💰Money Saving Advice - Pay your bills on time – avoid late fees and grab a discount
Paying your bills on time is a great way to keep your credit record clean. If you struggle with your bills, consider setting up a regular repayment amount to even out the cashflow.
With apps/websites etc like: @youtube@airbnb@fatlama@hiyacar@drivy@gumtree@ebay@fiver@linkedinn@canva@instagram and countless others that I definitely don’t know about... the opportunities are endless. Putting your skills (old and new), talents and services in front of the people that need it and will be willing to pay you for it has never ever been easier! .
I am sorry bro/sis you have absolutely no excuse if you put in the work you can definitely do and be better than where you are at now.
Like I said before, “If the money is not enough stop complaining and do what you need to do to make some more!”

Kia Ora everyone,
So far it has been a hectic month with money... I overspent when my sister and nephew visited me from NZ. Even though I saved $1000, I ended up spending closer to $1600.00 and naughty me took money from my other savings account and envelopes to make up the difference. Good news is I didn’t spend any money using debt which would not normally be the case.
I introduced my sister to the budget mom & Barefoot Investor (BFI) with cash envelopes and she loved it! now were both obsessed lol
I printed off the Budget by pay check workbook for my sister, the envelopes, we went through her budget and she highlighted her transactions and had the same ‘Wow’ moment I had on what I actually spent my money on. She’s told her friend back in NZ who my sister said is even more excited than she was to start.
I resigned from my job last Monday and leave officially on 8/11/2019 starting my new job on 13/11/2019.
My fortnight pay day will change to the other fortnight when I didn’t get paid so I have done my budget until the end of December & estimated my budget on the lowest amount of income so I can make sure that I have enough money for everything.
This is the month where I made my first extra debt repayment towards my snowball plan. I paid $400.00 towards my smallest debt (snowball), an extra $140 to my credit on top of my minimum payment (not snowball) and $130 towards rate arrears, ANZ CC and NZ student loan (on-going minimum payments I decided to make, save into my FE account to make a big payment towards each in six months’ time). The BFI says, ‘Tread your own path’ and I believe in this quote because everyone’s circumstances and budgets are so different, so I do what works for us rather than sticking to snowball and avalanche methods strictly by the rules.
After having ‘resistance’ feelings as per my earlier post to making extra debt payments on top of my minimums, it feels so good to make extra debt payments as many wise people in this community said it would.
Has anyone else introduced their budgeting systems to their friends and family? If so, how have they taken to your advice and resources?
Mug of the morning for me. There's never enough coffee in the world when I wake up. Nectar of the gods haha. I love coffee I have done ever since my dad made me a cuppa as a kid. Back then he used to drink Mellow Birds. He also loved a cup of tea but unfortunately tea doesn't agree with me even though I like it. I can have a cup every now and then though. When I do drink it I like a cup of Yorkshire tea or morning breakfast tea. What's your favourite?
" I spent 25% more than my MAX budget"💸
These are the words from my past event stratey session client, Kathryn who hosted her very FIRST Teacher Empowerment event on 5th October.
We recently had a follow up chat and went through her experience. She described it to be "surprisingly" more difficult than she ever thought it would be and she spent more than her max, max budget. Which was what she was most surprised at, as with her business and personal finances she is super disciplined.
And this can happen so easily, as all the things that are deemed as "small" pack a mighty punch at the end.🥊
Here are a few costs she didn't think about..
.. brochure printing
.. staff uniform (t-shirts)
.. staff refreshments
.. car parking
This quickly highlighted, that her budget needed to be alot more detailed and inclusive of every single penny that was forecasted. But as silly as this sounds, for a first event, these errors are so common because you simply don't know, what you don't know.
So its important to brainstorm and research the common things that are forgotten.
What other small items do you think that you will need BUT might forget?👇🏾

This dress was brand new with tags from eBay! Paid £1.20 plus £3 p&p total bargain love it!
Thank God it's Monday!🙌🏿 I hope you had a great weekend and more importantly stuck to your budget. 👀😏🙄I'm pleased to report that I did stick to budget this weekended, despite a cheeky trip to Mc Donalds with the family after church yesterday evening ( sorry, not sorry!).🙈
There's something special about Mondays, it feels like a fresh start and a clean slate to go hard on goals not quite accomplished in the previous week.
Self-discipline is one I'm still working towards mastering, but day-by-day I'm getting better at it. Saying NO to self and to others without feeling guilty for it is so freeing.😀
I know what I'm trying to achieve ( #mortgagefreeby40 ), it's a bold and ambitious goal which is going to require great disciplne and sacrifice. But anything worth having is worth working hard for so I'm going to keep on grinding. 💪🏿
Share something you want to achieve this week? Let's encourage and motive each other to get there. I'll go first. One goal is to complete the audio book for The Richest Man in Babylon. I can't lie its been a struggle to understand the book as the style of writing is old English. What is something you want to achieve this week?

