It's Travel Tip Tuesday! #beprepared
Do you know about this year’s requirement for anyone boarding “federally regulated” commercial airlines?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Starting in October of this year, the identification you use to fly (unless you’re military, government employee, federally credentialed traveler, etc.) will have to be REAL ID compliant!⠀⠀⠀
Contact your local DMV or visit TSA’s website for details on your state’s process for issuing compliant IDs, so there won’t be any surprises when you board any trips departing after October, 2020.⠀⠀
Safe travels! 🗓✈️

DO YOU KNOW THE MOST COMMON TOURIST SCAMS?
Before you travel overseas you should DO YOUR RESEARCH on how to prevent being robbed or pick pocketed, it won't %100 percent guarantee it won't happen, but probably good to be aware! I HAVE SEEN THEM ALL! DUDE, you should not travel carelessly.
HERE ARE SOME COMMONS SCAM:
1.) PEOPLE WITH CLIPBOARDS, especially in crowds at tourist spots. "NO", even as they are walking up, shake your head be firm, say "NO" and KEEP WALKING! "NO" to the BS "petiton" asking you for money or to sign up or whatever, next thing you know 2 of them are on you and you're getting pressed and they've taken your phone or slipped a hand in your bag. NO! KEEP WALKING.
2.) A DISTRESSED PERSON approaches you asking to help them w/extra money for a train ticket. They'll say they're only a few Euros short, they want you to open your wallet for change and then BOOM. They've grabbed your whole damn wallet. A guy tried this shit w/me in Florence and I yelled at him (because I knew what he was trying) and he tried to follow me yelling at ME and I walked to a crowded restaurant front and started yelling even louder and caused a scene and he ran like hell.
3.) ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BAG OR PURSE ON YOUR LAP IN A RESTAURANT!! You SHOULD be traveling w/a SMALL crossbody bag for walking around, preferably one w/a chain so it can't get cut off. Same for any camera, you SHOULD have a cut proof strap! Purses/backpacks on floors/tables/chairs in cafes or restaurants GET SWIPED! Pay attention! Don't put phones on table tops, I've seen them get SWIPED!
4.) DON'T PUT YOUR BAGS DOWN IN TRAIN STATIONS!! NEVER LOSE GRIP OR SIGHT ON THEM. I saw a lady's whole suitcase get lifted right next to her in an Italian train station!
5.) WEAR THE DAMN MONEY BAGS OR BRA WALLETS. Keep your sh$t under your garments and SECURE. I wear a bra wallet and a passport body bag under clothes.
6.) DON'T GET SUCKED IN when old ladies (especially in Italy on trains/transit) pretend to faint on you or be sick. I know it sounds awful, but if it looks dire a local will step in. FAINTING NONNA is a scam!
7.) NO WALETS OR PHONES IN POCKETS! C'MON NOW 🙄
It’s time for #TipTuesday and this week we are focusing on how to prepare for an interview with a staffing agency! Here are a few helpful ideas to make sure you leave the best impression 😊
KNOW YOURSELF & YOUR NEEDS. Always be prepared to answer why you are reaching out to an agency, and take this opportunity to be honest with what you may or may not be interested in.
WORK IS WORK. An interview with a staffing agency is just as important as an interview for a permanent position. Be on time, be professional, and express interest in the position you’ve applied for!
DRESS APPROPRIATELY. It is becoming more and more common for offices to be business casual, but it is important to know the difference between business casual and casual. It is never okay to come to an interview dressed inappropriately.
ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. Know that accepting an offer from an agency means you are also accepting the responsibility of representing the agency. Your interview is not only to determine whether you are a strong fit for a certain position, it is also for that agency to determine whether or not you are someone they are comfortable representing them. #NSREverett#NWStaffing#Represent#Staffing#AskQuestions#BeHonest#BePrepared#InterviewPrep#Recruiting
When I was searching for tools for my BONCH (bug out never coming home bag), I really didn’t want to carry a million different tools (tools are heavy). Don’t get me wrong, I love sharp objects and especially if those objects can be helpful. But when it comes to my BONCH, I have to prioritize and be realistic. How often will I use that axe or hatchet? Will a folding saw be of better use? I needed to find a way to carry one or two tools. I chose this big knife from @topsknives because I’m able to do practically everything with it. I also carry a folding saw. I have a couple smaller knives for smaller projects but for the most part, I have NO trouble using this big knife, in addition to my saw, to make a spear or split wood or cut small branches, etc. I’m not saying you have to follow what I’m doing. All I’m saying is, realistically look at your plans, potential for using any tools and then go out and actually do some mock drills, camping and testing and find out which tools are going to work best for YOU! .

It’s human nature to avoid thinking about life’s potential mishaps, but being prepared can mean the difference between a great outcome and disaster.
Select the kit or first aid supplies that are right for you and stop worrying. If that accident ever happens, you’ll be the hero who cared enough to plan.

The Emergency Preparedness Open House has been postponed due to current winter weather advisories calling for heavy snow and snow squalls.
The Open House has been re-scheduled to next Tuesday, February 25th from 5:30-7:30pm at the North Branch Library. We regret the Open House will not take place; however, safety is always our first consideration for all parties involved and the general public. Stay safe and warm, we hope you see you all next week!
So proud of these 5 & 6 year olds learning their toe pick takedown, transitioning to mount, ground and pound and escape from mount. 👊🏽
