I had the honor of being featured by @grombre ✨ A radical celebration of the natural phenomenon of grey hair. The community is SO supportive. Becoming is a process....and I’m elated that I found them. ✨
“Being silver for me means that I am able to be more of myself... peeling back the layers. I am beautiful. I am a woman maturing gracefully.
One thing that I have learned is that someone is always watching. By loving myself and being more of myself, I’m creating a space where other girls and women can do the same. I’m showing them another way to BE.” #grombre#gogrombre 📸 @melody_davis
Travel Tuesday: I can’t believe I’m saying this but I miss little ol’ Gainesville! Now that I’ve moved I wish I spent more time enjoying what the town had to offer. Sometimes we don’t have it in our budget to go away on a trip. Consider a staycation!
Many of us live where other people vacation. Take a day and look at your city with fresh eyes and a new perspective.
Do a little research! Chances are you haven’t done everything your city has to offer. I’d look for the best place to catch the sunset, try a unique dining experience, or stay a night in a nice hotel with the amenities that make you feel like you’re living lavishly. #gainesville#staycation#florida#vacation#theglobalchica#traveltuesdays

Swings by the Sea.. This resort was worth every penny, and it was not cheap 😩, but I had to experience this view. This resort was one big treehouse with different Villas. To connect more with nature, this Villa had no electricity, and no showers. There was a tub in the room with no privacy because the doors were made of glass and the tub was in the main room lol. There were candles everywhere in the room for lighting and a mosquito net around the bed. I still got bit a thousand times but it was still worth it. The mood and ambiance at this villa was nothing short of amazing. This resort was unlike any resort that I’ve ever stayed at, from the birds nest in the sky where you can have drinks watching the sunset, to the museum on grounds. 🌊
There are a few things you should NOT go on a long trip without and this week we discuss the most important ones.⠀
Yesterday’s tip was about fee-free checking and today we’re talking about travel insurance.⠀
Buy travel insurance. Do it. Please. Do it for me. Do it for your family. Do it for yourself. Before I started out on my gap year I purchased an annual plan from @allianztravelus that covered me for all trips of 60 days or less during a one year period. ⠀
I selected that over a plan that would cover all trips during the year, regardless of the length of the trip because I’m cheap, and my plan was thousands less than the other plans I saw.⠀
Slow down, don’t freak out when you see those numbers. I paid about $249 for travel insurance for a year, and it’s totally worth it for the peace of mind it creates while traveling abroad. ⠀
Anything can happen while traveling. I won’t get into the long list of misfortunes it covers, but I’ll leave you with this - if you know how much it would cost your family to bring your body home if the worst happened, you wouldn’t think twice about getting a policy that covers this expense.⠀
Do you usually buy travel insurance? If you’ve ever had to use it, did you think the coverage was worth the price you paid?⠀

When you’re moving at the speed of life it is easy to forget to stop and reflect.... so in this moment I’m gonna answer the question - What lifts you?
What lifts me is:
TOPIC: Safety Tips For Solo Travelers
Have you ever wanted to take a solo trip but you are afraid to make that step? The time is now!
Here are a few tips for your first or next solo trip! ✨
1. Stay in a Central Location: One of the worse things you can do as a solo traveler is to seclude yourself, especially if you are new to solo travel. It is highly recommended that you stay in a central location to ease the possible stress of navigating a new city alone and keeping your mind at ease for your safety.
2. Itinerary: Creating a sample itinerary is important for a smoother solo trip. Doing your research and booking as many things to do as possible, while not overloading yourself will help you to have an enjoyable trip!
3. Group Tours: You are not alone. Trust me, there are plenty of people who travel solo all year round and one of the best recommendations is that you book group tours with sites such as @viatortravel@groupon and @airbnbexperiences. There are various tours and activities that will allow you to curate your solo adventure experience to fit YOU.
4. Photos: Capturing the moments as a solo traveler can be difficult because who wants to only take selfies on a trip? Purchase a tripod from @amazon for your next solo trip and take your own photos! These tripods are compact and easy to carry. Also, one of the benefits of booking group tours is that your tour guide can serve as both your guide and a photographer at the same time!
5. Sharing: Never share exact details of your location in REAL TIME via social media platforms and never disclose your hotel information while there. This is not a safe practice for anyone, but especially as a solo traveler, you need to be more cautious. However, be sure to share your travel details and your live location with someone you trust prior to and during your trip.
6. Portable Charger: Invest in a reliable portable charger for your solo adventure. It is important to always stay connected, while still being able to disconnect when needed. #travelingwithniqua#twn#solotravel#solotraveltips#blacktravel#catchingflightswithniqua#blacktravelgram

