anyway, I am currently missing my cow-best-friend and hope to see her again asap. Whole point of this post is: it is going to be my birthday soon, anybody want to get me a cow? Please? 🐮❤️ #cow#herbivore#cowsofinstagram
In the moment this photo was taken, I felt tremendous joy and light after teaching a beach yoga class (flag pole in my backpack), diving into the ocean, and frolicking in the sand with my sister. Days later when I saw the photo, I felt as though a thief had come and taken away my joy as I picked out all of my “flaws” and deemed this photo un-postable.
Thinking of my younger self, it is easy to wish for what my body was like 2 years ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago... But guess what? I wasn’t happy with my self then. And no matter how much weight I lost, the negative feelings would still exist (perhaps for every lbs lost the negative self-talk got louder).
The past few months, instead of wishing for my body to be different, I have been praying, “God, may I feel safe and at home in my body.” And He is changing my heart in vast ways, taking down walls of judgement and shame and freeing me to experience life in new ways.
I have come to abide in a peaceful realization: I am happy my body no longer looks like it did when I was 16, because I am not 16. I am 24. I am a women- what a gift. My body is ever evolving and I am content, resting in Gods love.
