Painting on the floor in this photo. Tonight I’m painting small works on the kitchen table. I use the easel for my canvas paintings. My preferred method of painting is paper pinned to the wall! How do you like to paint? Floor, table, easel, wall? 🖌

🎵 The sound of rolling dice, to me, is music in the air 🎶
More like the sound of candy going in my trick or treat bag!🎃 Oogie was definitely my favorite character of the treat trails 💚 I had a lot of fun at the party and we got to see everything except Villainous. Highlights for me:
•GotG – Monsters After Dark...completely chaotic and the best version of Tower/Fortress (don’t @ me)
•C A N D Y
•Frightfully Fun! I helped open it a few years ago in DL and it’s super cute!
✨What’s your favorite thing about Oogie Boogie Bash (or previous parties)??

Having the great honor of following you through your life events is the absolute best part of my job.
I made some signage for Liz & Drew’s wedding last Summer, followed by a few home decor pieces last Fall, and now this custom fabric banner to decorate their little girl’s (!!!) nursery.
For all the times I think I’m failing, or not good enough, or not keeping up, special pieces like this bring me back to reality.
Aaaaand it makes me cry just typing this. Thank you THANK YOU for inviting me into your lives and giving me so much joy and purpose. #gratefulheartshop

| I’m like Chardonnay, get better over time, heard you say I’m not the baddest bitch, you lie | — @lizzobeeating approaching my birthday in like 10 days and it’s giving me all the reflective vibes. Like what I should’ve done by now, or who I should be. But the reality, my reality, is each year I’m becoming so much more than I could imagine. Effff the notion of shoulds ! I am bad bitch 😉😂🙌🏼 Synthetic Opal Crescents coming for this update !

Don’t waste a minute not being happy! If one door closes, run to the next window, or break down the dang door! 🌈 •
I’ve been spending time in Kansas visiting my sis-in-law and niece, seeing the new house, helping my niece with homework and going to her soccer practices. It’s been wonderful.
As you tell — we’re all for pieces that are versatile without having to give up fun details! This little number makes for the cutest dress OR tunic. 🌟

Peaking through the wagon wheels spokes. Did you know that I am working on a grant funded solo show documenting 8 generations of women in my families stories of trauma? Thanks to @regionalarts Chasing Jessie Applegate goes up November @Ford gallerypdx I cannot express how important this work has been not only in the scope of my own life but for other women as well. I’m also excited to be working on my first full scale installation in several years and cannot wait to share it with you all.
Spent the day walking through Lisbon, taking in all the colorful facades and stopping to look at every single ceramic tile. 🇵🇹

Oh hey it’s me ! ✨
I’m Kate + this is my #booktruck ! I’ve had an increase in traffic here lately so thought it only polite to introduce myself 🌈
No this is not a franchise, yes I own and operate it all myself! (The answers to the two most common questions I get by people shopping on the truck).
I’m 26 and was previously a registered nurse working in women’s health/labor + delivery at a birthing center when I decided to open the truck 🍄
I love books (especially #kidlit )and have always enjoyed reading and hoarding books so I thought perhaps a career of this sort would be suitable. Turns out my hunch was correct and now I ride around in the cutest most darling little blue truck on earth (in my humble opinion) and sell books to delightful folks like you.
Otherwise I’m rather uninteresting I’m afraid. Some fun facts about me are that I believe Halloween Oreos are superior to all other variations, I see repeating 1’s daily, and pretty much everything else I ever thought was unique to me is actually a collectively agreed upon interment meme. 🤷🏻♀️
Now tell me a fun fact about you ! I love fun facts! ✨

Real talk: for a while there I wasn’t sure if #zerowastewednesdays was even a worthwhile thing because I’m not REALLY sharing anything new or groundbreaking, but this week I was reading something about how sustainability is generally only shown through the lens of affluent white childless women and hey! I’m only one of those things! Maybe I do have something unique and needed to offer here! Like how you can’t buy medicine with food stamps, but you *can* use them buy all the ingredients to make elderberry syrup to get ahead of the game and maybe not get sick in the first place. This was the easiest/cheapest recipe ilI could find online: 1/3 cup dried elderberries, 1tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground cloves (all three from the bulk spices at sprouts), and an approx 2” piece of ginger chopped as small as you can get it with 3.5 cups of water, instant potted for 9 minutes on high (I guess you could also simmer for 30-40 minutes), with 1 cup of raw honey added after its cooled and strained. Generally, we each take a teaspoon or so in the morning for immune support, and when we’re sick that goes up to 3-4 times a day. So stay tuned for more low waste x low income lifestyle content in my latest episode of “time is really just circular, isn’t it?”

