Throughout high school and into my mid-twenties, I did very little to take care of my body and
mind. I used to not even care whether I lived or died. I drank, smoked, and partied every day with no thought toward my future. Now, I want to live forever and feel amazing because every
day is precious. Health and fitness have transformed my life completely. Exercise is something I
can’t live without and I want to help others achieve that same mindset. Thanks to my lifestyle,
I’m more positive, motivated, and happier than I’ve ever been my whole life.
I find extra motivation to be at my best when I think of all the special people in my life that
didn’t get a chance to realize their potential. I’ve lost a lot of loved ones over the years that
didn’t get to live their full life. My brother Jason passed when he was 18, Mom died in her early
30’s, my girlfriend Julie at age 26, my other brother John at 43, and many other friends/family
far too young. For all those I’ve loved and lost, I owe them to live the best life I can because
they didn’t get to.
Editing Note: Julie was 26 when she passed, not 23 like I mistakenly said in the video. If she
were alive today, she’d be more than happy to point out what a dummy I am. And she’d be
right. There you go...... a week of celebrating mum's birthday, my parents staying with us, meals out, picking nuts and booze.
Do I regret it??
Not one bit! I've made some lovely memories I will cherish forever.
Its only 3lb. I can say goodbye to that next week with a little focus and effort.
I am however annoyed with myself for having jumped WELL put of target, and struggling to get the consistent weight loss to get back there.
This is the reason why I went along to an afternoon group today, weighed in and faced it. So i can begin on making the change NOW.
I knew if I didn't, my terrible choices would continue until Saturday.
So back to Food spamming you, back to planning and back to my free food food optimising focus
That’s an Altoid (for perspective) beside the tiny little pill that keeps me functioning every day. Because I’ve been taking it since 2014, I hadn’t given it a thought in years.
Until a few weeks back.
As soon as it hit my tongue, I knew it was wrong. It had a petroleum sorta taste and smelled even worse. I’m an optimist at heart, so I figured it was just the one... and forgot about the horribleness until it was time for the next dose.
Honestly, it took me several days to realize this was a real problem. By then, I was starting to feel those old hypothyroid symptoms creeping back: being tired all the time, short-tempered, an inability to focus and make decisions.
You’ve probably already guessed I wasn’t going down without a fight, and I didn’t. Instead, I loaded for bear: took them back to the pharmacist (whose options were limited until we had more info), called my doc (who really wasn’t much help until we had more info), contacted the manufacturer and my insurance (who was actually a little helpful). The most help came from a couple Facebook groups of folks who have hypothyroidism. I learned it wasn’t just me, that there had been issues across the country in recent months. There was a reporting mechanism in place.
I dug for more info — my pharmacy really stepped up here — and contacted the manufacturer again.
And I’m pleased to report that they’ve replaced the vile meds with the earthy-smelling and-tasting ones I know. It took a few days, but the symptoms are subsidizing.
All that’s to say this: you are the CEO of your health. If you know something’s wrong or even just “off,” or the doc won’t listen, find a new one. This is especially true for folks with thyroid issues, but I know it applies to other conditions.
Speak up, educate yourself and keep pushing for the care/meds/outcomes you need. Because it matters. Because YOU matter.

🔺Buen día para tod@s!! Me paso rápidamente a dejarles una receta infaltable entre mis preferidas!!
Most people existing without living.
Sometimes you need to stop for a minute, and think of your purpose? Why you are here? What do you want in life? Where you want to be? Dont just flow, make your life count
Who? ME?! I had a friend ask earlier this week if my life feels calm and collected.
A N Y T H I N G but that these days!
I love an active schedule and I love a busy life but some days it feels like I’m barely keeping my nostrils out of the water to keep breathing!
Aren’t we all starring in our own version of a crazy-life drama?
I’ve struggled to process that question since it was asked of me. I was able to answer it quickly and enthusiastically after I stopped laughing.
But I’ve struggled personally with the possibility that I’ve somehow put that impression out there.
I’m not a surface person and I don’t believe in faking or doing things half-way... I believe life is meant to be lived authentically, in community, in the moment, and spent loving others.
There was a time I thought I had control over my life or most of it. God continues to show me daily, and with each new season, that He is in control and I, most certainly, am not!
If we had the chance right now to sit down over a bottle of water (Boring maybe but I don’t do coffee... 🙃) and chat - I’d be the first to admit that life is hard, and many times feels chaotic and that I don’t have it all figured out or put together. But we serve a God who is sovereign.
As we settle into a new chapter and a new community and pretty much new everything - I’m so thankful for God’s grace and the gift of a couple friends who are living in the hard and being real with me daily as we trust God and His promises for what He will do in the future - for us and for our children!
Don’t compare your real, unedited life to someone’s photo-shopped news feed!
Be real, be you and give grace - to others and to yourself!
I don’t pretend to have it together but I do trust God - thankful that He knows and controls all.
Calm and collected? No.
Trusting His promises, even in the chaos? Absolutely!

