1927. This picturesque Tudor home is in the “Hilltop” neighborhood in Bronxville, and was built by architect Charles Lewis Bowman. Bowman was a draftsman for McKim, Mead, and White in the summers of 1911-1913 (while he was a student at Cornell), and went to work for them after graduating, but established his own firm in 1918. He was very prolific building homes in the Northeast, especially in lower Westchester County, New York. “Bowman left his most concentrated mark as an architect upon the community of Bronxville, designing 53 homes, all but one of which survive today.” (Wikipedia)
