Starry Night in Assiniboine
The core of the milky way is almost aligned in Assiniboine Peak. Not sure what planet is shinning bright on the edge of Wedgewood Peak, green and magenta colour in the sky called the airglow.
Awesome experience that night seeing the milky way in the naked eye with zero light pollution.

Our very talented staff @urnkerr.illustration illustrated this beauty on her break a couple days ago. We love it and we love Erin 🥰
Lizzie Rummel was born in 1897 into German aristocracy. Her incredible story began when her family came to Canada to spend time on their ranch in Alberta. When WWI broke out the affluent family lost everything back home in Germany and were left with their ranch in the foothills. Lizzie never married, instead she became an influential character in the Canadian Rockies, managing #skokilodge and @assiniboinelodge. In 1953 she bought the small cabin on the banks of Sunburst Lake in #assiniboine provincial park. ‘...In a way she was like Mount Assiniboine itself. She stood out above all around her - not domineering but like a beautiful spirit.’
Goal accomplished! Assinibione and back in one day! It was a dandy day to crush this goal! Left in the dark came back in the dark...12 hr journey with 2 beers, saw my padded friends and until I saw a bobcat! The tour was awesome but assinibione pass on touring gear is SO RAD, but super tight and very technical. I would tell people to stay away but if you can make it out there....you're ready!
The trek I did was from shark mountain to marvel pass to wonder pass to assinibione pass and back all the way to shark mountain! I highly recommend a lite touring ski with a bigger underfoot 80 to 90 for more control.
Dandy T2G IPA tasting note:
This Dandy IPA is full of different aromas and flavors! Such as tropical fruit of grapefruit, pineapple and orange citrus . Herbal notes of pine, weedy hops and grassy. Rounded out by a malty ceral and suddle floral notes! Overall this was a rad experience and very delicious!

Have you ever heard the planet,
Hold its breath before the storm.
Like an audience in wait
Before the curtains are withdrawn
It’s the gentle buzz of wild things,
Straining leaves towards the sky.
The steady thrum of wings
Taking their owners somewhere dry.
Then for a second it is nothing
But the beat of nature’s heart.
Until as though it’s lungs have burst
The grey sky rips itself apart.
And just like that the Earth’s alive
As it collectively exhales,
The wind whips through the trees
Whilst they all bend beneath its wails.
Then as the first drop falls
There is a gasp, and then a pause.
Before it seems the whole world breaks
Into a deafening applause.”

Looking for spring in the distance! ☀️ These pics from our annual Indian Summer Golf Tournament have us hoping that spring is around the corner! Good thing we have these shots to remind us what's waiting for us beneath all that snow!❄️
Despite the 3000 mosquitos hovering above my head, this was actually quite a pleasant evening.

„Reflected Time“ - Assiniboine Park, Canada 🏔
Fun fact: Back in the days I used to take every single photo with a long exposure. Crazy how fast those habits have changed in a timeframe of just over 3 years 😅 Always fun to think back to that time every now and then when I put my filters back on, pack my camera on a tripod and wait for at least half a minute for one photo. Has there been a habit you struggled to get rid of? 😄

“With the Autumn days come the long mornings of the best light. On our way down from catching sunrise we seemed to stop every little bit as the light changed. Lenticular clouds forming over Assiniboine in a magical scene with the larches.”

The storm has passed and the mountains are dressed in white again. As sad as I am to see the end of Summer there's something magic about seeing fresh snow on the peaks.

So stoked to have been able to visit this place again!! Awesome few days with old friends and new friends! Totally worth the aching feet 😂
You know you brought the right people when they are down to run 60km round trip with a bag. And cook you the most badass backcountry meal: fresh fish that they caught in one of the most beautiful alpine lake in our country (yes that one on this picture!). Also I am stoked they showed me how to fish and caught 3 fish!!! (No worries we only kept what we needed it!)
