Today's Blondie 😍 The trick to doing blonde highlights on someone who is naturally really dark is to do babylights. Lots of fine highlights to really get a bright blonde but also to blend the outgrowth nicer and have a better transition as it grows in. 🙌

Oh so you want to be platinum blonde?
Here's what you should know before you start your journey, because it's not for the faint of heart.
❄ It probably won't happen in 1 sitting. We want you to have hair at the end of this process. Slow and steady wins the race. You aren't a Kardashian.
❄ It is a time and financial investment. You will see your hairstylist more than you ever have before. If you go longer than 6 weeks between retouches, it's almost like starting over.
❄ Don't try to do it at home. That's self explanatory. ❄ The darker your hair is, the more challenging it is to get you there. ❄ You NEED a purple shampoo at home. If not you will be goldilocks in no time. You may also need to come in and get your hair toned between visits. .
We hope this helps someone considering going blonde. If you have more question feel free to set up a consultation and pick out brains some more.
A hint of purple with @pravana vivids everlasting which I don’t mind working with compared to the pigments. I have ruined whole lot of white salon furniture with that stuff. Hopefully this saves a few showers and towels at home too! 💜💜
Putting myself out there. So this was a color correction. The objective was to remove black haircolor and achieve a softer base. Well even though I had a thorough consultation I jumped in head first WITHOUT doing a strand test. This is something that I say to co-workers and students all the time but for some reason I did not follow my own advice. She is of Puerto Rican decent and her hair is extremely thick and curly and she has about 75% white. This took over 7 hours, LOTS of lightener several trips to the shampoo bowl since it had to be removed in stages, pre-pigmentation color plus a clear formula to make sure porosity was even, rough dry, full color application using a color for her white and another for the rest. She was thrilled. I was exhausted. Even though I got her to where we wanted I do kick myself for not having taken the time to strand test and wonder how much time and stress I would have saved. How many of you stylists out there have regretted not doing a strand test? Be brave and send me a comment.

✨Sometimes you have to push your boundaries and break out of your normal routine when doing custom designs! Not gonna lie, this one was a challenge! We merged classic Teddy Boy rockabilly Jelly Rolls with 80s grunge bike mullet to create this Avant garde look - and tbh I’m loving it 💪🏻