Knuck if you Buckingham 🥊 Side note - if this isn’t the most basic touristy picture I’ve ever taken in my life 😂 oh well!
Embarrassingly unwoke questions/comments I’ve had since being in London: (1) Wait... is London in the UK or England? (2) What is Prince Harry’s last name? (3) Oh THATS what “mind the gap” means! I thought it had something to do with Brexit! (4) How far away are we from Great Britain? (5) Am I supposed to take the underground or the tube to King’s Cross station?
Slay on budget, so I vacay every every other month 😜

So sad these good weather days are over 😭can’t wait to go back to Barcelona next year🤞🏾ow, y’all don’t know how much courage it took me to upload this pic, might still take it down later tho 🤣
I’m just now winding down after a LONG, hot AND funky 24hrs! I caught a deal back in March to Brazil from DFW for $390RT. S/o to @cheap_dfw always saving me some bread 💰 initially I was going with a friend but life happens & I wasn’t missing this trip of a lifetime. I flew last night on @united, arrived to São Paulo & headed to Iguazu Falls (Brazil side) on @azulairline (they have the cutest flight attendants & some good snacks! The water even has a lid lmfao). Arrived and paid $15 for the taxi driver to take me to my Airbnb (near the Chocolate Coseiro store) and back to the Falls. The Brazil side can be completed half a day or just a few hours like I did. It cost me $17USD & I paid w/ my credit card. The view is breathtaking. I couldn’t believe I was there... alone... soaking it all in. I took the public bus back home (taxi driver told me his patna can take me home for $10...ummm nah!!) and it cost $1USD but I only had $5USD🥴 yep, I got yelled at by the cashier on the Metro bus lmbo. I got off at the bus stop and walked a block to my Airbnb. Now? I’m about to shower, eat my snacks from the states and go to bed. I’ll be exploring the Argentinian side of the Falls in the morning- an all day affair 🇧🇷 #justgeauxtravel#solotravel#brazil#blacktravelgram#blackwanderlust#iguacufalls#iguazufalls#azulairlines#unitedairlines#cheapdfw
Our kids are amazing! They are the reason why we do what we do and why we try so hard, but they also take our attention, time, and energy!
So when my husband had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam for work, I made it my mission to reach out to our village/tribe to see if anyone could watch our children while we reconnected in Amsterdam.
It certainly was a tall task that was almost thwarted by a family illness and inclement weather but through perseverance, dedication, family, good luck and faith, I was able to make it work. (Mom’s are magical)
I landed in Amsterdam around 5 PM on Friday and we left on Sunday at 1 PM. We made the most of our time together wandering the city center like two young lovers.
Yes, I would have loved to stay in that moment, in that bubble for a little longer, but what I have learned about life is to be thankful...because more will come. @florenciajadia 📸
Back in Peru a year later and I’m in love all over again! 🇵🇪 I’ve been in Peru for over 3 weeks now and I can’t get enough. .
Peru is the ultimate travel destination for me because its so diverse. You will find deserts 🏜 Vast lakes, the Andes mountains, Machu Picchu a world wonder, Rainbow mountain, parts of the amazon rainforest and so much more. If you are heading to the city of Cusco where your Machu Picchu journey begins just be prepared to have altitude sickness from the reduced oxygen levels. 😩 It’s been getting to me all week
Soul searching in Cambodia this year was everything I needed to recenter myself. I booked the flight 2 days before and I can’t say I have any regrets. I met some of the most incredible people, listened to captivating stories and stood in awe of centuries of history in Siem Reap. 🇰🇭
