An exciting holiday option close to the city yet set inside a world of it's own is the Rajaji National park, Uttarakhand. The picturesque beauty and rich biodiversity of the park are a major attraction for both nature lovers as well as wildlife enthusiasts.
Rajaji National Park of India spreads over an area over 800 sq km and is open to visitors from November to June each year.
The park combines three sanctuaries, Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji and is spread over the Pauri Garwal, Dehradun and Saharanpur districts of Uttarakhand.
With many natural streams, Rajaji has a huge wildlife. Elephants, Tiger, leopard, monkey, barking deer, Sambar deer, wild boar and other antilopes roam freely here.
Apart from this a whopping 400 varieties of birds can be seen inside the park.
While at Rajaji, you can enjoy your holiday at Shoolin Jungle Lodge. Shoolin is one of its kind wilderness boutique hotel located 10 kms inside the park. Shoolin offers ten rustic cottages furnished in unique retro style. Each cottage has an attached toilet and a sit out. #Repost@sa1i1 (@get_repost)

We spent the last weekend at a wetland near Pune catching up on some incredible birding
We saw 100s of flamingos, different kinds of cranes, raptors, ducks, gulls.... The Indian subcontinent is the largest breeding ground for the migratory Greater flamingo and Lesser flamingo, they come to India every winter.
They are more accessible than you would think

from @rhinoafrica "We watched five cheetah cubs creating a riot while their mother constantly kept an eye out for danger. One of the cubs was constantly trying to climb this tree, but couldn’t get any higher than this. Eventually, it would just slide down comically." - @sachin_rai_photography, photographer.

Number 2! This was our last day in Tarengeri. This bull’s tusks were not particularly impressive at all but the sheer size of this bull was so impressive to us. Absolutely massive and was amazing to be around. You couldn’t help but appreciate his presence. What would be your favorite from our Tanzania series so far?