Shout out to my partner in crime for getting an unexpected “exceptional performance” bonus at work! After 11 years of marriage, I still don’t really understand what he does but that’s because he’s too much of a smarty pants for me to understand. 🥰 Something about modeling. 🤣 #engineeringjokes#hubbahubba

So that thing we’ve been talking about… you know, the thing that could change your life if you gave it an honest effort… How’s it going? Is it uncomfortable? Maybe even a little painful?
If it’s not yet, it will be soon. And you need to be prepared for that: you need to be able to work through that.
Because the best stuff — the results and rewards and hoopla — are on the other side. But you have to WORK THROUGH the uncomfortable to get there.
You can absolutely do it... IF you don’t give up!
Remember why you chose this path and this thing. Bring to mind the results you’re after — and how you’ll feel when you get there.
And then get busy. You’ve got work to do. 💕

I feel smug about not cleaning the house while my kid naps- why clean when you could be experimenting with a chocolate microwave muffin mug, sipping coffee in the sun and reading a book?! Sad that now cleaning the microwave is on my to-do list but no regrets! !
Now if only I could do all of this AND have a clean house.... #dreaming

❤️I’m a BIG fan of Olive Gardens Zuppa Toscana Soup🍲 but I HATE how it’s loaded with high fat, lots of carbs, and sodium. This healthy remake is fabulous! 🙌Check it out!
Zuppa Toscana Soup🍲
Makes 4 servings
Each serving provides:
4 slices turkey bacon
1 ½ pounds Italian chicken sausage
4 cups cauliflower (cutting florets in half is necessary)
½ cup scallions
4 cloves garlic
4 cups chicken stock
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 cups kale
1 ½ cup reduced-fat plain Greek yogurt
3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Drain any grease, set aside. Add the sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks. Once the sausage is browned and crumbled, remove sausage and drain of any grease leaving a Tbsp to sauté the scallions, add to bacon.
Add the scallions to the pan; sauté until translucent, add garlic, sauté until fragrant. Add the bacon and sausage back into the pot. Stir in the stock and cauliflower, season with salt and pepper and simmer for about 10 minutes or until cauliflower is tender.
Add kale and yogurt. Bring to a simmer. (not a boil). Top with Parmesan cheese when serving.
Two years ago, we were celebrating 40 years of God’s blessings to our church family. #perimeter40th What a glorious celebration! 🎉🙌🏼 As we move through this week when we’ll install our next lead pastor, I’m looking back and remembering 42 years of God’s goodness to this body of believers. 💕
Since year 18, I've made friends, laughed until my gut ached, cried tears of joy and loss, grown and been challenged, and worshipped well. (And grown a killer t-shirt collection!) Since year 21, I've known my best friend and we've journeyed through life as a team.
Since year 26, we've raised our family in godly community with others who love them almost as much as we do (and sometimes tolerate them far better). And tonight we will worship and remember and cry and laugh -- all because God brought one man and one woman to Atlanta to plant this precious church in 1977.
Today was hard. I had to pause to rest more than I wanted to.. but I’m reminding myself that this journey is about me becoming the best version of Caitlin that I can be. Quitting won’t get me anywhere close to where I’m going so I’ll keep going and get that much closer with each day that I do the hard things.
Push yourselves today friends. Remind yourself that it’s about PROGRESS not perfection. This can be hard for some of us as we’re recovering perfectionists🤦🏻♀️

Take extreme ownership of your body, your health and your mind 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼 😁 Health is a choice.
One Day or Day 1??? I am crazy excited to share with people what I have learned about toxins and inflammation in our bodies. Our 30 day program has taught me so much. Today, I am launching into a 90 day clean eating challenge. I am SO THANKFUL I have learned to listen to cries of help my body gives. I haven’t gained any weight back...although I still have plenty I want to lose...but I have started having migraines again the last couple of weeks, my wedding ring is uncomfortably tight (sign of joint inflammation!), and I have been having increased anxiety. I hear the cues and ready to give my body the break it needs. Stay tuned for the best before and after pics you have ever seen!! No pressure! 🤣🤦🏽♀️😬

