"We were rulers of the world, if only for a day. We stood up there high above the trees, among the rocks and shrubs, where the earth fell away on both sides and gazed into the vast expanse of a mountainous world that lay out before us. And what a world it was; far and wide and endless as the sky was big. And there we were, three small heavy laden creatures standing upon the rocky trail looking out at that wild world...and nary a human soul gazed back.
It's addicting: the adrenaline that pumps through the blood in active pursuit of travel. To go where there's nothing but the wind blowing up canyon walls, across vast fields, through trees and tunnels of rock. To go where the only light is the sun as it beats down from above, spots the ground between wavering splotches of shadow caste by a sheltering canopy of leaves. To go where the path may be narrow but the very view pulls the mind far and wide and deep. To go where day time travels end under a moon hanging from a ceiling of stars that decorate a black abyss. To go to a place where I have only to wake up the next day and do it all again. This… this is what fills my adventurous heart and soothes my wander lusting soul.
...The true essence of going on an adventure, and the true intent of disappearing into the void of the wilds, isn't to cure the yearning but to enhance it."

I was inspired by a recent blog post from a fellow #vanlifer (@spirit.vanimal) to revitalize my own blog. I can't guarantee I will post with any frequency but I have re-homed what few blog posts I had on my old blog. They are now on my website. The above is an excerpt from today's post about my first experience backpacking. Pictures included! Link in bio!
I have two other blogs already posted and a few more to post in the next few days. I have a some ideas for a few more! Tomorrow's post is also an old re-homed post about how I discovered the mobile lifestyle and 'vanlife' ...and the first sparks of truly bringing forth long-held dreams I had thought were unattainable. If you have anything you would like me to write about, let me know!
DLED: My Passion has me making things with my hands, painting, sewing, and so on. When you get down and dirty with design and start using your hands for more than lifting, directing, and moving, that’s when the real “magic” happens.
