Some Poldark business ❤️Copper has been mined here in Cornwall for a long time. 18th c Copper was more important than tin in the mining world. ⚒ Peeps have been mining in the Southwest since 2150 BC ...that’s since the early Bronze Age!Recently mining ended when South Crofty closed in 1998
after over 400 years.
I don’t know nearly enough about it & quit watching #poldark after a rape scene - totally unnecessary for all involved. I did love guessing where they were in all the outdoors scenes so I might revisit the series.
Personally I haven’t had chance to visit the Poldark mine near Helston but have visited Levant & Geevor in West Cornwall. I can highly recommend if your down this way. @heartlandscornwall has a super play park, visitor centre & small business area. They also put on some wonderful events & the food place is a treat too. Also @eastpoolminent is lovely to walk around learn some more from the films 🎥 Exhibition. There is space to have a little pick-nick outside & make some drawings of this awesome Cornish Heritage. Some places are owned by the @nationaltrust so if you join you can visit more than one & some other awesome places here in #cornwall like @stmichaelsmount
Anyhow here is a picture of a ring I made with Eco-Silver & locally sourced reclaimed Copper. Now swipe to see more of my work in Copper & a beautiful Cornish Copper sunrise🌅 If you wouldlike to see more of my work or commission a piece then head over to the links on my bio @theowlinthearttree or @mjhscontemporary to see more of my work. These pieces are in Exhibition @galericaernarfon another beautiful Celtic nation on our little island x
+The concept is the same - a pill for every ill. Most supplements do more harm than good, and most people peddling them are huckster salesmen without necessary knowledge of physiology and the effects of their products. +When you view the body as nothing more than atoms and chemical reactions you think it is some machine where you can isolate and fix component parts. It doesn't work like that. Everything is interconnected and you can't tug on one string without impacting the entire fabric. +Food is information. It is the height of the reductionist, scientific-materialist mentality to equate vitamin C made in a lab to the vit C you get from an orange. The information is not the same.
See my post on the photoelectric effect of food for clarification. +Let's look further in to vit C. Synthetic vit C is called "ascorbic acid" and likely derived from GMO corn processed using volatile acids. Ascorbic acid causes copper to be released from ceruloplasm (a copper carrying protein). The effect is too little bound copper and too much unbound copper. At least 21 enzymes are copper dependent, one is cytochrome C oxidase which is a key component of the ETC where your cells make energy. Copper also prevents free radical formation. This is just a fraction of one example.
Whole food vit C doesn't do this! +This goes for work out supplements too - BCAAs, creatine and protein powders are all bastardizations of real animal protein. You would be much better off eating bone broth, organs, and fatty cuts of meat. Not powders and pills with preservatives and carcinogenic food dye. +Your mindset, your light environment, the water you drink, your EMF environment, the food you eat, time spent outside, your relationships, how you spend your time (job you hate or something you love) are all profound drivers of health and will do more than any pill ever could. +We are always searching for the easy way out. There are no shortcuts to health and quality of life. #supplements#health#ascorbicacid#vitaminc#copper#nutrition#health

Having difficulties with my mobile phone lately.. it turnes down as soon as I try to take a photo 😞 and I am really satisfied with that camera. Hubby has a brand new phone, camera should be much better than mine but I just cannot adjust it right. Spent last few days trying to get something of it - didn't work. And I should get my Etsy shop out of vacation mode 🙃
Hi Folks! How are you doing today?
Apparently, it's Blue Monday today and I'm trying to wrap my head around the need to find the most depressing Monday in the year 😂 I really can't fathom why, you'd do that, I just can't!
How was or is your day then? You doing OK? 🙂
I'm slowly going through my never-ending to do list and sent these 3 heart pendants off to their new home today, hoping the new owners will be happy 🤞🙂 they were a good lesson that I can't do simple, lol. Complex things come more naturally to me than that, ooops!
In the process to creating a new collection the road is a lot longer than you might think. I plan to release a new collection later this year and this is a photo of a preliminary piece getting cleaned up in the pickle pot...but I started imagining the collection in early 2019. Read on to find out some of the steps I take when building a new collection: ......................................... I spend a lot of time thinking about what I want to do...months probably, and then I start to draw what I imagine. You'll find pages in my sketchbook just covered with prototype designs........After that I sometimes put my designes into a computer program to make them a little more symmetrical and print them out.........then I think and think about the best way to make them........... I'll usually come up with several ideas and try them all out...then I pick the best one........ I don't have a fully stocked jewelry studio, so once I pick my method, that usually means I need to go on the hunt for the right tools for the job.................. I finally picked out my tools and ordered them at the beginning of this month. And now I am working with some copper before I bring the designs to life in silver. I still have supplies to research and order but some time later this year I'll have a firm date on when the new collection will be released. I'm excited for it because I've put a tonne of thought into it and I'll be putting in equally as much work! I think you're gonna like it!😁
Renewal- Commission Geode inspired Abstract Art, Resin on Wood. 🌱
My client had the most wonderful concept- Renewal, a concept I fell in love with because don’t we all renew ourselves daily? Learn from life lessons & try to spring forth to fresh new (better) beginnings? Let us never forget that our ability to renew ourselves in the face of challenges life throws our way is what makes each and everyone of us unique and special. 🌿
So this geode inspired abstract art has rust browns and oranges of fall, leading onto limes, yellows and greens of spring. It is earthy, almost like it’s a gem from Mother Earth. Every Orange & Green embellishment (esp glitter leaves) has been carefully placed to allude to leaves on gilded branches. 🍂🍃
Loaded with real quartz crystal points of various sizes, glass, stones and other accents, I wish for this piece to bring lots of positive energy to its forever home. Whether my client, who is based in Malaysia, wishes to hang this as wall art or use it as an accent piece on a table, this beauty is sure to be a conversation starter. Swipe to see some details! 🍂🍃
This piece is also special because my clients knew 15% of all my proceeds are going to the Australian Red Cross & they wanted to be a part of it. So honored that they chose me for a part of their donation effort🙏🧡