This morning I wanted to share with you two of my favourite sustainable items.
My #bumblebee necklace + #earrings , not pictured are made by @alexmonroejewellery and were a special birthday gift from my husband 2yrs ago. I truly love them and ware them almost everyday! My favourite t-shirt+ I do have others from this brand, is from @rapanuiclothing I also love this t-shirt but I don't however, wear it everyday! 🤭 This is not a paid advertisement. it is merely to make you aware of two companies I support and the reasons why.
__ It's more than just the "look" of the items, its what they represent. I love nature, the #bees + #oceancreatures , but theres more to it, it's about theses two businesses + what they stand for. Both are givers, not just takers, they both give something back, each in different ways, but one thing they both do is, they support + care for the environment.
I am not going to sit here and tell you my wardrobe + jewellery box contain nothing but sustainable items, because they don't. What I will say is, I have become much more aware + careful with my choices now, as a consumer. Aware that what I buy has an impact in some way, shape + form. A low-waste journey does this to you, it teaches you to be more mindful.
There is a lot of waste when it comes to clothing + jewellery, when I say jewellery, I mean the jewellery that you can easily pick up for a couple quid, wear once or twice + if you lost it, u wouldn't be bothered. Same goes with clothing. Its shocking how much of this ends up in landfill!
Take a few minutes to look into how bad this wasteful behaviour is and how it impacts on our planet. It may make u think twice before paying for your next purchase.
Ways to help avoid items going to landfill + save you money = 1) only buy what you need 2) borrow clothing from friends or family 3) swap clothing with your friends 4) always give unwanted items of "anything" to charities, including animal charities. Your unwanted items help shelters feed + care for animals in need. 5) invest in quality rather than quantity-for clothing and jewellery.
Don’t let perfectionism cheat you out of starting. Or continuing. Or even re-starting, for that matter.
Remember WHY you decided to pursue that goal, and just do today’s portion. Not the whole thing... only the bit that needs to be done today.
Packing a healthy lunch beats the drive through. Doing 10 minutes of your 30-minute workout is #winning . Even opening a new spreadsheet and naming it “budget” is better than not taking action!
Maybe it would be “better” if you had done it yesterday. Doesn’t matter. Do it today so your tomorrow is better.
No matter what you’re after, doing SOMETHING about it is always better than doing nothing.
Drop a comment and let me know what step you’re taking today. I’d love to encourage you!
These boys of mine. Was so excited to hug my middle this morning and congratulate him on his first game being a goalie. I was so sad to miss it but loved getting the updates from my Dad that he was the “most fearless and talkative goalie he’s ever seen.” 🤣⚽️ And then there’s Levi. This kid. He used to love basketball but got a little discouraged and quit trying. I didn’t catch what was up and thought he just wanted to focus on soccer but after a heart to heart this summer, he decided he wanted to try again. After being cut from 2 select teams, I got to FaceTime him from Chicago this weekend to tell him his hard work had paid off and he’d made the team he just tried out for. His bravery and courage to keep trying makes me one proud Mama. Goodness, my cup overflows.

Our society wants to do the easy thing, the thing that brings instant yet momentary satisfaction and happiness, the thing that feels good. We are free to make our own choices, but we are tied to the consequences of our actions. .
We are free to swipe credit cards, or use AfterPay, but we must repay our debts long after our things are broken or have faded away. We are free to eat fried, nutritionally poor foods every night, but we must deal with the health consequences. We are free to purchase endless clothes and buy new outfits every weekend, but we must deal with overflowing fast fashion wardrobes and an earth crumbling under the weight of waste. These are easy choices to make but hard consequences to face. .
Living wisely is making tough choices with consequences in mind. Choose to save money so you can always be generous in hard times, so that you can provide for those around you. Choose to reduce, reuse, recycle so that you can lessen the impact on the environment. Choose to eat veggies so that you can fuel your body to do fabulous things in the future. Choose to be kind to others, because life is hard enough already. These choices aren’t always easy, but they’re always worth it. ✌️

