Family dinner Sunday 🤎 today I will be cooking up some lamb with potatoes and Brussel sprouts!!! ( we call it crying leg of lamb) Check out why we choose that name and how simple the ingredients list and the steps and preparations are! 👇
1 leg of lamb,2 tablespoons olive oil,5 cloves of garlic , 1 tablespoon rosemary, chopped 2 tablespoons thyme, chopped 12 kg potatoes, 50 g butter salt and pepper
How it’s done:
Remove the fat from the leg of lamb, cut 3 cloves of garlic into sticks and pepper the leg of lamb with it. Salt and pepper the leg and rub it with the oil, rosemary and thyme. Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices about 4 millimeters thick. Butter a baking dish larger than the leg of lamb and spread a first layer of potato slices, salt, pepper and sprinkle with chopped garlic. Distribute flakes of butter and do the same with the second and third layers. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place the leg of lamb on a grill in the upper third without searing. Place the casserole dish in the lower part of the oven directly under the leg of lamb. During the cooking process, meat juice emerges from the leg of lamb - hence the name weeping leg of lamb - and drips directly onto the potato slices, which give them a very nice taste. The cooking time naturally depends on the size of the leg. For me it took a little over an hour. In the meantime, loosen up the potatoes, if they get too dark, turn down the temperature. Once the leg is cooked, cut the meat into slices or pieces and spread it over the potatoes.
On December 14th 2018 I handed in my resignation from my full time job. A job where I was absolutely miserable.
This week marks ONE year since making that decision and I can honestly say, it was the best decision I have ever made! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I wanted to spend some time really reflecting on what this past year has brought for me (both the good and the challenging too), so have written a little blog post about what I've learnt from running my own business this year.
Head to "Real Talk" on my website to read 💁🏼♀️
If you’re a client of mine and are reading this, I’d like to say a huge THANK YOU for trusting me with your vision. I genuinely couldn’t do this without you and I’ve loved being part of your journey so far! ❤️
To those of you who have supported me along the way (both in person and online), listened to me, given me advice and encouraged me, THANK YOU! You’ll never know the impact you have on me, how your words lift me and remind me that I can do this and I’m pretty damn good at it too ❤️
I’m really excited to see what next year has in store, to start new projects and also finish ones that have been on the back-burner for too long now! 🙈

If you’re anything like me when the end of the year is fast approaching, you want to move on to the next.
I see people already on social media rushing to make goals and strategies for 2020 or compiling that final to-do list to tick off 📋✏️
BUT HOW CAN WE EVER JUST TRULY VALUE what we have in our businesses, our teams, the family who support us and mostly who we are and what we bring to the table if we never really celebrate what we have accomplished 🎊
Because if we don't... how do we or our teams ever know WHAT WILL BE ENOUGH?
I actually find it incredible to look back at what I have accomplished this year in my business.
As I scrolled through my Instagram (because is there a better visual journal?) I realised I didn't even have a logo in December 2018 because quite honestly, I didn't even realise I had a business! 🙈
I saw myself as a freelancer who helped salon owners from my own experiences and well since then:
✨I got a website
✨I got a mentor
✨I hosted three FORUM events
✨I had a full day with Helen Jacobs
✨I held a retreat that was kinda DIVINE
✨ I was a finalist in two national awards (even after I swore, I would never enter again)
✨I wrote and delivered an entire national education calendar for a corporate company.
✨I presented on two stages at the Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo
✨We presented as a group at Platform Society.
✨I had a salon owner achieve by November what she did in all of 2018! What exactly does that mean? Well, Christmas is an entire month of profit...
✨I had 2 salons double their figures.
✨I had salon owners reduce their teams to who only should be really in them.
✨I built a business village with Vickylee and Ange.
On top of all that, I got so legit that I even do a blog and a newsletter 🙈
So, my wish to you to finalise the year is put 2020 aside until you take the time to reflect on all of your wins, celebrate your accomplishments and truly thank who helped get you there👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
💸 5 THINGS I WISH I DID BEFORE LEAVING MY 9-5 💸
Ya girl was DONE.
I don’t know about you, but I was LOSING it.
I was fed up with…
🙅🏾♀️Showing up every day to a job I HATED
🙅🏾♀️Having my mindset + my energy depleted DAILY
🙅🏾♀️And doing work I wasn’t truly 100% ALIGNED with
So, having a plan FIRST? 🤢🤮
Bun dat. I JUST QUIT. 👏🏾👏🏾
No plan + no clarity + zero clue what I was doing.
But from there, it was easy to figure out right?
um... NO. 😂
Here’s the tea, sis.
I STRUGGLED. 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃.
𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘳𝘭𝘭𝘭, I’m ALL for ditching your 9-5 and giving your boss the hand 👋🏾 on the way out.
But I don’t want you making the same mistakes I did.
So, here are 5 things for you future boss babes I WISH I had done FIRST ⬇️
1️⃣𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐏 at least 3 months' worth of bills! Hustling to pay the bills wasn't good. And trust me love, you look DESPERATE as hell trying to find a client to keep the lights on 👀
2️⃣𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐆𝐍𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐃 it would take 𝗪𝐎𝐑𝐊.
I see you out here getting inspo for that hustle. No tea, no shade, but you won’t reach your business goals sitting on your bum scrolling
3️⃣𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐄𝐃 for 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 sooner.
I wasted massive amounts of time trying to do it alone and not seeing results. Admit what you don’t know and ASK for help. Take your biz to 💯 (the smart way)
4️⃣Set 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑 revenue goals.
Know your worth, voice EXACTLY how much you want, and charge dat 💸 Set your rates and DIS those low-ball clients
5️⃣Created a 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 of action.
Smash through your fear and just do it already. A plan will let you execute like the boss you are so you can STOP spinning in circles (again)
So are you fighting with any of these?
How about confidently charging what you’re worth?
I’m about to drop my amazing 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 training to 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 price your packages for 5K months!! 💸
We’ll be talking all about how to set your rates reach your revenue goals
Drop an 🙋🏾♀️ emoji below if you’d like an alert when it's ready 👇🏾

