Here's another #hippy quote for my fellow humans. #flowstate should be a practice in all forms of life. Perspective shapes reality and I've chosen to live mine by going with the waves.
Thankful for this mindset that has landed me in an area wrought with opportunity to flourish. And that's exactly what I will do.
🍁While I was mesmerized with these masterpieces of Alessandro, a lady stood right next to me & stared at them with such an awe 😍...from that moment, we graciously had the most beautiful conversation that took us from places we have hiked & the reason why she moved her kids to East Tennessee. I was moved by her story. I gave her a hug when I saw tears coming down her cheeks. I’m truly humbled that she allowed me to listen to her journey. #alwaysbekind#bemindful

#life 🦋 #repost 🌻🌻 //Reposted from @laurajaneillustrations (@get_regrann) - Take it all in from where you stand now because life is always moving and changing, and this moment is fleeting.
Your life will never be exactly as it is now again; you will never live two days that look exactly the same.
Be thankful for every moment as it passes by; be grateful for every experience that visits you, whether it’s a short visit or a long one.
This is your life, live it in the now; don’t keep wishing for tomorrow, be present and enjoy each today as it comes ✨ . #bepresent#bemindful#begrateful#laurajaneillustrations

#REALTALK : It's been difficult for me to understand how to be an ethical tourist here in Sa Pa. Let me (try to) explain.
It's been an amazing couple of days exploring the remote highlands in Northern Vietnam, and leaning more about the dozens of ethnic minorities that live here.
But when you visit, you're bombarded by adults who want to help guide you up and down the slippery and muddy trails (they seriously are helpful) in return for you buying something later (as I found out, they're not part of the tour). Or by children selling trinkets, who should be in school, but are hustling on the street instead.
I want to support them all because I can, but I don't know how much or what way. Especially the children. Sometimes I don't know if tourism is helping or hurting these communities.
So long story long, I love traveling, but there are some real moments where I feel very much like an outsider looking in with a magnifying glass, gawking at "traditional lifestyles" from my own posh and comfy life.
Ever have those days where nothing seems to go right? Or something happens that just sends you right over the edge? I've definitely had some trying times these past few weeks. I'll also admit, I lost my cool a couple of times. We can't all be perfect 100% of the time. However, want to something I didn't do? I didn't let those situations define my day. I could have played the blame game and wallowed in self pity for the rest of the day. But that doesn't change what already happened and only makes me unhappy. So how did I get out of my funk? By using a simple mindfulness technique when things go off the rails.
I can't change the situation, but I can change how I respond. So when things start to get rough, practice PEACE.
A: Acknowledge the situation
C: Choose how you plan to respond
A few seconds taken to address the situation and your response can have a huge impact on you, the outcome, and others around you.
The 80’s would have been incredibly boring without her. You know who I’m talking about already right?
Lucky Star is my ring tone.
To create a personal brand strategy, start with your audience, set your intention, define the gap and get to work. ⠀ ⠀
Some intentions could include: finding a problem and fixing it: the world is a chaotic and often frightening place, be the light that we all want to rally around. Bring the positive power everyday. ⠀ ⠀
Take meaningful action: build a community. ⠀
My co-founders and I created Forth Chicago, which is a an organization focused on creating intentional events that celebrate creative women entrepreneurs. And connect people.⠀ ⠀
Give back to your community: ⠀
I know a florist who takes flowers left over from her weekend weddings and builds flower arrangements for her local retirement homes.⠀ ⠀
Volunteer anywhere that your heart is. Shine bright lights on others, be the person who always connects people, be the person who knows everyone or every movie and share.⠀ ⠀
You don’t have to be altruistic about it, you could simply create a personal website and share your expertise and advice. But consider the most successful personal brand are ones that add value in some way, shape or form. ⠀ ⠀
Even Madonna adds value through her music, funk and spirit. The 80’s would have been incredibly boring without her.

Hmm... seems like an interesting sign at a trailhead. Not diminishing the reality of heat stroke and other serious things, but know your own limits and be prepared with water. Lots of water.