Have had a couple of hectic weeks so haven’t been posting much of late.
Here’s some of the deliciousness we’ve been eating:
Baked spuds with Mexican mince
Puff pastry pizzza parcels (these were invented by the husband on the spur of the moment and were amazing!)
A big double batch of lemon slice
Beef burgers on brioche buns
Frugal meals filling our bellies ❤️

Tim and I just finalized our plan of attack with slamming hardcore into the debt payoff. It is daunting, exciting, hope filled and mostly challenging as we made our plans for what is to come these next two years. We are using this board as monthly inspiration and will have our current debt payoff goals, quotes and words from our Father for guidance. Finally having a plan is the most peace and reassurance I’ve had about paying off our debt since nursing school- and man does it feel good!
Ask me any questions- I am putting our story out here for others to gain inspiration and hope that they can too! We are generally following the @daveramsey method —-> if you want more info on that follow this link:
Oopsie.....we went a 'little' over budget with our grocery spend last week 🙄 We got a Costco membership! On the plus side, buying in bulk will save us money in the long run. We're already ahead! We won't need to buy toilet paper, soy sauce, cereal or fabric softener in the forseeable future 🤣 And yes, I look at the cost per 100g to make sure I'm saving money.
And seriously, who doesn't love an oversized bags of chips 🤤

💸 RRSPS. You’ve likely heard of this acronym before, it stands for registered retirement savings plan. Listed below are a 2 ways it could benefit you:
𝟙) Tax deductions - the government gives Canadians a small break as contributions to this plan result in an upfront tax deduction. On average every $1000 contribution will result in a $400 deduction. If you’re a high income earner who owed taxes last year you should really consider opening up a RRSP plan. Contributions are twofold because you can invest the funds to simultaneously grow your long term savings TAX free.
𝟚) First time homebuyer - you can withdraw up to $25,000 from your RRSPS tax free under the first time homebuyers plan. This is huge as many young Canadians struggle when it comes to purchasing property.
✨ Stay tuned for tips on making sound financial decisions.

" May your love continue to grow each and every year. "
My niece Victoria is meticulous about all her belongings. She tracks who borrows her art tools how long they keep It is a fierce negotiator and will make herself the leader of any projects at school or in the playground. So I wasn’t surprised today when she negotiated how much of her birthday money to take to the pumpkin patch. As all smart negotiators she started high with her full $50. I said no, that is too much cash to have take $5. She countered with “ how about I give you $5 so I can take $45!’’ Lol I admit this was a clever counter offer (even if it was a bribe) . .
We agreed at $30 but I told her she would not spend the whole amount, after all I knew she just wanted to feel “ rich” . .
To my surprise she grabbed her little notepad and mermaid pencil and said, “ tia I need to write down how much money I have “ .
And so she wrote a little note to herself of how much money she had (income) and after we finished our day she tallied the cost of her popcorn and small pumpkin she purchased (expenses) We subtracted both and made sure the remaining amount is the actual cash she had in her little pockets (mostly because I was afraid she would loose her money) .
Through out our conversations we talked about saving 10 % and keeping cash in a safe spot
I take these small opportunities to talk money in order for her to feel comftorable with this subject but also to instill good habits
What are some money practices you do with your kids/ nephews?
I want to try them out!
Sitting here thinking of what to type... It's impossible to put such an incredible year in a simple text... All I have to say is it's been a rollercoaster indeed, but I wouldn't have had it any other way..we've grown so much together my love... And every day you continue to show me the reason why I love you and treasure you Soo much... I would walk down that isle into your arms all over again my love... Marrying you has been the biggest blessing... here's to one year down and a lifetime to go.......❣️ 10.20.2018 .
This week’s spending. Took out $44 from my Misc. Sinking Fund for a Birthday Lunch at work and Halloween Party Contribution. The rest were expenses for restaurants and beauty categories. Not so bad but not so good either. How’s yours?

It's the most wonderful time of year.
With everyone looking ahead to the Yuletide season it's easy to get lost in the hussle of it all.
Take a moment to enjoy the company of friends, family and a warm fire (candles work too!). You don't have to spend money to make memories.
I have been 100% debt free since the very end of 2018. I can't believe it has been less than a year.
So many doors of opportunities opened after paying off my debt. It felt like a huge weight was taken off my shoulders. I have witnessed how my life has changed with my son.
Have you ever felt like you can't really put all of yourself into something until you're debt is gone? Like you are almost stuck, when deep down you have this major part of your life you want to start and tackle?
That's exactly how I felt about having a home of my own, a place that my son and I could truly make ours.
Since paying off my debt, I have now saved more money then the amount of debt that I paid off. It's like I came out of the debt gate running full force.
Not only did my goals change, but so did my vision of my future. All of sudden retiring early, traveling more, and experiencing even more with my son seemed like a true possibility. A new reality that I felt like I could actually live.
In a way, I wish I would have found this new sense of life while I was paying off my debt. But maybe this is what makes it all worth it? Please know it's worth it.
It doesn't matter how far you are. How much you have to pay off. How fast it's going to take you. There is something at the end and it's worth fighting for. #debtfreecommunity

Budgeting with me does not equal deprivation of YOU. My goal is to teach you to do ALL of the above. I’m not in the business of telling my clients they shouldn’t go on vacation, they shouldn’t buy that new outfit and they shouldn’t purchase that nice bag. I’m in the business of telling my clients how to take care of needs FIRST...and tthheenn let’s have us a good time💋. Let’s buy ONE of those really cute bags. And when you’re going on vacation...get your hair done sis! You gotta do it cute!! Because what good is living if you can have a good time to show for it?! •
Don't fall for these classic autumn budget busters.

It’s a hard pill to swallow because it always feels like more money will help.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you had more than you could pay off that credit card or save more. All you need is an extra $500 per month then all your problems will be solved.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But when extra income comes, somehow we adjust and still need MORE.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The only way to gain real control is to start with tracking and reducing your expenses. Once you gain control of how you spend money, you gain control of it ALL. #theorganizedmoney
