Om mani pad me hung. Pray 108 times daily. Also to purify negative karma. Every morning before I do daily readings I meditate then recite the lineage prayer and chenrizig to help spread dharma. As a living bodhisattva I hear the cries of the universe and want all to benefit love, peace and happiness into your life.
The karmapa bestowed my dharma name "KARMA MOGU" which means Karma Devotion. I am devoted to you all and give compassion and love. I feel very lucky that I received my dharma name directly from the Karmapa. That's a huge blessing as I slowly understand the nature of my being as I walk the path towards liberation and enlightenment. @karmapa
A syllable-by-syllable explanation of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hung summarised from the Gyalwang Karmapa’s recent teachings on Chenrezig. The full, long-form teaching is available at the link below. https://kagyuoffice.org/the-karmapa-teaches-the-practice-of-chenrezik/
“Prepare your mind to concentrate, and sit down properly, facing the westward direction. Clearly contemplate on the sun with your mind firmly fixed on it. Not allowing your mind to wander, concentrate your thoughts on the sun which is about to set and looks like a suspended drum.” - Excerpt of the Contemplation Sutra
I don’t make it out to watch the sunset as much as I would like. Life often gets in the way. We spend so much time working, dealing with family, keeping our homes clean, and all the fun activities we do. But Sunsets are special. Each one is unique.
Throughout the year the sun changes position in the sky as the earth orbits it. The changes in atmospheric conditions affect the colors in the sky. The shape of the clouds reflects the colors and light in the sky. If you live on the West Coast like me, the Ocean creates a constantly changing and moving canvas for the sunset.
Do you want to hear a story of a Hindu prince?
Long time ago in Nepal there was a Hindu King who had a son. He was ready to give his son everything and wanted to keep him away from all problems of the world. That is why the prince was not allowed to leave the castle. The Hindu prince had everything what a worldy man needed. He had a wife, gold, etc. But the prince was never happy - he wanted to leave the castle and see how the world is.
One day when he was 29 years old he got out with one of his servants who took him to show him the kingdom.
During that journey, he saw 4 different types of people: a crippled old man, a fever stricken, a decaying corpse and an ascetic. He saw all of these things and realized that gold and money wouldn't help you to escape from pain and illness.
After that journey the prince left the castle at the age of 29 to explore the true meaning of life and spend the years by searching for salvation. He travelled from place to place until he found enlightment.
This prince was awarded the status of a Prophet and is known as Buddha (the enlightened one). After that he taught his teachings all over India.
In the Holy Quran there are two verses about a Prophet called Dhu'l Kifl: "And remember Ishmael, and Idris, and Dha’l-Kifl. All were of the steadfast(21:86), And remember Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu’l-Kifl; and all were of the best (38:49)
Hadhrat Khalifa-tul-Masih IV (rh) has stated that the Prophet mentioned as Dhu'l Kifl could be Buddha because Buddha was raised in a place called Kipel and because there is no letter" P" in Arabic, so that word is mentioned as Dhu'l Kifl - which means "the one of Kipel"

Your HEAVEN GATE is what I call the Crown Chakra. It is associated with your connection to the Universe and higher energy.
YOUR MESSAGE TODAY: "HEAVEN GATE"
It appears today for one simple reason. It's time to plug back in (your ego has slightly disconnected you) and recharge, direct from the source of all creation.
You actually do this from within your soul, when you're giving power to your soul, yet in times when your mind has gotten a little more of the foothold through fear and attempts at control, you can practice meditation and visualisation to recharge through this gate opening method.
I get the sense that this is simply the Spirit's way of giving you everything you need mid-journey. Almost as if you've travelled really far and your electric car is about to run out of battery, then suddenly a recharge station appears out of nowhere in front of you.
This is your day to pause, sit with what you've understood, release any need for fear activated action or reaction, and sit in the stream of energy as your being refuels itself. Which is simply you returning to a state of being the soul.

- Bouddha #picture#picoftheday#pictureoftheday#zen#zenattitude#bouddha#buddhism#meditation
The other day, I met with a Buddhist/Catholic priest named Andrew to discuss everything from consciousness to healthcare to theology. His insights as both a practicing Buddhist and Christian were profound, yet simple; enlightening, yet obvious. One thing he told me in particular that really stuck was this: “become aware of your feet”. So often, he said, we go on autopilot. We do our work, we talk to people, and we go places mindlessly. We always have the destination in mind, but rarely live in the present. He said, if you really want to stay grounded (both literally and figuratively), pay attention to your feet. Feel the ground when you walk. Notice the sensation inside your shoes. This is perhaps the easiest form of mindfulness you can practice, but it is a great step to becoming more aware of where you are in the present moment. Try it out. #eunoe#goodMind#mindfulness
Check out my new post (link in bio) for an in-depth look at the meaning of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Our interpretation of the mantra can go much deeper than the literal translation of the words, and understanding the essence of what we're saying can make our practice even more profound and effective 💖

TW: mention of self-harm.
if you know me well, you might know that in my teenage years, golf was a torment. i succeeded, moderately, but felt miserable and trapped. emotionally blackmailed into living the dreams of others. (hi, Jackson on Season 2 of Sex Education!) i even resorted to self-harm as an attempt to escape.
i couldn’t wait to get out.
years later, it’s now a danceable delight to go and hit a few balls (half a bucket donated to us by a nice lady) with a good friend, on our own terms, in a beautiful foggy forest.
once a torment, now a treat.
from a #Buddhist perspective, a similar thing is happening inside me, these days, with thoughts and awareness.
when i have no control over my mind, my awareness, and how i relate to my thinking — when i’m being dragged along compulsively by my own thoughts — little room exists for the grace of the present moment. and though it might feel normal or even pleasant sometimes, to be swept along by the torrential mind, ultimately it leads to torment.
but when i can *choose* (through a lot of practice, and many years of ripening) to relate to thoughts within the spaciousness of awareness, thoughts become just another sensation, a facet of being alive and embodied.
thinking, too, can turn from a torment to a treat.

The full quotation is : The Supreme Lord said: I am mighty Time, the source of destruction that comes forth to annihilate the worlds. Even without your participation, the warriors arrayed in the opposing army shall cease to exist. 🕉