The true authentic beauty of a person is when they speak of their loves - they speak with conviction, passion, and joyfulness.
For me, this means expressing myself through dance and writing, it means loving my kids and family passionately without restraint, and it also means helping as many people as possible pursue their health and wellness goals.
As a child I was the “keeper” of secrets for friends, I was that go to person to provide a voice of reason/advice and I was the one who stood firmly in my truth with no regrets.
I’m adulthood these attributes have followed me and I wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️

Gaylon Ferguson gave a wonderful lecture on the third foundation of Mindfulness: Mindfulness of Mind. Lots of notes were taken! One of my favorite quotes was about bravery. He said, “Bravery is the willingness to be present with our own experience.” Love that!
Check-in with the highest version of yourself on a daily basis. Start asking yourself, "how does the highest version of myself do XYZ?" What steps can I take right now that will get me closer to her?
Start thinking about what your ideal life looks like and start taking aligned action towards your dreams. Action breeds clarity, so stop trying to figure it all out before you take your first step. The only thing you need to focus on is your next step, always.
I'm not saying don't have a plan, I'm all about vision! What I'm saying is don't overwhelm yourself with all the steps necessary to get you there. Check-in with your highest self and take the next step. Rinse and repeat.
Productivity is not about doing a bunch of things, it's about doing the right things.💙💙

Propped out. Partnered up. Prenatal yoga teacher training!
Throwback to a couple weeks ago.
So much homework right now! I certainly know where my free time is going for the next few weeks. And I love the education. Keeping us busy @sueelkind until we all meet again in December for another 4 days.
Extremely fortunate that I decided to take this course. Loving every moment and all the helpful knowledge.
There was a time I had to ask to take time off of work to go on field trips. Oh how thankful I am I don’t have to do that anymore.
I took a risk on a company because I couldn’t imagine continuing to be in a position that I was being under utilized and literally felt like I was wasting my time. I thought there had to be a better way.
And I shared with a group of friends Monday night that I was honestly scared of what my friends and family might say. Heaven forbid I become that weirdo who sells a product. But I stepped out in faith because my husband did his research and said this company was legit and that partnering with the Drs who created ProActive was a smart move.
What if I had said no?
If I had said no then I would have less time doing what’s important.
I would not have published my book.
I would not be living life on my terms. And you guys...life is short!
Say yes to the things that allow you to live the life you want. If you are curious as to what Rodan+Fields is all about, then send me a message and let’s chat! Getting information is the only way you can decide if it’s right for you.
Hi my name is Andrea and I have experience as a Peer Support Worker for Mental Health related challenges. 8 years ago, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 1 with psychotic features. I know how important it is to have someone to listen.
I’ve been working as a Peer Support Worker for 3.5 years. I can help you move towards your goals. In my life, I’ve tried to make the best of the good times, including international travel, and weather the storms of the bad time, including avoiding hospitalization 4 times. I’m really good at finding resources and may be able to help you find income that suits your wellness fluctuations, for example. We speak the same language due to our shared experience so if you’d like to talk, please reach out.
I am available as a Supporter to help you in a compassionate and non judgmental way. Through deep listening and sharing experience, we can make meaning and create new understandings that we derive ourselves. This serves to ignite empowerment to direct our own path.
Also, I have discovered many tools and resources which may provide a scaffolding for creating a lifestyle design that works for you.
If you, someone you love, or someone you know has a loved one suffering from Bipolar Disorder or Depression, Andrea is a great resource for you.
Andrea is not a therapist, instead she is someone who has lived it herself. What better person to talk to than someone who has experienced it, learned to live with it and is now wanting to help other people going through something similar.

🙍♀️: You know when the dog is angry?
🙍♂️: When the dog is hungry.
🙍♀️: No, when the dog wasn’t cuddled for long time.
It’s kinda a parody that actually meant to be applied for us, people. We all are in need of cuddles from our lover, friend, or at least a stranger or therapist.
Skin-to-skin touch is one of the most powerful feelings on the planet. Do you remember how good you feel when getting a shoulder massage from a friend, a foot rub from a lover or a cuddle session from a partner?
Touch releases special hormones in our bodies such as oxytocin ( they connects us back to the world) and dopamine ( that brings us a pleasure) and also inhibits stress hormones such as cortisol.
Touch is very first sense we develop and it’s the last that diminishes while we age.
When was last time you hugged those you love? #thoughtoftheday#cuddle#love#london#bemindful

