Friday’s jog-a-thon celebration was full of surprises and silly string. Congratulations to M. E. and Elise B. on winning the SpringFree Trampoline! 7th graders celebrated their top fundraising efforts with the Silly String showdown versus teachers and administration and home rooms were honored for their mileage efforts. Thank you St. John parents, friends, and sponsors for another successful jog-a-thon! #springfreetrampoline#BeKind
405lbs for 3! I did one extra rep tonight...i know it’s just a baby step but at least it’s still a step in the right direction. Sometimes it’s the little things and the extra things that really count! That goes for in live as well! If someone is willing to do a little extra for you make sure you tell them how appreciative you are of that! There are very few people out there willing to do something extra for someone else! Cherish those people and when you get a hold of one of them, hold onto them tight because those are the ones that are in your corner willing to fight for you! #doalittleextra#beextraordinary#bekind#grind#mondaymotivation#treatothershowyouwanttobetreated#holdon#trust#bebold 💪🏽💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽

"Be impeccable with Your Word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love." -Don Miguel Ruiz
This was one of our main talking points this evening at class. Going around the room we all shared moments where we have lied to someone else and caused pain, gossiped about someone else to cause others to look at them differently or to make ourselves look better. It was a hard conversation and there surprisingly weren't many dry eyes in the room. You never realize the damage our words can cause to another and to ourselves. The Bible states that "the tongue has the power of life and death," and after thinking over my life and hearing the personal stories from class made me realize how careless, insensitive, and foolish I've been at different times of my life. I've never taught a class about prison or reentry since we began the organization. I've always felt the things we deal with in life which lead to more egregious acts has nothing to do with prison really but so many other factors including unresolved issues we refuse to acknowledge and therefore have never dealt with head on, like making the conscious effort to get our words under control, but possibly that may only happen when we realize that it's not about our words only, maybe it's about our current mental and spiritual condition which causes us not to take a long assessment of our words and actions. I prayed this evening that God begin to create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. #wereinthistogether#wegrowtogether#wordsarepowerful#bekind#newdaynewway#prison2praise

Strict pull ups again 10 weeks post Mastectomy and half way through chemo. Worked my way slowly back. Listened to my allied health team...slow and steady wins the race 🙌🏻. Right side is moving well! Thanks team 👊🏻 Stoked!
I've been having a rough couple of days.
My anxiety is through the roof as I try to write my next book.
I'm finding myself comparing my stories to other authors, asking myself if my readers will continue to download my books each time, and wondering if I have the thick skin necessary for accepting less than stellar reviews of my books, even though I know not everyone will feel the same way about it.
I do this for fun, but I also know that when I read, I want to be immersed in a story to distract me from the chaos of life.
I aim to bring alive emotions in my own stories, but lately, I feel like I'm falling short.
Self-doubt is plaguing me right now, but I'm fighting hard to beat it.
I am the only person who can tell the stories in my head...I just wish readers understood how much goes into each story and how detrimental it can be to have someone tear your work apart.
🚨🚨🚨 LONG POST ALERT:
This is why I love what I do. I met Ms. Susie and her son, Ryan on the plane on the way back from the #paparazziconvention in #Vegas . We talked about why she was seeing so many Paparazzi tees and bags and hats. She politely asked for my business card, just as I was reaching for one, stating that maybe this would be a good idea for her, since she lives in Vegas. So, of course I was super excited already pumped leaving Convention, and possibly gaining a new business partner (Papa Sis). So, before we exited the plane, I reached in my carry-on & handed her a cuff bracelet. The smile on her face made my day. She kept offering to pay for it. Nope. So, she told me that she'd be contacting me after their vacation. But, weeks passed and I didn't hear from her. Nevertheless, I didn't get discouraged. THEN, at the end of Aug., I received a message on FB...and it was Susie !!! We chatted via messenger. She kept saying how it was so sweet of me to just give her the cuff, and that she'd worn it the whole vacation. But, that maybe Paparazzi wasn't for her at the time, which I told her that I totally understand. But, she also mentioned that she picked up a new hobby of making natural soaps and would love to send me some, because I was "so nice and fun to be around, and that I left an impression on her". She told me it would take a while to cure, but she wouldn't forget.
So, today I open the mailbox, and not only were 3 beautiful soaps in there, so was this beautiful note. How pretty are these? And they smell great. I see a budding friendship in the making. Maybe Paparazzi isn't for her at the moment, maybe later, but what were the chances of me meeting such a kind soul, had it not been for #Paparazzi . Thanks so much Ms. Susie 💛❤💛 #Paparazzi#coasttocoastfriends#ilovewhatido#becauseofpaparazzi#imreadywhenyouare#bekind#sharethelove
“Kindness is not an act. It’s a lifestyle.” ~ Anthony Douglas Williams
When was the last time you gave true kindness to someone?
Not every day is a good day. But there is always something good in every day. If we open our mind to a different lifestyle, make sure kindness is in it.
You change the world by changing yourself and providing a little bit of kindness every day.
Comment “❤” if you too are passionate about serving others and giving back.
Give yourself a break... Was today a hard day? I’m sorry. Tomorrow will be another day. Things will be different. Let yourself rest now. You have done enough. .
Dr. Kristen Neff’s research on self-compassion states its importance and its positive effects on our well-being. If you are enduring difficult times, take a moment to acknowledge that this is a difficult moment and give yourself a break. Be gentle with yourself and soothe yourself. .
For self-soothing tips, please refer to my previous post.
In the meantime, get some rest and I hope tomorrow gets better for you. .
How do you respond when Mother Nature makes her presence known with a roar and are quickly reminded of the scarcest resource? More importantly, are you up for the challenge?

Over four years ago I got an email from a lady who wanted 100 bracelets for a charity event. I remember thinking goodness, that’s a lot, and after I made the first one I honestly remember saying 1 down, 99 to go - thinking it was going to take me 100yrs to finish them. •
Fast forward and now we make 400 bracelets for the same event every year since then. •
Bonus?! I have two people I love who live down in Vancouver that I didn’t even meet in person for years. Melissa and Laura somehow found me, sent me an email and we’ve grown our relationships with each other since then. •
Now here we are, taking the little seed we planted to the next level and joining together for the Dreams Flight tomorrow. •
It all started with an email.
Like a small seed, that was nourished and watered, and keeps growing. •
You just never know how big and tall a seed will grow. So start planting them. •
If you want to learn more about Dreams Take Flight check out their website at dreamstakeflight.ca. You can also donate there and 100% of proceeds go to changing these kids lives. •
Just left the dinner, I know who my kiddos are and my little Minnie Mouse Group is going to be busy changing lives tomorrow - including my own! Wish us luck as I really wouldn’t attempt this with my own kids lol. •
I can’t wait and even though I need to go to sleep now for a 2am wake up call I have a feeling it’s going to be tough to make myself close my eyes. •
