When you are in practice for yourself or you manage an audiology practice, it is very easy to get overwhelmed when you have a busy and overscheduled practice. You probably spent a good deal learning about audiology diagnosis and management that included fitting hearing aids. Now you may be faced issues such as recruiting, hiring and training staff, payroll, cost of goods, marketing, and cash flow, etc.
Your long-term success will depend on your ability to cut through the clutter and prioritize. Do you need help planning? I can provide training and coaching through my Growth Lab Program. Reach out to learn more!
Do you have needed systems in place? Are they working? During this month be sure to review your systems and the tasks you are completing. Do you have a system in place for lead generation and nurturing, tracking referrals, customer service, recruitment, etc.? Having the right systems will allow you to operate your business efficiently. It sure makes your business life a lot less stressful.
It’s the last month of the year. Was your business on target in reaching your goals? Do you have any planning activities that you do to close out the year? This is the time to get clear about where you are in your business, so you get to where you want to be in 2020!
Your website is a representation of you and your services. It could be your patient’s first impression about your practice.
Your website is where they learn about you as a clinician, your culture, your staff, products, services, location, your hours, your phone number, etc. It is extremely important that your website be “optimized” and your SEO is on the mark.
When patients search “audiologist in my area” or “hearing aids” you should come up in the first or second spot on the search.
In fact, this is exactly how I started my first auditory processing clinic in 2008. Jack Katz, PhD, wasn’t using his office on Saturdays and his waiting list was months long. So, over a tea one day, we came up with a plan that I would rent his space from him from 9am-12pm each Saturday while I did my first evaluations and saw my first clients for therapy. The ENT specialist I worked for was not concerned about me working in this way as they didn’t plan to provide these services in their clinic.
I enjoyed having an extra income from $300 to $1000 per week while furthering my professional skills and helping people who really needed my help.
That being said, if you’re going to do this work- be a badass at it. We can help you get there. And, right now, we have specialty pricing on our courses that teach you how to provide high-quality APD services. Is 2020 your year to start your little somethin' on the side?
