I don’t know who I think I am but last night I went out to a bar. Like I was 21 again or something. My paying for it today because I’m 100 years old. But chick Fila will always make life right again. Anyone try their Mac and cheese yet?!?
We got to the end of golden hour on their wedding day and Jamie was cold, so we pulled the blanket out the trunk of our car and let them get cozy. Like I swear for a few moments they forgot we were there. They just closed their eyes and let the sun set. It was a goddamn Nicolas sparks movie (and I hate Nicolas Sparks). But this is exactly what we hope for all our couples on their wedding days. Moments of pure presence, gratefulness, peace. These images are beautiful, not just because the colors or light (and people!) are pretty, but because they were vulnerable with us. They showed their hearts to each other and we caught it on camera. I can’t say thank you enough—thank you for choosing us. ❤️

Hold me like the night holds the moon in its arms.
I love shooting the groom’s details. Especially when the pieces have a special backstory. The rosary was from his baptism and the cross necklace was a gift from his grandmother. I wonder if she ever thought her grandson would one day wear this special gift to marry his bride when she gave it to him. Such special, timeless details that deserved to be captured on his wedding day.

I'm holding tight to that night we had a ball!
Wow, we had a whirlwind of a weekend beginning with an adventurous elopement in Rocky Mountain National Park and ending with one of the most special, intimate weddings we’ve ever had the honor of witnessing. Everything about yesterday, celebrating Jamie & Kyle, was exactly why we do this job: in the hope of meeting people who make each other so undeniably happy, who’s love is palpable and joy is contagious. We captured their small wedding overlooking the mountains as the sun set with their close family and friends witnessing, and then headed back to their mountain lodge for a dance party in the living room. We’re so so thankful for these two and for all our 2019 couples. Here’s to you and to this beautiful year of love. ❤️ Thank you for welcoming us into your homes, your lives, your families, your best days.
With microspikes strapped to our boots, about 5 layers on each of us (except Andree, who braved the 10° weather with NO leggings under her dress 😳 do NOT recommend to my future brides, wowww.) Andree + Mitchell eloped in the wild mountains of Estes Park, Colorado.
We met up at 5am at their hike and walked out with flashlights in the dark. The trail was coveredddddd in ice, the winds were over 20 mph, and we had to slam our feet down so that our spikes on our boots could grip the ice.
We laughed, talked, told stories, and froze our butts off together. Was it one of the COLDEST elopements or shoots I’ve ever done? Without a doubt. Was it one of my FAVORITES?! Not even a question.
I knew I’d become best friends with these two adventurers from our first FaceTime call moooonths ago. They’re quirky, kind, wild, adventurous, and so dang real. They’re my people.
I’m not the photographer for everyone. I say that up front with any and every person who inquires with me or reads my website. I THRIVE in certain environments and not others. Could I barely feel my fingers to shoot my camera on this elopement? Yep. Was my creativity short circuiting from the entire experience?! YES. I was in my element. And that’s where I want to serve you.
If you’re down to get down and dirty… to freeze or sweat your butts off hiking a mountain, or get muddy or wet exploring the plains, or salty + sandy running around a coastline… I’m your girl. If you’re ready to forgo tradition and do what YOU want, what celebrates YOU and your UNIQUE relationship… maybe bringing along a few of the people who mean the most to you… or maybe just focusing on each other and celebrating one another while promising forever no matter what… I’m your girl.
And p.s. I’ll probably cry. No shame. 😉I friggin love my job. And you, if you’re one of my couples. You guys mean the WORLD to me. I’m so blessed by you.
Who else would elope in 10°, 20mph wind weather??? 🙋🏻♀️🙊😍

Let’s talk about the part of your wedding day that has the potential to be STRESSSSFUL: group/family photos. These normally happen after the ceremony and before cocktail hour. I’ve had multiple brides tell me they only need 15-20 minutes for these and I always suggest more time. Why? Because unless you have a very short list, it’ll cut into other parts of your timeline AND IF WE RUSH WE’LL MISS MOMENTS LIKE THESE! This is how Erin was greeted by both of her grandmas. We had plenty of time, Erin wasn’t stressed, and I didn’t have to ask people to look & smile the second they stepped in front of my camera. Give yourself a realistic timeline so you can actually enjoy the people who came out to celebrate you! I promise you won’t regret it.

Let this serve as a reminder that you deserve to be documented. Just as you are, you deserve to be documented.
To the mom that insists that the holiday cards only feature the kids because she just isn’t happy with her body right now
To the high school boy who is begging his mom not to make him take senior portraits and refuses to show off his braces when the camera comes out
To the grandmother whose home is filled with photographs of everyone except herself because she hates being in the pictures these days
To the middle aged guy who constantly has his phone out taking photos of everything and anything but never himself because he just doesn’t see the point
To the 20-something single girl who wouldn’t mind a few photos of herself but never takes them because she feels conceited unless she has something to celebrate
YOU deserve to be documented. It doesn’t have to be with a full face of makeup or in your favorite outfit. It doesn’t have to be on the edge of a breathtaking mountaintop. It doesn’t even have to be with a real camera. You deserve to have photographs that document the moment of life that you are in and the person you are right now. Don’t wait for your body to be a different shape or next big life milestone to let yourself be photographed.
The you that you are right now deserves to be documented. Don’t forget that.
I don’t know if it’s the month of November, or the simple fact that I’m listening to my “Spiritual AF” playlist (yes, I call it that), but I am feeling so grateful rn. ⠀
Sitting here editing photos, it’s dawned on me that I’ve been part of some really special moments as a photographer. I’ve been invited to watch people marry the partner of their dreams. I’ve been able to capture my friends (and people who become my friend) become parents— a dream they carried with them for so long. I’ve been able to capture simple moments that become memories between family members. I’ve witnessed couples share vows and have been the only other person present. ⠀
This is not a brag post. October was rough for me. I was inside my head, stuck in a rut, confused about the path in front of me. ⠀
But here, now, in this moment, I can realize that was everything I needed to bring me to this moment. One of gratitude and peace. ⠀
So thank you everyone who has trusted me to be part of your life in such a profound way. A way that will allow these tiny intricacies of life to live beyond time and space. Thank you with all my heart.

The first part of their engagement session was inside that golden grove behind. Swipe to see! Totally different perspective in a different lighting scenario 😻

Your reception is where you can really surprise your guests with details in your overall wedding design. Dinner tables are meant to be dressed — filled with beautiful, formal place settings, complementing floral arrangements, and ambient candlelight while maintaining functionality.
This tablescape we designed for a mountain top wedding reception at Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek last fall and it’s one of my very favorites ever ✨