Your mindset is your choice.
It can be changed , developed and grown.
Set a weekly intention tonight🌟.. This week I will become aware of my mindset. Becoming aware of your mindset is the first step. Take it this week 🤗🙌🏽💛.
There’s a lot wrong with our world, our city, our neighborhood, even ourselves. (I’m certain you’ve noticed.) And yet... the good is there, too. And sometimes the things we think are good turn out to be something else entirely.
That’s why you should test. Take your time. Use the brain you’ve been given.
And when you find that good stuff... hold tight. Share. Give thanks.
My son has a plastic toy clock, and is constantly setting it to match our digital! .
I love watching kids minds learn, try new things, and get excited when they figure something out. .
Plus I love teaching how valuable time is. We all have the same 24 hours in a day, it’s how we use them that determines who uses the time wisest. .
We have priorities. We plan different. Some people schedule, some people fly with the wind. And there’s no perfect or wrong way to do it, you do you. But what we all need to remember is to value our time. .
When someone takes time out of their day for you, thank them.
When you have to say no to something don’t feel guilty, remember it’s your time.
When someone is counting on you at a certain time you said you’d be there, value their time too and be on time.
When you have time to give someone, give graciously and know they’ll appreciate it. .
Time is the most valuable things we have, because it can be gone in a moment.
So live each day as though it may be your last! .
Forgive those that hurt you.
Apologize for your wrongs.
Tell your loved ones you love them.
Go see the person you miss.
Hug your kids an extra time.
Call and tell your parents hi.
Send a note to a friend.
Appreciate every moment.
And most important, get your heart right with God and commit your life to Him. He’s the only one that knows the day and hour when our time on earth is up, don’t wait till it’s to late. Place your trust in Jesus today, the clock is ticking.

I don’t know about you, but I seem to run into a lot of people who apparently didn’t get the “attitude speech“ from their parents... or maybe it just didn’t stick. .
The way I see it, you can change at least 85% of your circumstances (and that’s probably a low estimate) with a good attitude. Even better? Your positivity will influence those around you, which further increases your chances to change things for the better. .
So whaddya think: Is attitude just who you are (you’re born with a certain outlook), or can you control/determine/change your attitude?

Throughout what seemed like the longest winter ⛈ whilst the body has been covered in clothes and struggling with injury - the training still went on.....finally....a hint of warmer weather 🌞 and VOILA! 👍 The body is still in great shape! How do you act with love? There are so many ways we can act with love. Maybe you act as a mentor for someone else, or maybe you give reassurance and encouragement to someone who needs it. Perhaps, you listen with compassion, and give someone support while they are going through a difficult time. Maybe you speak with honesty while being understanding of someone else’s feelings. Maybe you praise the good behavior of someone while showing them how to make more wise choices. Maybe you show someone you trust them when no one else has, or perhaps you talk about something good you see in someone that no one else sees. From giving hugs and high fives to giving of understanding and compassion when it’s not convenient, there are so many ways to act with love. How do you act with love?
4th Industrial Revolution ☄️ Let’s move from the linear economic model to the circular economic model!♻️
In the circular economy, “throwaway culture” is replaced by reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink, i.e. products are used several times, and materials are recycled in new products. In the circular economy, optimally, no resources are lost, but materials retain their value, and nothing is characterized as waste.
Plastics is a good example of a resource that should be reused and recycled to a much greater extent. Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues on our planet. We need to stop burning and exporting plastic waste by ensuring a much better sorting and investing in research and technological development on how to recycle more and better.
With The New Plastics Economy initiative, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation aims at creating an economy in which plastics never turn into waste. Importantly, this initiative is fact-based and builds on strong partnerships across society.
Most companies, especially medium and small businesses (SMEs), lack knowledge, skills, networks and capabilities to reap the potential benefits of circular product design, production processes and business models. It is a challenge for SMEs to incorporate the circular economy into their core business and strategic management because existing networks, culture, and knowledge are based on linear business partnerships. At the same time, it is a challenge for SMEs to realize the business case in applying new circular business models and technologies.

Which option do you choose? [swipe 👉] next time you decide to use a plastic bag.... this is what happens as a result of poor waste management. This is a recent video from an unknown location in Croatia.
➡️ In today’s world, we have all become more aware of environmental concerns than ever before. We are facing a rapidly growing population and rapid urbanization all over the world which has led to the production of an unimaginable global waste that will soon suffocate our planet. According to a report published by the World’s Bank, the amount of annual global waste will soon reach terrifying numbers as it is expected to increase by 70 percent on current levels by the year 2050.
➡️ Bad waste management, in combination with heavy pollution and waste of natural resources, will soon lead to the destruction of your natural habitat on planet Earth. We have already been able to notice the changes our environment has suffered because of reckless human actions. The world’s garbage management has led to imminent environmental concerns for the ocean life, climate change, and poor quality of breathable air. Therefore, reducing global waste production and recycling have become two of the priorities of countries from all around the world.
〰️ It’s easy to blame certain countries. However, this is a global issue and we all must work together to find a long-term solution. 🙏🏼 #reusereducerecycle