“I love stories. I love books. I love words. I love thinking about how people reason and argue. And all of these things are central to the English major. In the classes I teach, we work on how to be better thinkers, and we study how literature and language reflect the human experience. What could be better than that?”

Daniel Green, an assistant project manager, shares why he finds working in #construction enjoyable and rewarding.

I almost 💩 my pants
I called my boss over we went into the boardroom and I handed her my notice, which read..
‘𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬, 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦. 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝟼/𝟽 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴? 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵?
(𝘴𝘢𝘺) 𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘢.. 𝘗𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘰 𝘐 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳’
Erm not quite haha but it did say I quit😂
I knew I wanted to leave and set up my own business, but I kept letting fear get in the way and I didn’t really know how to do it either.
But I knew I wanted it!
So I set myself a goal, before the end of summer, I would be out of that frying pan and into one that I actually liked the smell of (haha I’m terrible at analogies)🤦🏾♀️
I took the leap and left, was it the wrong decision?
Was it the right decision?
𝐇𝐦𝐦, 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. 👀 You see I jumped before I had set myself up to succeed, without a SOLID plan of action, and without the set expectation of an income (or savings), it was madness🤯
But hey, I grafted, I worked hard, I got support and eventually I landed here today.
But once I did quit it also took me months to actually get clear on who I wanted to serve, how I would help them and importantly reach my financial goals!
I had BILLS, BILLS, BILLS 💸
Trust me when I say it was not fun, but I got there.
Tomorrow, I’m going to tell you 5 things I wish I did BEFORE I quit.
Girrlll tell me the scariest, the silliest but most rewarding thing you’ve ever done below👇🏽

My family is at the core of my business. Without their support, I could not spend the time and effort on my business that I do! ⠀
This is why it is so important to make time for them too! After all, aren't they part of the reason that you do what you do? At least for me, they are! This is why I focus on the things that I can do and love and leave the rest to someone else. ⠀
We like to take fun trips, at least a few times a year. To say that we LOVE Disneyland, is an understatement. Lucky for us, it's not too far of a drive to get there! Where do you like to vacation with your family? Any favorite spots?
(READ CAPTION) Successful businesses are not created by a snap of a finger and are not only built on hard work but by making important, smart decisions. Each decision we make affects the success of our businesses so it is important to take the time to get it right! How do you make difficult business decisions? Share your tips below! 🔥
