I only use products I believe in for all my Dermaplaning facials. After suffering eczema on my face for years I can react to the slighted ingredient. Medik8 skincare is very calming and soothing but also gives a kick to tighten and deeply exfoliate the skin , but most of all gives you an intense glow. Get clear radiant skin now! •
YOUNG eco-warriors at #BalsallCommon Primary School learnt all about #climatechange at a Renewable Energy assembly with a special guest speaker from a UK energy supplier.
Julie Dixon from #EonEnergy visited the school to discuss a range topical subjects with Key Stage 2 pupils.
They ranged from: What is climate change? What is carbon, how does it affect us and what can we do to reduce our carbon footprint?
The children discovered that each household on average uses 12 tonnes of CO2 per year and picked up tips on how they could become carbon neutral.
Julie said: “It was amazing to see how engaged and how knowledgeable the children were. I am sure they will all make great eco-warriors and help save our planet.” Teachers are keen for pupils to become more eco-aware while trying to reduce its carbon footprint.
Green steps the school has so far taken include installing LED lights, the double-glazing of all of windows, water-saving push down taps and cling film replaced on lunchtime sandwiches by paper bags. They have also stopped selling uniform in plastic packaging with help from their supplier.
Howard Rose, Director of Funding & Publicity Manager said: “I would like to thank Julie for all her hard work in putting the presentation together, it was pitched perfectly, and, to Eon for allowing their staff to come into school to explain the importance of carbon reduction. “This is another example of the benefits to both sides when local business work with schools.”
Sometimes sleep deprivation just isn’t funny.
I’ve been known to share a funny meme or two about sleep deprivation but something I shared recently made me think twice about who exactly would be finding it funny? I know that when my daughter was 6 months only, waking every 45 minutes, I certainly wouldn’t have been laughing. In fact, I honestly thought I was going to die from the effects of sleep deprivation. I was on my knees. I cried all the time, I couldn’t hold a conversation, I was questioning everything, I needed sleep!
Some people can survive on less sleep; I shared an article recently which outlined evidence that some people can survive on as little as four hours of sleep a night. Four hours! I imagine these are the lucky people for whom sleep deprivation can be tolerated and perhaps even laughed about and good for them. I think all parents wished they could survive on little sleep. ...
“Sleep is for the weak”, “You can sleep when you’re dead”, all things people told me when I was sleep deprived. These sentiments, although well-meaning and light-hearted, are bandied around groups of new parents like badges of honour and I know there will be new parents laughing but crying on the inside.
Yes you cannot escape the fact that your baby needs feeding in the night in the early weeks/months but this does not have to go on forever, there are things you can do and it doesn’t involve you shutting your child in a room and ignoring them. ...
I feel passionately that all parents need to know they have options where sleep is concerned, whether that be co-sleeping or sleep training or anything inbetween. To make an informed choice you need to know what help is out there. ...
Don’t suffer in silence, don’t be ashamed if you can’t survive on 4 hours of broken sleep a night. There are no medals for the surviving on as little sleep as humanly possible. Reach out, speak out and get help, it’s out there. ...
