Happy Saturday lovelies 🌿
I promise I feel a lot less miserable than I look in this photo this weekend even though I woke up naturally at 7.15 this morning when I was hoping to have a nice long lie in 🥴
Oh well, I started the day watching an episode of Top of the Lake (I’m now hooked it’s so good) in bed and then dying charlies hair before breakfast. Then off to the rugby and going out out later - which is very unlike me, I’m usually an indoor cat for these types of things 😂
Anyway, I hope you’re all having a lovely Saturday too! 💛

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday.
There's nothing like the sea air to dust of those cobwebs and it's safe to say, after a few days being stuck in the house we've got quite a few!
I am hoping today we manage to get out a bit more and enjoy the last few days of half term before we have to get back to normal for school.
But I've got that feel that one will become better just as the next one catches the dreaded bug.
I do try to stop these two from practicay licking each other but it's almost impossible 🤦🏽♀️ they are glued to the hip and those germs just spread like wild fire 🙈

Half term started off amazing.
And then it's quite quickly fizzled.
All our fun plans have had to be put on hold as the bugs have taken over and today's highlight was an hour wait in the doctors surgery...
I'm solo parenting, during half term with poorly kids and a poorly dog, its Friday night... the wine is making an appearance and I can not wait!

Half term inspiration. Cornwall is home to many incredible gardens, one of them being the sub-tropical Trebah Gardens located on the Helford River near Falmouth 🌴
With over 4 miles of footpath, Trebah Gardens is an absolute paradise with exotic blooms and its own secluded beach. The best part? It's just a half an hour drive away from the Penventon Park Hotel.
OFFER: Don't forget, that children stay free when you book a superior family room! 👏🏼 ⠀
I’m still alive! I haven’t been posting much because I just need a bit of an Instagram reboot but I am back with a question for you. My blog, From Lucy with Love, has been a project of mine for years in various forms and I’ve reached a crossroads with it now. I need your thoughts if you have a minute to comment...
I’m at a point where I need to think whether people a) even read blogs anymore and b) whether I have anything people want to read. I LOVE writing posts, that part is never in question, but I am a little concerned that no one will be interested in the ramblings of this brain! As you know, I enjoy writing about things I’m grateful for, mental health, business bits and pieces and some random Cornwall things too.
Next week I turn 39 and I guess I am worrying that what I have to say isn’t exciting enough. I’ve reached this age and find excitement in different things to many people. I enjoy a lot more things in life that money can’t buy, and so it’s easy to not stand out with the new ‘trendy’ things that other bloggers offer. It’s just not me.
So, those of you that do read the blog, what kinds of posts draw you in? What do you enjoy? You don’t have to name things from my blog, just generally... what are you into and what do you enjoy in life? I’ll always write about what I want to write about but it helps to know what my lovely community enjoys you know? I would love to talk more about Cornwall, perhaps get out to more places and put up little photo diary style posts but tell me what you think! Would you mind hearing a bit more about life as a business owner? Anyway... all thoughts welcome! 💖
“Shoot for the stars, and if you happen to miss, shoot for the moon instead!” 🌝
Funny wise words from Neil Armstrong and exactly what we did when the stars were backwards about coming forwards when we went stargazing. ⭐️ 🔭 ⠀⠀
SWIPE to see our moon through a telescope, why yes I did capture that by sticking my iPhone up to the eye piece and yes, it was a tricky picture to capture! 📸🌝
And, who knew Saturn had so many moons, I mean literally 62 confirmed, maybe 150 in total. I saw four of them. 🌚
Why so many moons Saturn?! ⠀⠀
Follow the link in bio to find out about Stargazing at @nttrericehouse - a great way to spend an evening and a great travel experience!