I had Connor (my sweet husband) write a bit about what it’s like to love someone struggling with their mental health. Here are his words:
In understanding Jenna had a mood disorder, I didn’t know what do next other than to love in the best way I could. I chose to love. Really not easy sometimes, but always worth it. It was in the midst of mine and other people’s fears and negativities, that I realized truths and how to see through a different lens - Hope.
If I felt hurt, I’d hug. If someone told her “You are more needy,” I’d say, “You are not more needy, we all need the same things.” If we looked at each other and felt sad, we’d get up and commence redemption in one way or another. If she didn’t feel loved, I’d say “I’m sorry, just know that I do love you.” If she has an anxiety attack, I know to tell her it will pass, it won’t be here forever, and, out of all these words some of the greatest are: Everything Is Going To Be Okay. In building a foundation on something bigger than ourselves, Love never ends or runs out. I love my girl. She’s not her successes or failures, she’s not a statistic. She’s is more than that. We are all more than that.
We all have something that gets in the way of being able to love each other well. We may not feel like loving, but it’s always right
Donald Miller has many more well-known books, but this was my first one by him. I just needed it at the time. It ended up being a lot of what I wanted from Daring Greatly by Brene Brown but didn't get—a relatable story of someone who struggles with vulnerability and how they've been able to make mind-shifts to move past that. My biggest beef with it was that it was too short. It felt half-baked and it didn't have to be. There was a lot of good, refreshing material but it often stopped prematurely at the surface. I did feel genuinely challenged by this book, though. It's somewhere between memoir and self-help, but if you struggle with being vulnerable, forming meaningful relationships, and "public isolation" like Miller does (or like I do), you'll find his stories relatable, helpful, and healing. ...Maybe especially if you're a 3 on the Enneagram, which I am not, and which I could tell Miller was by the third page. I'm sorry, I had to say it. | ☆☆☆☆

Just one of the many ways I support my body during seasonal change is by applying a drop or two of this powerhouse immune support blend to the bottom of my feet everyday. I also love diffusing it—it’s vibrant, spicy, & freshening.
This blend consists of: Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Rosemary⠀
Research according to NBCI says:⠀
- 2017 study found that low concentrations of Cinnamon & Clove have high antimicrobial activity against certain persistent cultures⠀
- 2018 study found that vapors of Cinnamon oil inhibited the growth of certain respiratory pathogens ⠀
- 2012 study found that Eucalyptus oil had antimicrobial activity against two types of bacteria (E. coli & Staphylococcus aureus)⠀
- 2019 study found that Cinnamon applied topically promoted wound healing, reducing the amount of bacteria in wounds affected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa⠀
- 2018 study found that Eucalyptus oil promoted wound healing ⠀
- 2013 study found that inhaling Rosemary promoted brain activity, autonomic nervous system activity, lifted moods with its stimulating affect ⠀
Friends, there is nothing better than knowing our dear earth has been supplied with the natural resources we need to heal and survive. Let’s take care of the gift of life we have been given both internally and externally. With gratitude. Be well.

If I had the power to change anything with my mind, it certainly wouldn’t NOT be leaves. 🍂🍁🍂 Thankfully, I have photo filters and can save my mind-powers for more important things.
What trivial thing would you change with amazing mind powers?
New things are happening with my ever so loved keychains! I’ll be restocking them soon and you’ll have a few color options to choose from for the cord 👏🏼🥳🙌🏽
I’m always working on improving my items and making them better for my amazing customers. So as far as keychains go, that means saying bye-bye to twine and hello to a better option that will be stronger and make the life of your keychain last a whole lot longer!
I hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday, friends! I’m forever and ever grateful for your support and for every like and order! My hands are busy with orders and I’m so thankful ❤️ #melcreatesthings
Today I wore my hair in a top bun. Thanks to @saloncharismastyle for giving me the encouragement at my haircut yesterday, but I totally didn’t feel like myself when I looked in the mirror 😂 and definitely was like, do people think I look weird today? I always have my hair down, I literally never know what to do with it other than have it down. It’s kind of like when I wear glasses 🤓. I’m curious what your signature look is? Do you always wear jeans? Always glasses? Always dresses? Certain colors? I will tell you one thing, it felt freaking great to have my hair pulled back!
Went shopping @target for a burnt orange shirt to wear to the Texas game (hook-‘em🤘🏻), and came across so many cute items that I thought I would share my favorites fall pieces in my stories. I did find the shirt I was originally shopping for and can’t wait to celebrate my birthday by cheering on the Longhorns!

Do you ever sometimes worry that your creativity will get used up and run dry, like you have a finite number of ideas? And then sometimes you just let things happen and it comes out from seemingly nowhere? -

The hills are alive and I’ve channeled all my inner Maria into this new piece (on @fredrixcanvas 30x40” gallery Dixie Pro canvas). You can practically feel the sun and breezes. Anyone else see Sound of Music a million times? I think it’s one of the reasons I love painting mountains so much. I absorbed all Maria’s love for them over those many, many viewings ❤️.
