TGIF! As the majority of you are dragging yourself across the finish line this week, I imagine that many of you did so with the fantasy of sleeping in this weekend. While I can only speak for myself, I know that I promised myself lots of “catch up” sleep as motivation for getting through this week. But then I remembered a slightly inconvenient fact...that I will be forgoing some of that coveted sleep to get up early and drag myself across a different type of finish line. This seemingly masochistic action felt worthy of a blog. I hope you enjoy! theleastinterestingthing.blog #theleastinterestingthing#awareness#advocacy#caffeination
Por tempos durante meus estudos eu via que já era o único que acreditava, hoje, várias pessoas vem até mim perguntar como se consegue ter bons resultados nas provas.
Não desista, uma hora será reconhecido.
The #destruction we see around us, of our #values , our #culture , our fundamental #humanity , can feel overwhelmingly hopeless. The answer is to create; to create something of love, something of selflessness and something of courage. Big or small, this is our #resistance .

I had the most eye opening, deep and heartfelt discussion on interrelated topics: #stress , #mindset , #nutrition , #cancer#healing and #recovery with Alison Harris, Founder, Alison Harris Wellbeing! It went much further than what I could’ve imagined! I truly enjoyed our time on the show!
Do click on #linkinbio however, here is a tiny teaser! Those who’ve subscribed will be informed of new videos, and for those who haven’t, pray tell, what are you waiting for?

Posted @withrepost • @ntminfo Patients experiencing NTM infection symptoms often have a variety or even all of the following:
𝟏. 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 – You may or may not cough out sputum. NTM lung disease may cause you to cough up blood (this is called hemoptysis). If you cough up blood, contact your doctor or seek emergency help immediately. Any time you cough up blood, it is essential to remain calm and still to help minimize the amount of blood you cough.
𝟐. 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬, 𝐅𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 – You may experience some low-grade fever. The sensation of feverishness and sweating is commonly more prominent at night.
𝟑. 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝗪𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐞 – It is not uncommon to lose weight, which is why it is important to be aware of weight changes. Please consult with your doctor and/or a nutritionist to determine how to modify and augment your diet so that you get enough calories to maintain your weight at an ideal level that helps your body fight the illness and keep up your strength. Eat, eat, eat. The mycobacteria may compete with your body for calories. This website also has a nutrition guide and printable food diary.
𝟒. 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 – Many patients note a variable but often profound sense of fatigue.
Other symptoms of nontuberculous mycobacteria infection symptoms may include feeling short of breath, wheezing, and chest pain around the lung area.

American Heart Association volunteer advocate Jackie Ng-Osorio was in Washington, DC meeting with Hawaii's Congressional representatives to discuss three policy priorities: ➡️ Passage of a federal ban on flavored tobacco products (used to lure our keiki into nicotine addiction)
➡️ Increasing National Institutes of Health cardiovascular and stroke research funding
➡️ Passage of legislation to protect patients from surprise, hidden medical billing
Mahalo Jackie for also sharing your personal story of surviving heart disease with our legislators, and for taking time to make a difference in all our lives!

There are just two days left until the elections! We were glad we got a chance to end off this election campaign with a final interview with @citynewstoronto by @markmcallister - thank you for having us, it was awesome speaking to you about the election.
As mentioned in the video, we encourage all of you to get informed and vote. Part of the reason why we haven't stated who we will be voting for, is because we do not want to influence any of your decision making, and hope you can make the choice based on the candidate you feel will best represent your community! Use our "Beginner's Guide to the Canadian Elections", DM us if you have any questions, and make sure you vote on Monday - see you at the polling stations everyone 🗳🇨🇦

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORKS!⠀
Congratulations Dr. Tom Juergens on being named the September honoree of the Good Works for Horses Campaign! For the past 20 years, Dr. Juergens has traveled annually to Mongolia to introduce modern veterinary medicine to remote veterinarians and herdspeople to improve the health and wellbeing of the country’s horses.⠀
Dr. Juergens, embarked on his Mongolian service in 2000 at the encouragement of @christianveterinarymission. His goal was to train veterinarians in modern medicine and techniques as well as treat racehorses that compete under child jockeys at distances between 15 and 50 kilometers. To date, Dr. Juergens's mission has trained approximately 700 veterinarians in every province of Mongolia; some now teach at the country’s veterinary school, elevating the level of education for the next generation of Mongolian veterinarians.⠀

Today is Developmental Language Disorder Awareness Day! 🎊
Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is when an individual has difficulty learning and/or understanding language with a significant social or educational impact that has no known cause. 🧠🗣
Niagara Falls will light up in purple and yellow for 15 minutes at 10pm tonight, and the CN Tower will be lit up tomorrow in the same colours to raise awareness for DLD. 💛💜
A recent environmental impact study of the Strandir wilderness determined that hydroelectric power plants & dams would be bad for local people and the environment. ⛰️ Well, we could have guessed that, but it's great to have on paper, from the pros, and will help us in this fight. 📄
The Wilderness Warriors internship introduces youth interns, ages 15-20, to the human, natural and economic benefits of wildlands through direct exploration.
Last weekend, our Wilderness Warrior interns set off into the Pusch Ridge Wilderness of the Santa Catalina Mountains for a weekend of exploration and discussion of public land policy and advocacy. While swimming in Hutch's Pool, scrambling through side canyons, and conducting canyon tree frog surveys, Wilderness Warriors had discussions about access to and inclusivity in public lands. Thanks to our partners, @wildernesssociety , we were able to enjoy a beautiful 3-day weekend in one of the more easily accessible but hidden gems of the Coronado National Forest! .
A long one, but important- please read! Breast Cancer Awareness month is extremely important to me. On 10/21 I have reserved the Denver Beautycounter in the Dairy Block to celebrate my dearest friend's FIVE year Cancer Free milestone and to honor those we have lost to this dreadful disease. I will be donating a portion of every sale to BCCP.
BCPP’s main area of focus is reducing exposure to chemicals linked to cancer, including those found in beauty products. The organization takes a science-based approach to advocacy—publishing research papers, fighting for legislative reform, and teaching the public about breast cancer’s avoidable causes. One of the reasons I joined Beautycounter. At Beautycounter, we screen all ingredients in our formulations to make sure they don’t have links to cancer, based on existing scientific literature. And don’t forget that there lots of other simple and affordable safer beauty hacks, such as using coconut oil as a hydrating mask, makeup remover, and dandruff solution, or swapping olive oil for your skin moisturizer. The same goes for cleaning products. Use baking soda to scrub your tub, fresh lemon to make your faucets shine, or a mixture of one part white vinegar and three parts water for a countertop disinfectant.

In case no one told you today:
✨ You are deeply and profoundly loved.
✨ You are worthy. Regardless of your flaws, idiosyncrasies, oddities, quirks, and whatever else people may malign you for. In spite of every seemingly negative thing, you are still so damn worthy of every GOOD thing.
✨ The world needs more of you. The world needs you to take up every ounce of space you can muster - with your presence, love, beauty, talent. You do not need to shrink. There is more than enough room.
✨ Your mental health is important. Your life is important. YOU are important.
✨ You have one beautiful and precious life. And, I'm so fucking glad you're here. All 9k+ of you (seriously, wth? 😅) - I'm so glad you're here, that you're showing up, that you're reading these words and living this day in whatever way feels best.
✨ Please stay. I see you. I hear you. I believe you. I love you. You deserve better. More. All the good.
✨ Because you are all the good. ❤️