I have learned an unexpected lesson lately and that is the importance of having patience. I feel as if this has been present in my life before but just recently I have become really aware of just how impatient I have become with my journey. Anytime I start something new: move to a new place, start a new business, new job, new activity or hobby I am the type of person who wants everything to come together RIGHT AWAY! .
Can you relate? This topic and conversation came up with the farm owner here on the land I am living on. He pointed out how everything here on the island is very slow and easy going compared to the very much westernized mainland and so when I am coming here with all of that fast paced, go, go , go energy the universe is like hold up there is a lesson here in store for you and that is to SLOW DOWN and be PATIENT.
When first getting here my fiancé and I were expecting to both get jobs within the first week, find a functioning car, explore more of the island and be living that “good” life. However what we have found is that by putting so much pressure and force on ourselves to accomplish these things quickly we have come upon more struggle and frustration than ever. It took me about 2 weeks to find a job, our car broke down on my birthday, I put myself in a position where I have no days off and little time for myself to do things like meal prep, yoga, meditate, journal etc. and I am TIRED and frustrated. We both are and disappointed because we were expecting something completely different when moving here.
The reality is though that progress TAKES TIME and we have plenty of it so we just need to chill the freak out. Easier said than done though if you know what I mean? Slowly but surely things are coming together one day at a time. Stephen has found a job and we are about to have steady paychecks come in, we got a bike, friends on the farm let us use there car from time to time and I am slightly less sore today! It can only go up from here 🙏🏻
Just be yourself...

I often wonder how, as an artist, I can contribute toward a greater cause. Outside of sharing my work with the world and inspiring/teaching other aspiring silversmiths skills and techniques to pursue their own passions, I want to offer MORE. I want to have a positive impact on our earth. I have been a 1% For the Planet contributor which I still believe is a wonderful, quiet way to give. However, after listening to Climate activist Greta Thunberg address the U.N.'s Climate Action Summit, I realize that donating money is simply not enough. I'm currently listening to the audiobook The Overstory by Richard Powers which, once again, causes me to pause and question what more I can do.
An idea hit me while talking with a close friend who's a Lichenologist. If you've ever spent time with one, you'd know that, when they find someone intrigued by the topic of lichen, they act almost intoxicated and become joyfully animated. After our energetic conversation I made the decision to apply for an Artist in Residence in one of the National Parks in Alaska to study lichen (hopefully in the shadow of my Lichenologist friend). If it comes to fruition I will spend weeks camping and hiking in the wilderness. I will absorb everything I can about lichen, and then return to my studio to create what I've seen in silver and share what I've learned with you. It could be the beginning of something bigger. The idea has me excited about the possibilities.
While working on ferns these past two days I took time to read up on the amazing, countless roles ferns play in our ecosystem. Just a few of those roles include providing microhabitats, as well as shelter and shade to small animals, providing a source of food or medicine for animals, colonizing disturbed sites as one stage in succession, and filtering toxins from environments thus providing a bioindicator for the health of an ecosystem.
If you haven't listened to or watched Greta Thunberg's speech, I encourage you to do so. It might make you think about what more you can do, too.
Today was a day that I was truly heart broken......
Short Story Ahead
People always stare at Riley when we go in public on her walker. You get people who stare, people who stay clear, or those who truly embrace Riley for who she is... We have learned to not let it bother us and try to educate as many people as possible or we stay clear of them the way they stay clear of us. Today was different today my emotions were
Children always stare and that’s ok because I understand that their curious. We get children who ask their parents in front of us “what’s wrong” and I prefer they do that because then they can be educated that NOTHING is wrong that these beautiful children just need a little extra help.
Today there was a little girl at least around the age of 7 who was staring at Riley and of course Riley about her little life didn’t notice and I tried not to pay mind. As we were exiting the aisle Riley with her joyous self looks at the little girl staring and says “Hi FRIEND” and in that moment that little girl turned around so quick and went to her mother without saying hi back to Riley in that moment my heart broke... Riley looked at me and said awwww mommy.... I had to tell her it’s ok baby she’s just shy and that could have been exactly what it was but as Riley gets older and understands she may not see it like that and may see it like the girl was afraid of her... My biggest fear is when Riley eventually goes to school that some children will be mean to her... Parents I know children are curious and that’s ok but it’s also ok to start letting your little ones know not everyone looks the same but that doesn’t make them any different......

Sometimes you cannot understand beauty, but only feel it within.
It’s about the smile that radiates warmth, it’s about kindness and caring for others.
It’s about loving yourself for who you are, not what you look like.
It’s about to not taking life too seriously, it’s about trustworthy, honesty.
It’s about being the best human being you can possibly be.
True beauty is measured by the number of pearls within you, not those around your neck.
