I've always wanted to be a Park Ranger. I'd get to be outside, look after the forest, and spend a career in nature. While I have an office job, a guy can dream. What's a job you've always dreamed of?

The rain finally stopped for a brief moment yesterday and I was able to get out and find some birds. If you look really closely at the top of his head, you can see a tiny fleck of the ruby feather these little birds are known for. Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
We take advantage Susan’s good days and get outside to our happy place. Sunday was just that - rain and all!! A fun 12km loop around Lower Seymour kept us entertained as we jumped in puddles, searched out massive stumps and crawled around the river banks. Yup - we got wet from the rain but I simply did not care!
Not every day is great with chemo. In fact, some days if Susan makes it from the bed to the couch it’s considered a win. But what is most admirable is her fighting spirit to get outside and LIVE each day to her maximum potential. The hope and inspiration that Susan shares with myself and our friends is indomitable. Her genuine smiles are infectious and makes me forget myself for just a minute and simply enjoy life on life’s terms. What a gift. ❤️❤️

#BeautifulBC #BeautifulBCinCrisis #GrowBCParks . Petition Text: The BC Government has failed to protect sufficient habitat to preserve biodiversity for the next generation. - The best available science predicts that 50% of Earth's ecosystems must be protected to maintain the biodiversity that is necessary to sustain a habitable planet. - Less than 15% of British Columbia is currently protected. - British Columbia has over 1,800 known Species at Risk and counting, largely due to massive, extensive ecosystem destruction. - In British Columbia, the loss of old growth forests is accelerating the climate crisis faster than fossil fuel use. - Biodiversity loss threatens food and water availability and other necessities of human survival.
The Grow BC Parks Coalition declares that the Provincial and First Nation governments of British Columbia should immediately protect BC's remaining intact natural areas by increasing Class A parks and legislated Tribal Parks to 30% of the provincial landbase. An additional 20% of the provincial landbase should be protected in conservation areas legislated for the maintenance of carbon sequestration and storage, and for the preservation of biodiversity. I didn’t grow up skiing, unlike the majority of students I teach, who miss multiple days of school in the winter for “ski school.” My family wasn’t the skiing type. Learning how to ski as an adult has been humbling 😅. So to any friends that have gone ski touring with me this winter: I want to say a big thank you! Thank you for giving up a bigger day to do something mellow & for teaching a newbie a thing or two 🤗 ⛷[📷: @stephedwood ]
