CHALLENGE #5 : The garage
Seriously, let’s grab a friend or a spouse and GET THIS DONE. Don’t let things pile up in your garage. Clutter weighs on your mind and can make you feel overwhelmed. It’s time to clean it up! Make your two piles of things to donate and things to toss.
Here’s a checklist to get you started:
✔️Old paint cans: either organize or toss (let dry out to throw away or donate to Habitat for Humanity ReStore.) ✔️Trash: grab anything you can that you no longer need and toss it
✔️Cardboard boxes: keep one organized stack and toss the rest
✔️Bicycles & sports equipment: if it’s broken, the kids don’t use it, or the kids don’t fit it anymore, toss or donate
✔️Holiday decorations: get rid of things you don’t USE. Buy huge bins for cheap, label the box, and go through each one to downsize and simplify. ✔️Tools: if you have a toolbox, organize it. If you don’t have one, go buy one and get all those items PUT AWAY!
✔️Random junk: electrical cords, plugs, parts, vases, tubs, flower pots…get rid of JUNK
✔️Outdoor toys: go through all the kids' toys they no longer use and donate or toss. ✔️Seasonal toys: go through those pool toys and snow gear and toss all the broken, mismatched, popped, or “don’t need or use” items:
1-find a bin for each and label
2- or toss or donate what you don’t need and use
Just for fun ~ Participation gets you entered for prizes. #Drawing#freetips#declutter#whereareyoufrom#gettoknowme#organize#house#home#skincare#livingroom#kidsrooms#bathroom#kitchen#contest#bedroom#office#organization

I’ve only really been into home decor for a couple of years now!
My hubs and I moved from San Luis Obispo County to Orange County about 2 years ago, leaving behind all our friends and family, my bffs were literrrrrrrally my neighbors, it was amazing. And so moving away from everyone I had to pick up a hobby, and since my hubs is a app developer (lots of computer time at home) I started picking up home decor and organization and I never want to stop! I looooove spending time at home 🦀 so for me this has been an amazing hobby while I settled into a new town, new people and new job(s) and now I’m ready to share my tips and tricks ✨✨ I hope you’re interested 🌿🥰

Has anyone had a major diy fail?
We have 🙋🏻♀️ Our attempt at concrete countertops was an absolute disaster. We now understand why some things are left to the professionals.
Still trying to figure out how to hide our laundry. Currently we have shiplap just sitting on top 🙈
DECISIONS, DECISIONS – It seems like I have spent the last several weeks dealing with countertops for our home build and the more I look, the more confusing it gets. I have this annoying need to ensure I have fully unearthed and discovered ALL my options before making a final decision, which in all honesty makes it all the more confusing.
It has been a great learning experience however, where going into this I thought the difference between quartz vs granite was only the various patterns and colour ways in which it as offered. As it turns out, there is a whole lot more to consider. The following are some key learnings, many of which are courtesy of @kasiaw_designs a regular expert on the @themarilyndenisshow .
-Very dense, bacteria, stain resistant
-Eco friendly option – it is not quarried like granite/marble, it can be made regionally saving on its carbon footprint
-Can be customized for your space without visible seams
-Cannot place warm heat on it directly
-Costs slightly more then granite
-Can discolor over time when exposed to direct sunlight.
-Can place warm heat on it directly
-Unique, natural and timeless appearance -Costs slightly less then quartz
-More porous and must be sealed and maintained annually
-Shows seams more easily -Only naturally occurring colors are available and cannot be customized
Based on taking these factors into consideration, We have decided to go with quartz throughout our home. Now color selection is another story …… .
