DZISIAJ UMRZESZ TY
Ego Is The Enemy reveals how a tendency that's hardwired into our brains – the belief the world revolves around us and us alone – holds us back from living the life it makes us desire so much, what we can do to overcome it at every turn and how to achieve true greatness.
The 5️⃣ Big Ideas from "EGO IS THE ENEMY" book 💭👇by RYAN HOLIDAY
1) At any given time in life, we’re aspiring to something, we have achieved success, or we have failed.
2) We must cultivate humility, diligence, and self-awareness if we are to remove ego.

Mon avis :
La famille impériale de Russie fascine. Et me fascine.
Since it is a few #Saturdays that it is missing, today on the blog I published the #February appointment with the #Series column and, in particular, today I am talking about series published in #Italy with the " #TheDarkElements " series by #JenniferLArmentrout .
So probably you are wondering what are the #LexiRyan 's Jackson brothers doing in my photo? Well, the first reason is that I haven't had the #time to photograph TDE (shame on me, I know), the second is that, in short, look at them, aren't they all beautiful together? Plus, this series is now also published in Italy (three books have come out at the moment) so it's not out of place with the theme of the day (even if I show you the English edition) 😆
chained libraries store books with pages facing out on account of how the chains are attached to the covers and not the spines, which are frail things. i'd shelve my books this way if i were less practical. and if i were inclined enough to reorganize my shelves (which i should). anyway i'm just here to "flex" my @bbwbooksph haul from last week (in hopes of funding my next one). i've got my heart set on that mikhail bulgakov i was foolish enough to let go.

After purchasing at BBW, the next day, I can’t help but feel something odd. And I thought… Am I happy with the books I bought yesterday at the BBW? Yes. But I still feel like I just cleared someone’s warehouse and do them a favor by buying off their unused stuff.
Entering the BBW books section is like entering a huge warehouse. It does not offer that good vibe once I enter a bookstore with nice aesthetics. But BBW does trigger an overwhelming feeling where I’m suddenly lost in the pile of books. The genres was divided into tables and yet I’m unsure if I will have the energy to check every nook and cranny. But I had a clear goal. I went there to hoard and hunt books. I guess this is why people who goes at the BBW are called wolfies. And I think, it’s an effect that is in favor with the BBW organizers. It triggers readers to buy more than what we intend to.
What would it take for him to get his father's approval?
🦄🦄🦄 Suraj Bhatkal, a champion crockrter, quit the team for unknown reasons years ago.
But now, when the sport is all but forgotten, someone needs to bring it back to life.
Still fighting with his own demons and insecurities, will he be able to lead the team to victory?
Captain Khadoos is a fictionalnovel by Arjun Hemmady.
This book's central storyline is focused on sports with a bit of romance mixed into it.
The storyline itself is pretty basic, he struggles, succeeds, fails etc and the narrative of the book is also sub-par. At times it felt like I'm reading a summary of a book instead of the story.
The characters are straightforward, Suraj works hard for what he wants and fighters his battles; Aditi, his psychologist, loyal, caring, kind, smart.
The author covers a serious topic on mental illness very heavily and shows us that even celebrities have the same problems we do.
Overall I'd recommended it if you're a cricket fan.
In the Bible, the number 40 is very special; it is symbolic of a period of testing one’s faith. 🦄🦄🦄
Lord Please Forgive the Black Man is a self help journal by Darrell Arline that has been specifically targeted towards black men.
In this book the author speaks about how the average life span of a black man is 7 years shorter than a white man and how it can be combatted by means of Spirituality, a good diet and meditation.
It's a 40 days journey because (as mentioned above) the number 40 holds a very special place in a Christian's heart.
Most of the book is not the author helping the reader, but pushing the reader to help himself, and I think that everyone can learn something from this book.
This book is filled with Bible verses for spiritual motivation that are relevant to the particular chapter.
🦄🦄🦄 There's a 40 day workbook that is categorised and segmented into 10 days each.
Under, Lord, rebuild my misguided dreams, some of the questions that are asked for self evaluation are:
What has been your biggest accomplishment spiritually?
What would you like to accomplish spiritually over the next 12 months?
Overall, a good book but could be a bit more elaborate and helpful as this is something that we could easily find from other sources.
If love could move mountains, a mother's love could realign the universe.
The Lost Gold is a one hour novel by Kaushik Yegnan.
It follows the story of Andrei Kaufman's struggle to win gold during the Olympics which was the same time of World War 2.
It's a fast paced book that shifts between different times so it feels like playing s game of connect the dots to get a timeline.
