White-flowered Rhododendron (Rhododendron albiflorum) is also informally known as White rhododendron. I read that this shrub is found in dry to wet forests and openings in the montane and subalpine zones. Its white flowers are reported to have a mildly citrus scent. I appreciate that this native deciduous shrub is not exotic, but I am always excited to see something new - and showy. Photo composed along the Shipyard - Titanic hiking trail, Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark, British Columbia, Canada, July 28/19.
Day 17: Dirty. The mud flats in #portmoody are a great place to sink into mud and emerge completely dirty very quickly. Legend says there is an unfound geocache out there but I don't think there is, I just think it's someone's idea of a joke to make people filthy from searching. #geocaching
In case you were still unsure of what the rest of the world also thinks about the Canadian Government's illegal occupation of Wet'suwet'en Territory... Article 10. Oddly, P.M. Trudeau just happens to be out of town. UPDATE: He's back, did ya hear the speech this morning? A lot of speaking around the truth, eh what's it called... lying.

Spirit Bears 🐻
I had the opportunity to see the Spirit Bears up close, led by the Gitga'at First Nations community. Only a few hundred bears exist, and they're found in northern BC. For their protection, the exact location is kept secret.
They're actually a subspecies of black bears, but have a recessive gene that make them appear this colour! 😁
Whoever said breakfast was the most important meal of the day was wrong... it's definitely brunch! If we're speaking your language, you'll love our post on how to explore Vancouver like a local. Link in bio for the hidden gems 💎
You can’t beat evenings like these in Tofino. During the day the beaches are crowded during peak season, however at night there aren’t nearly as many people. Here is a shot of one of the most epic sunsets I have ever seen. The black oystercatchers fly above and this place hits you on all levels. I can definitely say I am hooked.
