• #atlas (1/3) : a handcrafted publication that revolves around the abstract concepts of #psychogeography (the mapping of my sentiment) and #topography (the measure of my sentiment) to document the locations i was fortunate enough to travel to that impacted my identity✨for this project, i wanted to challenge myself to explore mediums in hand drawing and collaging, atypical from the digital vector illustrations i always make 😂 inspired from the districts i documented and things that made my first impression of the place 🌻a snippet of the hand drawn signage and topographic elements used throughout my book, created from #procreate !

[穿新衣 Wear New Clothes - SOUND ON 🔈 ] One of the traditions for Chinese New Year is to wear new clothes, and often red items! Back in the day, farmers would work hard throughout the year and only get their income at the end of the year, so that’s when they’re able to buy new clothes. New clothes also signifies a fresh start to a brand new year! People wear red because it is an auspicious/lucky color. Oftentimes women even wear red bras and knickers, so lingerie companies sometimes come out with special “CNY edition” red underwear during this time! Did you know that? 😆👙 .
My new red dress for this Lunar year is from @eastmeetsdress - a modern yet beautiful take on the traditional cheongsam/qipao by two Asian American women. Remember to use my code “TINA10” for 10% off any items from their store! (Partner)