WE NEED YOU👊🏽💥 We’re glad to introduce you our new campaign against coffee capsules: #IAmACapsuleKiller ! Just like straws, plastic bags or bottles, they are very harmful to the planet 🌏
It is our main fight since 2005, but still many people are using them daily, thinking they are being recycled. We want to spread awareness about this massive waste, as it’s already the case with plastic bottles, straws, etc. If you wanna join the campaign, here are some killer facts you can then share with your relatives & your community! ☺️☕️
➡️ Every day, 2.3 billion coffees are consumed worldwide, and many of them are made with aluminium & plastic single-use coffee pods. This massive waste needs to be stopped. Drinking coffee should no longer be harmful to the planet.
➡️ Around 10 billions of yearly capsules consumed
➡️ = 40 000 tons of aluminium waste, which is like 4 Eiffel Towers
➡️ One 250g pack of pods produces 10 times more packaging waste than a 250g roasted or grain coffee pack
➡️ 1 ton of aluminium produced is 4 tons of waste coming out as red mud containing titanium, iron oxide, aluminium oxide, silicon oxide, chromium and some cadmium.
➡️ Aluminium coffee pods take 150 to 500 years to decompose.
➡️ If we added the pods consumed in a year all together, we could take 10.5 trips around the earth. ⠀⠀⠀
➡️ Recycling pods is either impossible, or tough and not complete.
➡️ One year of Premium coffee pods (3 coffees per day), costs 7 times more than one year of grain coffee.
➡️ 3 coffees every day = 1 095 pods every year

How the Plastics Industry Is Fighting to Keep Polluting the World 🌐💦🐢
A very interesting article to read if you wanna understand what’s at stake for the plastics industy and how industrials are responding the plastic crisis: ⠀⠀⠀
« The Recycling Partnership and other nonprofits supported by the plastics industry are using misleading information to ease concerns that otherwise might lead consumers to stop buying plastic. They’re trying to create the perception that there’s a viable way to recycle most plastic waste into new products and that’s simply not true. »
« At the industry conference in Texas, no one asked whether it was OK to keep producing more plastic. After the pictures of injured sea creatures were gone and an accountant spoke to the executives about how to best take advantage of Trump’s cuts to the top tax brackets, attendees learned about the bright prospects for their industry. Exports of the world’s most popular plastic, polyethylene, will not just continue, but will likely experience “healthy growth” over the next several years, as a presentation from the investment research firm IHS Markit explained. ⠀⠀⠀
Nor was there much question where all that new plastic will be sold. An increasing share is expected to go to Asian countries other than China, since the growing awareness of plastics pollution in Europe and North America may slightly weaken markets there. The only real question about the proliferation of a product we know to be heating the planet, amassing all around and within us, and poisoning water and air around the world, is what new techniques its producers will adopt to make it seem fine. »

#IAmACapsuleKiller ❌ Facts about aluminium environmental impacts: 😡
🏭 There are environmental impacts associated with each stage of aluminum production, from extraction to processing. The major environmental impact of refining and smelting is greenhouse gas emissions. These gases result from both the electrical consumption of smelters and the byproducts of processing. The greenhouse gases resulting from primary production include perfluorocarbons (PFC), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), fluoride, sulfur dioxide (S02), and carbon dioxide (CO2). Of these gases, PFC’s resulting from the smelting process are the most potent.
🌪 Primary aluminum production is the leading source of perfluorocarbon emissions in the United States. PAH emissions result from the manufacture of anodes for smelters and during the electrolytic process. Sulfur dioxide and sodium fluoride are emitted from smelters and electrical plants. SO2 is one of the primary precursors of acid rain. CO2 emissions occur during smelting and result from the consumption of carbon anodes and from PFC emissions.
🔥The atmospheric pollutants from primary aluminum production also produce acid rain when they mix with water vapor. Aluminum poses no danger of environmental toxicity when soil pH remains at or above 5.0, however acid rain lowers the pH of soil and forces aluminum into solution. This causes it to leach into the water supply where it can damage root systems and create acidified lakes. Due to its natural abundance, the amount of aluminum that enters the environment due to regular weather processes far exceeds anthropogenic contributions.
⛔️Large amounts of aluminum can be toxic to humans, but high exposure levels are typically limited to miners, aluminum production workers, and dialysis patients. While there is some evidence linking aluminum to Alzheimer’s disease, increased aluminum intake has yet to be a proven cause of the onset of Alzheimer’s. Otherwise, aluminum is not significantly bioaccumulated in plants and animals.
