Someone need to hear this today? :
Faith or fear. YOU get to choose. You can let that single little lie out of nowhere consume you. You can choose to agree with that fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, despair..etc or you can fight it. You have power to overcome *all* schemes and works of the enemy. 🙌🏼 Let your faith be bigger then your fears, and watch your life change. ❤️
One of my favourite things to have my couples do is just wrap up in each other!! These sessions are so special, and give you guys the excuse to exist together with no one but the camera (and me 😆) there to watch. You deserve these moments of quiet and enjoyment with one another ♥️
When we were in Yosemite a couple weeks ago, I had a shoot set up that fell through. The morning of. At 6 AM. On the way there. 😭 Obviously that sucked— it’s been on my bucket list to shoot there, and it was our last day, so there was no way I could set up something else.
My first reaction was to be really upset and frustrated. But Stephen was all like PULL IT TOGETHER, WE’RE GONNA DO THIS.
So we drove our butts back up that mountain into the park, and broke out the tripod. 🙃 It might not be what I was originally envisioning… but I’m so thankful for the photos we got of US that we wouldn’t have if that hadn’t happened.
Plus, now I’ve just got an overflow of yummy ideas and the lay of the land for the next time I’m shooting in Yosemite. 😉 moral of the story, if you wanna elope there and bring me with you, I’d probably be free :-)
How long did you and your partner know eachother before trying the knot? Ryan and I were pretty much dating from the time we met and then got married 5 years after. .
These two have known each other for aaaages and are finally getting hitched in May! 💑
For the past 3 days everytime I've looked at the clock it's been 11:11.
That's gotta count for something right?

Going for a canoe ride is such a fun way to spend some time with just each other on your intimate wedding day!
Or if you’re eloping and it’s just the two of you all day long, it can be an amazing way to relax and take in the beautiful scenery 🚣🏻♂️

One of the things that makes my heart fulfilled in this industry is having clients understand what my vision and end goal is when it comes to documenting them - and that is to capture and tell their story through my lens, and seeing emotions and love and feeling the authenticity in each and every photo I capture. Yes, I always take a couple portrait shots in the beginning of every session, but after that comes the fun part. It's where you get to have fun and engage with your loved ones, play, get dirty, snuggle and love on them and just have a memorable time as I capture and document your story. 💕

The vibrancy of the mountains means that the weather can change in an instant. When I got to this view the clouds were just starting to part, and a few seconds after I took this shot the trees were completely in shade again. I totally get why people like @anseladams and @clydebutcher would sit in one place for hours waiting for the right moment.
Winter wedding hacks: bring a blanket to be wrapped up in, wear leggings under your dress, and wear warm winter boots!
Michelle & Eric’s wedding was windy and cold, and that blanket was her saviour 🙏🏼 fur shawls won’t cut it! ❄️.
What’s your best advice for a winter bride!.
This is how I’m feeling that this week is half over!! It’s been a weird day, so I’m stoked for a fresh start tomorrow!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Another awesome session I got to photograph as team lead for @justinerussophotographer!! I cant wait for the Banff sessions I have booked already this year!!

A trio of galaxies above Cascade Mountain 🌌
On the right is our home galaxy of the Milky Way, Andromeda Galaxy is in the centre of the image and about 2.5 million light years away from earth and then just visible in the left hand corner of the frame is Triangulum Galaxy which is approximately 2.7 million light years away ✨

Well, we are officially halfway through the week and we’re sailing toward the weekend 😊 anyone else home after a good day of work binging some Grey’s Anatomy and waiting for your hubby to get home? 😋
Today I'm at @kaespomedia's house and we're doing a ton of flat lays in batch :) LIKE SO MANY. I'm focusing on getting some inspiration out there for wedding themes and colour pallets :) My pro flat lay/styling tips for pjtogs, when in doubt on a wedding day you can carefully use the bride's train as a backdrop for detail shots ❤️ #yegwedding#yegphotographer#weddingdetails#meetmeinjasper

