💥AUSTIN MARTIN PUTTING ON A SHOW💥
Swipe ⬅️ for a deeper dive...
✅- Frame 1: Great view of Martin Keeping his posture and rotating the shoulders on plane. Pay close attention to his shoulder turn here. At launch the front shoulder is down and in, then as he starts his turn the front shoulder and back shoulder switch. Also a great view of the powerful lower half and great extension. So many good things to see here.
✅- Frame 2: I have highlighted his swing plane from the CF view. You can see he drops his bat into the slot and then creates a nice flat swing plane (rather than a distortion). This keeps his barrel in line with the pitch for a much longer period of time, which gives him a greater margin for error as it relates to timing. Additionally, swinging on plane means that your max exit velocities will occur at beneficial launch angles.
✅- Frame 3: This is the live game footage of his first homer. Again, watch for the blur of that swing plane.
✅- Frame 4: This was just funny, it is the clip of his second home run of the game. However, there was a typo that said it traveled 158ft...😂😂😂 just thought I would share it. Anybody else catch that during the live broadcast?
