Love this vignette so much by @designed.to.love ! See how she styled my peony garland? If you don’t follow her, you should! She is just a supporter of small shops and has a huge heart! Thank you so much for you support, Michelle! In every way! ❤️❤️

With each new day, I am learning. I’d rather be a beginner, start over, try, fail, try again, learn from scratch, be new but determined to succeed than to already know it all, to never try, never fail, never learn, and never get the opportunity to start anew.

My daughter and I started horseback riding last week, but we didn’t ride at all. Our first lesson was all about learning how to care for them and ready them for the ride. We called them in from the pasture, harnessed them, cleaned their hooves, brushed them, saddled them, bridled them and then we took it all off. Next week we are supposed to do it all again on our own and I have to say, I’m a bit terrified. It’s a lot to remember! Not to mention that my horse is huge and I can’t tell the difference between between the front of the harness and the part that goes over the horses’ ears. Any horse friends have any tips for me? #horsebackriding#horsebackridinglessons
my two boys are the best of brothers, Toliver protects his little brother in the sweetest and most sincere way 🧡 this photo shows Toliver showing him how to mix up the greens and grit for the hens evening snack! This is just a small example of why I love having my babes outside and at the farm. Little lessons that I can teach them and they in turn can teach each other. It may sound simple, but as a momma this is one of the grandest things to witness.

Happy Fat Tuesday! I don’t have any paczkis but how about some Chocolate Caramel Ice Cream Cake top with more chocolate, caramel and pretzels? I think that might work, yes? You can find this recipe and details about the fun circus party we threw a few summers ago at the link in my profile! The whole thing sort of felt like Mardi Gras with a bunch of 6-year-olds hyped up on sugar. 🥳🥴 #fattuesday#icecreamcake#mardigras2020#partyfood
Have a cozy cottage? Tiny house? Dainty dwelling? Loving your bite-size bungalow is easy. Decorating it? Well, that’s more of a challenge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Make the most of every inch with these expert tips:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more light, the better. Consider wall lamps and sconces that won’t clutter tabletops.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Place couches and other large pieces against the walls.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Look for multi-purpose or foldable furniture like ottomans that double as storage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Make use of mirrors and declutter accessories.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Small spaces don’t have to be small on personality. With a little bit of strategic savvy, you can perfect your cozy cottage from top to bottom.

I have the afternoon off tomorrow and I’m so excited to browse the aisles of @target with a warm Starbucks drink before my hair appointment 🛒 🎯 ✂️ It’s the little things that excite me these days. .
It hit 60 degrees here yesterday! So of course it was time to swap out my wreath to something more springy 🌸

Spring is so close. 🌱
The past couple of days have given us a taste of the coming season. Warmer temps and singing birds. Also, muddy paw prints all over the hardwood floors, since the ground is thawing out and the doggies want to be outside all the time. But even with that mess, it had me looking ahead to planting season. 🌱
Our 22 year old just moved home to begin an apprenticeship. Along with his dog and kitten, (yes, that’s right. We now have 4 dogs and 2 cats in the house. 🤦🏼♀️) he brought a flat of seedlings that he had started. Which sparked a conversation about the raised beds that he wants to put in for us. Which lead me to think about the potting shed that we will need (okay, let’s be honest...the potting shed that I want) Which of course sent me straight to Pinterest for some inspiration. 🌱
I have quite a few old windows and doors in the barn and a fairly solid plan of what I want it to look like. Because, as you should know by now if you’ve followed me here or on the @thorny_creek_market page for very long, an ordinary shed will never do. 😉 Add to that, the 22 year old is pretty handy with a saw and a nail gun, and is probably my most creative child. (he’s actually a male version of me, in many ways) Between he and my husband, I see this potting shed becoming a reality in about one weekend. 🥰 🌱