I'm so close to wrapping up this sweet session and I can't wait to share this gallery with everyone! So adorable you guys!
Driving home from our mini vacay up north. On the agenda for the rest of the week: edit, drink coffee, snuggle Myla, answer emails and a few 2021 calls! ♥️

Oh hey it’s me, Kat! I wanted to take a second to introduce myself to the new faces around here. I take pictures of people who love one another whether that’s a couple or a family. I think life it too short to wait for the perfect time! I just recently began learning to cook/bake new recipes and have been loving it. I also started piano lessons in 2019 which a lot of people think is something you have to learn as a kid but here I am! I love travelling and will be in Alberta and B.C. for most of may (definitely booking shoots while i’m there so let me know if you’re down, let’s make magic!). I’ll also be in Boston in July! Thanks for sticking with me along this wild journey, I can’t wait to share with you what I have planned for 2020!
I opened up about how I started on this journey and how I reached my goal of becoming a full time photographer! You can read it now on the blog, link in bio 🥰

I always tell my couples not to worry about the weather, because we don’t need sunshine to create magic.
A snowstorm came up straight after Morgan and Brennan’s ceremony and it truly made for the most beautiful scenery.
I truly believe that you have to embrace whatever weather comes your way. Because sunshine, clouds, rain or snow, as long as you’re together and I can document your love for each other, it doesn’t matter what the weather is like!
O N E Y E A R. 🎉
One year ago today I arrived in Calgary after my 4 day drive across the country from Ontario.
I literally can’t believe it’s been a year already! It’s been an interesting journey, and I miss my family + friends like crazy (obvi!!!) but the mountains have called me and I absolutely love photographing couples + weddings out here!🏔 Can’t wait for the adventures ahead.♥️

Go to the link in my bio to vote for this photo to be on the cover of the Canadian spring issue of @rockymtnbride! I feel so thankful and so excited to be one of the top four finalists!! ❤️❤️❤️
I am the type of person that doesn’t really understand the important of giving gifts on holidays. 🙈
This may sound a little odd but hear me out! Christmas, birthdays, etc, it’s just not something I enjoy. I honestly really dislike having to force myself to pick something out because a date (or maybe society) tells me I HAVE too.
You see I will give someone gifts, but it may be a random Tuesday in March because I came across an item in a store and found it to be deeply meaningful and reflective of that person. Hunting out those gifts brings me SO much joy and I LOVE finding treasures that bring people happiness because of the deeper level of thought it contains.
But what’s interesting is gift giving is NOT my love language. I don’t feel as loved receiving gifts (I appreciate them, but it’s not the way to my heart I mean) and am not trying to love someone by giving them these gift.) Quality time is my top love language and it FILLS my heart. So I have been trying to figure this unique gift thing out.
Then it hit me. The reason I love these types of gifts is because when I spend quality time with people – when they bless me with that time – I get to truly KNOW them. And if they allow, I get to know them on a deeper level, which is how I feel most loved.
Finding gifts that are so deeply reflective of the people I come to know are such a joy to me because of the time we spend getting to know one another. And to me these gifts I give are more of a THANK YOU for the time you allowed us to grow and learn together. It’s a “I LOVED the time we’ve spent growing our relationship – it’s made me feel SO loved. So here is a gift that reflects the little moments we’ve shared together.”
Is anyone else this way?? I honestly love being this way – people don’t always love it, so I will adjust to speak specific love languages. But goodness it is so fun to learn about people <3
Loving the beautiful frost we have outside today 💙
Yesterday I did something with another local entrepreneur that was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I’m proud of myself that I went for it anyway! I’m a little terrified to see (hear 😉) the results, buuut I hope you guys enjoy it and hopefully it gives you some insight into my personal and business life! It’ll be a little while before it’s announced, but any guesses as to what it is!?
