SHOW & DISPLAY EXPLAINED
Many Hypercars like the McLaren Speedtail can not be registered in the USA but there is a loop-hole called the Show & Display Law, often referred to as the Show & Display rule. Let's focus on the McLaren Speedtail as an example. 106 Speedtails are being built and an estimated 35 are destined for the USA, but due to the three-seat layout meant that McLaren wasn't able to fit side airbags, which are required by law for any new car sold in the US. Additionally, the Speedtail has two retractable rear-facing cameras replacing traditional side mirrors, which also aren't legal in the US plus a mountain of other things which prevent the car from being registered in the normal way.
So, how do the Rich and Famous who can afford these cars get them registered in the US? The answer is the "Show and Display" rule is a statutory amendment in the United States that allows certain privately imported automobiles to be exempted from the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) if the vehicle in question is deemed to meet a standard of "historical or technological significance". The amendment, which became law on August 13, 1999, is intended to apply to vehicles that could not feasibly be brought into compliance with the FMVSS, and that do not have a federal counterpart that was originally built for the United States market. Because of the expense and effort required to import a vehicle with this exemption, the approved vehicle list is mainly limited to high-value sports and touring cars. Applications under the "Show and Display" rule are reviewed and managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which allows the vehicles to be registered for limited use on public roads (2,500 miles annually).
The approval for "Show and Display" import is granted if the prospective importer is able to show historical or technological significance of the vehicle in question, and if the vehicle was produced in limited numbers (with 500 being used as a threshold value.) #mclaren#speedtail#hypercar#hypercars#ferrari#lamborghini#koenigsegg#pagani#porsche#astonmartin#cars#auto#carswithnolimits#carstagram#carstagram#carspotting
The Bentley Bentayga has been around for long & sufficient time now, even though it still looks totally modern & sports a brand new design language.
With a plush cabin, Nappa leather & Exquisite wooden trims one cannot really imagine what other interior changes & Bespoke customisations apart from this can be done.
Said this, you might have had got a jyst of what's coming up. Yes, it's the rumours & spyshots of the new Bentley Bentayga based on the latest design language from Bentley that we are currently seeing in the Continental GT & the Flying Spur.
Perhaps, the new Bentayga should tick of many more boxes than before since this time it has to compete with even more rivalries & amazingly placed featured packed cars in it's category like the Aston Martin DBX, Lamborghini Urus & the upcoming Ferrari #purosangue SUV.
We expect the new Bentayga to get the 3-way mutli display rotating screen as standard for the interiors, redesigned cockpit to comply with current design language. The Bentley should also tweak the engine to bump up the power figures as well since this time The Bentayga will have a cut throat competition around in terms of performance figures, features & price tag etc. Perhaps, their should be changes & tweaks to the middle row as well since the Bentayga doesn't actually offer alot of leg room behind, which many clients expect after shelling out atleast 4 crore Rupees.
In our opinion, Bentley should offer additional add-on packages for the Bentayga like the Carbon Fibre/ sports package, the Holiday/ touring package etc to increase the versatility of their product.
