When good dogs go bad!!😂
Being on holiday at the moment the boys are only really training to keep their minds active and entertained.
While they’re generally quite good they do have these little moments that really make us smile.😁

Currently on a train to Manchester with my eldest for one of his uni days. Thankfully the sun is shining and I’m armed with a good book.
Back at the ranch, there may not be too much going on inside....but it’s all happening outside. A busy few days of planting for the gardeners, can’t wait to see this little lot in situ and the garden designs start taking shape. At least we’re making progress in some areas!🙄

Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) are acids derived from natural substances such as sugar cane, milk, and grapes. They work by melting the intercellular glue that holds our skin cells together, to help the skin’s natural shedding process. AHA’s are made up of tiny molecules of water loving and water soluble acids. AHAs are preferred for sun-damaged and dry skin because they exfoliate the skin’s surface and have the added benefit of also improving moisture content. A main point of difference is that they don’t penetrate as deep as BHAs (eg, Salicylic Acid) and the effects are felt on the surface of the skin. AHA’s are great to rejuvenate aging skin, for those with Sensitive Skin and for regular exfoliation!
It is important to note that with today’s technology, most of these acids are derived synthetically. This is to keep the acid stable, allow for use for those with allergies to natural substances, and control its strength. Below are a list of the most common topical AHAs;
Glycolic acid: derived from sugar cane
Lactic acid: derived from milk
Mandelic acid: derived from bitter almonds
Tartaric acid: derived from grapes
Malic acid: derived from apples and pears
Citric acid: derived from citrus fruits
People seem to have a fear of a product once they hear the word “acid”, but there is no need to fear a basic chemical process! It’s not going to melt your skin off, burn you or leave you red raw for days. Higher percentage Acids are (and should only be) used by skin care professionals and general guidelines for home usage are;
* You can apply an AHA product once a day - preferably at night.
* Only apply them to the orbital bone.
* Apply the AHA product after your face is cleansed and your toner has dried.
* Once the AHA or BHA has been absorbed, you can apply any other product in your routine, such as moisturizer, serum, Retinol or eye cream - I recommend waiting half an hour before carrying out the rest of your routine for maximum absorption and to limit irritation .
* If you’re using a topical prescription product, or any of the topical prescription products for rosacea, consult with your doctor before applying either AHA.

Are you visiting our beautiful Painswick soon?
There are lots of things to do and see:
Enjoy the first glimpse of Spring in Painswick Rococo. It is a unique 18th century garden set in a hidden valley with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Painswick Rococo Garden was designed in the 1740s as an English country gentleman's pleasure garden, a place for holding intimate garden parties.
Have a walk up the Painswick beacon. The views are magnificent: on a clear day, you can see across Gloucester and see Wales, which is over 100km. If you have the legs for an uphill walk, this is well worth the effort.
Take a stroll through the famous St.Mary's churchyard. It's located in the centre of the village, just opposite our restaurant. Very tall spire with a millennium clock on the tower, 99 (and more) manicured yew trees in the churchyard are a sight to be seen and walked through.
Have a wonderful time at the spa at The Wellness Spa at Richmond Painswick. It offers quiet tranquillity in which to relax, unwind and revitalise.
