Storytime! I finally found some time to share the video, photos, and the story of my EPIC #bouquettoss / best friend dance / AKA tribute/ RuPaul Drag Race lip-sync audition/flash mob/ husbae serenade.
So maybe two years, well maybe like 4 3/4 years ago because I was running on a treadmill unknowingly pregnant with Royal and well before Sirr even proposed when this idea struck me. But anywho, I was running on the treadmill listening to my playlist, mostly composed of #Beyonce dance hits, and Get Me Bodied started playing. THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONG IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! I love to dance but I love to dance to this song most of all. To me the song is so fun, freeing and unifying! Like, tomorrow isn't promised so live, love, and freaking dance! I may be the worst dancer or the best dancer you ever have seen but no matter your thoughts hunty I gives a SHOW!
So I thought to myself I would love to dance to this song at my wedding one day. Mind you Sirr won't be proposing for another 2 years so this was all a daydream but choreography continued to be created in my head every time I stepped foot on that treadmill and perfected the following years to come.
At first, only my bridesmaids and I would perform. Then, I really had to decide if I wanted to do the traditional AKA tribute done at most weddings. It's a beautiful moment singing the hymn with my LS's but it wasn't the vibe I was going for. I wanted them to turn up with me and the tribute could be incorporated in the entire dance. But oh no, I didn't stop there. I had this ambitious idea to have every woman in the room dance with me. Girl power, carefree, and fabulous was my goal.
I make a big deal about how every woman I call a friend or sister is apart of my story, making me who I am and I wanted to share this special moment with them in the spotlight. So I sent out a secret email to every woman on my guest list with the plan and video of the choreography! (image of the email included)
Weeks before the wedding I was so nervous that people didn't read the email or if they did, didn't practice and if I got out there on the floor it would be a HOT A MESS. I even thought about canceling it but...

Before Erin tossed her bouquet she announced that whoever caught it would be our first female US President!! 😉 Love that idea!!! 🎉🎉🎉 @erinbartley YOU should be our first!! 🇺🇸 😘
I spent most of the morning working on this gallery and most of the afternoon watching my baby work on her smile and listening to the airplanes fly overhead while she napped on my chest. ⠀
Isn’t that an interesting term? Spending time? Like its a finite commodity to be used wisely. And let me tell you, there is truly no better use of a day than soaking up snuggles and watching a baby watch you. ⠀
Introducing our newest creation, the floral bridal hoop 🎉 This gorgeous piece can easily be hung as a memento after your big day. These are fully customisable. We also have these available in smaller sizes for bridesmaids and flower girls. DM for more details.
What is the bouquet toss all about?
A long time ago, it was believed to be good luck to touch the bride after she is married. Women would rip pieces of the bride's dress or flowers off. In order to stop this, the bride started tossing her bouquet of flowers into the crowd and ran away. Nowadays, women will gather in an orderly fashion in hopes of catching it, giving them good luck and signifying their marriage happening next
Now, one for the girls! We just LOVE the emerald green dresses amongst the natural greens of the vineyard! 🌿💚🌿 #nextlevel#bouquettoss

The all important bouquet toss caught in motion

“All the single ladies, all the single ladies, all the single ladies-now put your hands up!” I wonder if Beyoncé knew at the time that this would turn into the most ubiquitous ‘tossing of the bouquet’ song-ever??? 🤷🏻♀️
Dang it! Now that’s going to be stuck in my head all day! 😒
This happens at 99% of weddings... it’s a hot day, your fingers are all chubby and swollen and your other half literally has to force that ring on! 🙈🤣 Buuuuut it does make for some great banter and equally great photos 📸 @riftphoto

💁🏻♀️Tips to the perfect Bouquet Toss:
1. Ask your florist to create a "toss bouquet" so that you don't have to throw your special one, or a bridesmaids.💐
2. Make it fun by choosing an appropriate song, and having the MC announce that all the unmarried girls should take to the dance floor.🎶
3. Aim your bouquet into the middle of the crowd of single ladies and let cupid do the rest. ❤️
4. Many brides feel that the bouquet toss is a lovely tradition that should be part of their wedding. However, if you really don’t want to include it there are plenty of other things you can do with your bouquet such as giving it to your mother or maid of honour, or having a bouquet dance where the bouquet is presented to the guests that have been married the longest.🌹👰 Beautifully planned and designed by @detailsbyhaleh