Okay, so I’ve not really been feeling like myself the past couple of days and I really got into a pickle this morning because I had this really bad ass picture to post from the summer where the sun was shining and I was warm and happy and have an all round good time.
And even sitting here right now I want to write a caption about how good things are at the moment and how exited I am to be back in the Bristol sunshine but I know that it wouldn’t be an accurate representation of how I’m actually feeling right now.
Too often Instagram is a highlights reel of everyone’s best bits, which can put pressure on everyone else to think their life should be as “easy”/ “flawless”/ “perfect”/ “goals” when is reality every single picture you see on this platform has ups and downs and good and bad patches just like the rest of us. I wanted to remind you all of that, and remind you that it’s okay to feel like shit for a while because one day you won’t feel as shit anymore.
So basically, I feel a bit crap, a bit unmotivated and a bit sluggish. But that’s cool because I won’t be stuck feeling a bit crap forever and I’ll feel as bad ass as I did in this picture soon 🌸
Wooohoo, we have dates for the next @innersocialcornwall event!

Jodie has always had a strong connection to the sea, it makes her feel a sense of belonging and lets her soul run free. Myself, I spent a lot of my younger years and summers here in Cornwall with family, so when I met Jodie it was clear we both shared this great connection to the sea. •
Finding each other allowed us to to explore further into our coastal obsession. Cornwall was first place we travelled to outside of Bristol, it’s the place we almost always choose to go to in our campervan, despite there being so many other wonderful places to find in the UK and beyond! It’s the place we’ve decided to say our vows to each other, and it’s also a place we really really hope to one day call home. For now, we will consider it our second home 😌 •
In a way, we both feel very much married to the sea 💙

Who else’s mum is their best friend? Mine is such a queen and I can’t believe I spent my early teens falling out with her all the time because now she is my ROCK! She not only is an amazing mum but she is also my bestie, my photographer, my stylist and my therapist all in one 💛
I spent the weekend with my mum, dad and brothers as they came and visited me at uni (which is why I’ve been a bit absent over the past few days) and we had the BEST time exploring Cornwall even though the gale force winds and relentless rain battered us every single second. It was a soggy adventure but definitely worth it 💛
Tell me one amazing thing about your mum in the comments (because mine has gone back to Bristol and I need cheering up!) 💛

Beautiful scene of Botallack mine! Credit goes to @cove_cornwall thanks for sending it it! 📸
Good morning insta 🙋♀️ I hope you've all survived storm Dennis and that you had a fantastic weekend. It's the first day of half-term for me so I'm off out to explore the coastal path with my little sidekick 🐶; it's been a while 😁
A year ago today another crazy boy joined the gang.
He has brought more joy than I ever, ever could have imagined. I'm a true doggy convert.
Our lives have definitely changed for the better since this little pup came a long.
We love you gorgeous Romeo.
Just wish I could still pick him up like this! 😍

Thought we’d go to Watergate Bay today for a walk & lunch at The Living Space. Literally as soon as we parked it started chucking it down & I spent about ten minutes getting absolutely battered on the beach ‘walking’ Beau before we gave up and went in and ordered lunch. As soon as we got in, the clouds cleared and the sun started shining! So this is from walk number 2 - the first walk it was so windy I couldn’t even see let alone take any photos! Does anyone else’s dog LOVE trying to catch their own lead and playing tug of war?! Ps. How cute does Beau look in her new harness
Hope you’re all having a fab weekend! I Spent the day today at the Harry Potter Studio Tour today! My third time visiting the the tour and it just gets better and better! They have expanded so much since my last visit, and today they even had some of the crew from the art department talking through how they designed and made the wands, oil painting and the models! Was such a cool experience getting to talk to people that actually worked on the films 😍😍 what a dream 🥰
The story behind Inner Social Cornwall from @frankiethomasmarketing // @frankiethomas 🙋🏼♀️
Since taking the freelance leap a year ago, I always found it relatively tricky to meet other creatives, socialites and small biz owners. I attended plenty of “networking” events but I soon got bored of the stuffy talks, awkward handshakes and the people that weren’t interested in talking to just a ‘young girl.’🤷♀️
It was a few months ago that I decided that it was about time to create something that allowed people to connect, collaborate and just enjoy a hour or two away from a normal working environment🥳
Inner Social is for anyone. Whether you’re a freelancer, in full time employment or a creative looking to meet other like-minded individuals.
The first Inner Social meet-up at @lawrances_truro was a success. So much so that I knew I had to continue and build the offering. That’s when @vlogsbyniki came along. Not only is Niki my sister but she is a super talented creative and marketing guru 👑 I have exciting visions for Inner Social, and i’m even more excited to turn it into a sister project. The second piece of the jigsaw. We can’t wait for the next event which will be at @12beachrdnqy in Newquay on the 12th March. Tickets on sale next week! 🥰