There was a chapter that didn't seem to add anything to the storyline per se but provided an outlook on what people had to do because of the war. So I'm not really sure if it was relevant to the path the book was taking.
Also, the Olympics which is the central focus of the book is in 2008, but on the cover the medal says 2016 which is really confusing.
I loved the concept of connecting the past and present generations and making it into a good story.
I'm looking forward to read better one hour novels in the future.
For the beauty in your potential to be revealed, you need to work on reviewing and upgrading it.
Unearthing Your Latent Potential is a self-help guide by Ogbonnaya Agom-Eze.
Everyone has potential within themselves that is waiting to be unlocked.
Whether it is because we don't know what it is or because we are lazy, the author breaks down how we can tap into that and mine it out for the best results.
Please be aware that this isn't a normal self help book. When I say it's in depth, I mean you have to be ready to give your full concentration in reading this book because even though it's bigger than your average guide, it's worth it.
The author does not hold back in what he has to say.
Each chapter has a short summary at the end to help the reader grasp and refresh what was just said.
One of my favourite things in the book is called the refining process.
At the end we also get a mini- workbook that has questions that we need to ask ourselves as well as space to write whatever we want on a particular topic.
Overall, yes it's a bit long, but if you have the willpower to read the whole thing, I'm sure you will find it really useful.

Book Review Stack!
Got a long week ahead of me 😪
Melina L. 🦄
Death couldn't take him away from me. He was me. Our souls were bound.
Louise le Blanc, witch, hiding in plain sight in Cesarine after viewing never to practice magic again.
Reid Diggory, witch hunter (Chasseur) , lives by the rule: Thou shalt not suffer a which to live.
Lou and Reid, enemies, bound by Holy Matrimony after an unintended incident.
Reid has unknowingly vowed to protect his biggest enemy.
Will he keep his vow to the Church and end her life or his vow to his wife and protect her?
Serpent & Dove is a YA Fantasy novel by Shelby Mahurin.
First of all, for a DEBUT novel this is a brilliant book.
It has the very common hate to love trope and mix that with a bucketload of magic makes it a truly adventurous book
Lou and Reid's relationship is the most integral thing of this book as we can see their relationship grow overtime with Lou struggling to keep her true identity under wraps.
But, Lou's friendship with Coco is something you don't normally see which is refreshing. She's ready to jump leaps and bounds for Lou and was a definite scene stealer in the book.
This book definitely paved the way for an amazing sequel, but it was more focused on the relationship and character development rather than the plot which had more limelight at the end.
I listened to the audiobook before I got my hands on the physical copy because I just couldn't wait to read it.
I don't want October to be over. Because October means you.
Josiah and Deja have spent their high school lives working at the Pumpkin Patch every Halloween.
But this year is their last year before they move on to college and start new lives.
Josiah is not in the best of spirits because he has to leave, but Deja will do whatever it takes to make him feel better.
After ditching their job at the Succotash Hut, Josiah and Deja go on a mission to find Fudge Girl, Josiah's crush.
Pumpkinheads is a graphic novel by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks.
This book is a perfect read during Autumn with a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Josiah and Deja's friendship is really cute, adorable and heartwarming.
The pumpkin patch looks like such a fun place to visit and the delicious sweets that they have makes your mouth water just by looking at the pictures and Deja's expressions. 😂
Also, love Deja. She's full of life, loves food, a big heart and would do anything to get Josiah his dream date ♥️ even if it means losing her food. (Also she's hot the same body shape as me so yes I'm biased 😂 #represent )
I love the story as well as the beautiful illustrations.
The end was predictable but I don't care. This was way too cute to end any other way and I would have been really mad if it did.
Millie Goes to the Beach is a children's illustrated book written by by Erika Derry.
Millie and her friends go on an adventure to find a magical diamond in the ocean that will help her alien friends to go back to Mars.
This book is written in both English and Spanish with beautiful illustrations and an adventurous story in the vast waters.
They see many creatures that they haven't seen before as they move into the depths of the ocean to retrieve the prized possession..
🦄🦄🦄 Rated 100/100.
Mimi's Friends In New York by Maren Jäckel & Friends is an illustrated children's book about a pretty white cat named Mimi who wishes to go and visit New York.
Originally from Berlin she tells us the story of how she got there, what she experienced and the people she met.
This book is beautifully illustrated with a well written story for children along with a few easy German words that they can learn along the way.
And Then the Lights Turned Green by Megan Luthra is a collection of short stories about 5 strangers who stop at the same red light and just before the signal turns green, their lives are changed forever.
Every ending has a twist. There was one that had me cringing because it involved a child (read to find out more).
The other 4 were better but since each story ends abruptly after just 2-3 pages you're left wondering what happens next?
But that's the point of these stories, we don't know.
I really liked these stories but I wish there were more. Five wasn't enough.
Don’t Listen to the Stupid Person
Who Thinks It Would Be Fun to Stay
in the Old Abandoned House for the Night.
Never go into a stranger’s house
just ’cause you were invited.
Jacqueline is a ghost trapped in Mathswell Mansion because of a curse on the mansion.
Her aim is to stop others from getting trapped just like her but because no one can see or hear her she fails.
She lives in the mansion with other monsters, ghosts and unnatural beings that are not really friendly.
On Halloween night, a group of teenagers wander into the house and it's upto Jacqueline to save them before they all die.
Can she save them and free herself in the process?
The Teenager's Guide to Surviving a Horror Film is a YA paranormal comedy novel by Coral Aurora
This book is Coraline's, Monster House's and Caspar the Friendly Ghost's love child.
It's both scary and funny at the same time.
I love Jacqueline witty humour, Jack and his presence of mind.
Some of the other characters are annoying spoilt teenagers with a couple of teens with some brains in them.
Drake was the scene stealer of the book because his daddy issues mad me laugh so hard.
There are certain parts that logically don't make sense but I was LIVING for it.
That's what this book is, it's a fun book that anyone can enjoy because of the way it's written and I loved it.
The twist somewhere at the end was one I did not see coming.
But I loved it, loved it, loved it.
Warning: Mature content
Also using replacement words for certain things so that I don't get an extended ban on Instagram again.
I’m quitting; I’m done.
Dacia runs away from her abusive husband and moves 500 miles away from him.
But instead of finding peace she finds herself caught in a mess of 'powder', 'intercourse' and a load of bad choices.
Will she find the self confidence that she's looking for or will she always remain in bad situations?
Glue: Dacia's Diary by D.W. Plato is a Adult novel that is semi-erotic, semi-emotional and very heavy.
Multiple chapters are just focused on 'intercourse' and 'powder' was just too much for me to read.
I'm someone who does read erotic books but this was just way too much for me.
Dacia's character shows a lot of immaturity and that's what I would expect when a parent says pleasing a man is more important than anything else.
Yes, she was in a bad predicament with her marriage, but the choices she made after was very immature and makes her very unlikable.
She changed her ways in the last few chapters which just sped through so it wasn't the way I was expecting the book to end after going through every other detail about her life.
It wasn't a great read but maybe with a few adjustments, omissions and more depth to the story it could be better.
Brave Sir Keldin, the Knight of the Moon, His shield a shining disk. His lance aglow with a silver light, And blessed with the moon’s own kiss.
Merric has never belonged to his adoptive family.
Lord Roberd gave him a home after he lost his family during a tragedy.
Now, in the midst of the most disastrous moments of his life, Merric finds himself battling his biggest adverseries, but not alone.
HopeBearer by James Robert Wright is the first book of the High Realm Chronicles.
It's a YA Fantasy that reminds me of Game of Thrones but also reminds of Red Queen so if you've liked reading any of these books, you're in for a treat.
Starting with the plot; I loved it. It's not too boring, yet not too fast. The twists are well timed and not overbearing.
The author's description of the High Realm gives it a very captivating appeal.
I love the all the characters in this book.
Starting with Merric who is very humble and brave; Ana, Tomas and Kasper show him loyalty as friends and companions; Aric and Rayden are the non-magicsl versions of Lucius and Draco which I love.
This book is adventurous, heartbreaking and engaging.
I can't wait to see what happens next.
“We live in fictitious times.”
Aren’t all times fictitious?
I haven’t posted on Instagram for 5 days and didn’t mean to post anything today. But then I got carried away and took this photo in the library.
The Bluest Eye is Morrison’s first book (1970) and Sula is the second. Sula is among my all time favourites. I have high hopes for The Bluest Eye too. Set in 1941, the story tells that due to Pecola’s mannerisms and dark skin, she is consistently regarded as "ugly". As a result, she develops an inferiority complex, which fuels her desire for the blue eyes she equates with "whiteness"
What are you reading for #blackhistorymonth and #blacklitchallenge ?
I FAILED AT MY BOOK BUYING BAN!!! So I had every intention of NOT buying a SINGLE book for myself this year. Well. That’s funny. Because it turns out I have no willpower el oh el. I lasted one whole month- for those of you on a ban, how are you doing?? Also, see any favorites?