Here we are before Oliver, when we looked young, fresh and rested. But, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Dan you may be away with work but we will celebrate together on Sunday.
I LOVE YOU
Ok, so yes I took this at Christmas but with that roaring fire and those twinkly lights how could I not post it?! Our local hangout, with chilled beachy decor and the tastiest specials. WE LOVE THE NEW @surftheunicorn 🦄

😋😋 Feel like trying something different? Chef's Sri Lanken Beef skewers are hot right now! A skewer of beef marinated in a blend of coriander, ginger, cardamom and sweet cinnamon, served with chargrilled piadina, bread and shredded slaw!! Immense 😍
HERE WE GO 🖐🏼 I think it’s time to address the topic surrounding the promotion of “hidden gems”. My number one AIM is to create content and promote the very best of Cornwall. I hope to inspire and prove how incredible Cornwall is. I want people to enjoy this corner of the world as much as I do.
But hold up, nothing is ever that easy. What about those Cornish “hidden gems” that we all want to keep for ourselves and hide away from others? It's all about finding the right balance.
So what do I do? I often HIDE the location of what we call Cornwall’s “hidden gems”. I recently received a lot of backlash from posting a photo of a certain beach (even without the location.) I was told that I was irresponsible and that it was my fault that the beach had been ruined by an influx of tourists.
Now I didn’t write this post to have a rant, nor did I write it to tell you that influencers have NOTHING to do with the increase of visitors, HOWEVER, if you think that Cornwall’s “hidden gems” have been ruined because of influencers, then please ask yourselves the following...
What is the definition of an influencer? Anyone can post a picture online and influence another individual. Have you seen Cornwall on the TV this year? A certain “hidden gem” shown on Poldark recently received 4.7 million views. Have you ever read a news article or watched the BBC news during the Summer months? I remember a “hidden gem” plastered over the news last year. Are you aware that there has been an increase in staycations this year? More people are holidaying in the UK than ever before. Also, don’t most people have the ability to access Google Maps to find these gems for themselves?
It’s easy to blame an “influencer” for the increase in visitors across “secret” beaches in Cornwall. I ACCEPT that we do have a part to play and we do hold some responsibility but please do remember that an increase in visitors is not our fault alone. I and other fellow bloggers will not accept personal attacks or heated messages just because we are an easy target 🙏🏼
St Ives looking picture perfect! I actually tend to stay away from St Ives during the summer however I’m keen to check out some foodie places before the crowds come back. My five favourite places (AS OF YET) in St Ives are:
🍗Fried chicken heaven and cocktail/beer happy hour - @beerandbird
🍸Drinks and pretty decor @stivesharbourhotel
🙌🏼 Views across the whole of St Ives and a busy atmosphere @pedn_olva
😱The best Thai food going in Cornwall (that I’ve tried anyway) @talaythaikitchenstives
🌞Sunsets, tapas and cocktails @porthmeorcafe
Wouldn’t mind some new places to check out. Let me know if there are any places that I need to add to my to-visit list!
Remember those blue sky days.... 😭? I’m not sure about anyone else but I am SUCH a summer girl. I actually dislike pretty much everything about winter (bit of a Scrooge) but this year I’m really going to try my best to enjoy rain, feeling cold and dark evenings....🙄 can you feel the sarcasm?
The above probably explains why I’ve been looking at holidays on my lunch break for the last month. Probably doesn’t help that I’m feeling a bit bleh today. Summer, come back, I miss you 💕
