So schön 😍

#lesen#currentlyreading#vortex#sfischerverlage#annabenning#fantasy#youngadultbooks#buchliebe#coverlove#instabook#bookphoto#bookpassion#bücherliebe#bookstagramgermany#buecher#buchtipp#leseliebe#booknerd

💭 You have just turned into the main character from the last book you read. Who are you?
I'd be Grace, the main character of this german novel called "Ray & Grace". 🖤
ʀᴀʏ & ɢʀᴀᴄᴇ | @annikakastnerautorin @booklounge.verlag

What's This Book About Anyway?
Every legend must start somewhere…
No prisoner who enters the gates of HopeWell ever leaves. But from the moment Oriel sets foot inside Anatroshka’s most formidable prison camp, she unsettles both commandant and prisoner alike with eyes that see beyond the surface and music that trails her everywhere.
Petite and delicate though she appears, Oriel bows before neither threat nor punishment. Moreover, she makes no attempt to hide her intention: Oriel plans to escape the inescapable HopeWell.
But when facades are stripped away and myth becomes clothed in flesh, what begins as a prison break becomes a mission to stop the invasion of evil itself.

To me, he is nothing but a heartless prince.
His parents rule this town, its police, every citizen and boutique on Main Street.
All I own is a nice, juicy grudge against him for that time he almost killed me.

I fight back, tooth and nail, never expecting him to chase me across the ocean after we graduate high school.
But here he is, living with me in a dark, looming castle on the outskirts of London.
A fellow intern. A prodigal sculptor. A bloody genius.
They say this place is haunted, and it is.
Carlisle Castle hides two of our most awful secrets.

I've been so excited waiting for this book to come out, because I love Jocelyn Green's writing and I couldn't wait to read what she wrote about the Great Chicago Fire. I'm thrilled that @justreadtours gave me opportunity to partner with them to spread the word over on Facebook. ☺️ One of the reasons I love this book (and all of her novels) is because the characters' lives aren't tied up in neat little bows at the end of the book. What's changed at the end is what God did in them, making Him the real Hero of the story.
Ballerina Ana Brassfield has her path to the stage of the Met in New York and her future with fiancé Peter Engberg all figured out—until her first love, renowned German dancer Claus Gert, shows up in Georgia to dance with her and win her back.
Claus kisses her after a rehearsal, a kiss Peter witnesses from the darkened audience. Convinced a kiss between Claus and Ana is more than a one-time mistake, Peter breaks off his engagement with Ana. Rejected by Peter, and knowing Claus is dancing at the Met soon, Ana decides to repave her path to her dream.
With her 2002 Thunderbird and Baryshnikov, an old dog crippled by arthritis, she moves to Germany to be with Claus. But the ghost of his late wife, Ana’s own memories of Peter, and the pressure of earning a spot in a large ballet company prove to be a high price for a shot at success.
(1) winner will receive a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card. (see JustRead website for details)

I'm a little late to the party with this one but better late than never! The Queen of Nothing is the long awaited final installment of The Folk of the Air trilogy! I practically ran to the store the day this came out (well that's a lie, I ordered it online but that's not as dramatic of a statement.) Overall I really enjoyed the way the story wrapped up, especially the evolution of Jude and Carden's relationship. Nevertheless, I think the story could've used an extra 100 pages to resolve some of the issues that were introduced in the first two books. But overall I love Holly Black's dark and angsty storytelling, so it's safe to say I'll read anything and everything she writes in the future. .
I’m a lot bit in LOVE with the cover for Ruin by @willowaster 😍❤️
I never wanted to be a royal.
I could leave that to my older brother and sister and be happy.
I’d rather see the world, experience life with unjaded eyes, and meet people who liked me based on something other than their expectations.
Gentry Barrington saw exactly who I was the first time we met, the real me.
My title wasn’t part of the equation.
It was our connection that made the impression...
And maybe our kiss that stopped time, it was so good.
He had no idea how young I was.
I had no idea how old he was.
But sometimes appearances did matter, and there were rules that must be followed…
Or else the forbidden became too alluring to ignore.

Recommend a book to me!
There are a few scifi/fantasy books I will recommend until I am blue in heather face: Nyxia, The Grace Year, and The Kingdom. These are stellar books that have definitely flown under the radar more than I expected!
I would love to know some of your all’s favorite mystery and thriller/horror books though if those genres appeal to you. I feel like scifi and fantasy basically dominate Bookstagram, and finding recommendations for those genres are easy, but mysteries and things are a little harder to source.
. #allthebooksfeb20 - Set in the future- robot Disney princesses. Boom. What more do you want? This book is structured really interestingly (told through transcripts, flashbacks, and testimony) and though it’s technically scifi because, well robots, it’s definitely set on earth and it’s character driven. You’ll devour this book so quickly! It’s an easy and entertaining read. Honestly, it gave me Cinder vibes.
Evening all 😁 What's something you wish you could do?
I wish I was one of those people that closed their eyes, had no thoughts and could go right to sleep. Hubby's like that and it drives me crazy 😂 I once asked him if he even had thoughts. His response? Not when I close my eyes 😂
I seriously love this edition of this book! @fairyloot nailed this design and I'm ashamed I still haven't finished reading it 🙈
Top Shelf Romance represents the best of the best in romance. There are no cliffhangers. These are simply must-read novels for readers looking for the best in happily ever afters.
For some, the bravest thing a person could ever do is to admit that they’ve fallen in love.
Saying the words out loud changes everything and there’s no way to take them back. It’s impossible to pluck the words out of the air and slip them into their back pocket to keep the truth safely tucked away.
The best feeling in the entire world though, is to know ,irrevocably, that the person they fell in love with, fell just as hard in love with them. That’s what makes a romance, a romance.

My best friend is getting married to the woman I love.
They say the nice guy finishes last.
So what's the point of being a goddamn gentleman?
I enjoy reading plenty of genres, from contemporaries, to dystopians, historical fiction, and especially sci-fi, but I've always loved fantasy the best. There's nothing quite like losing yourself in a fantasy world full of high adventure, strange companions, amazing magic, and unusual beasties. And maybe even a dragon or two. This is probably why I love writing fantasy so much as well. They say you should write the books you want to read, and when it came to writing The Crystal Tree and The Shattering Song, I definitely wrote exactly the type of book I love the most. Of course, my tbr list has plenty of fantasy on it in the near future, from Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings, to Shannon Hale's The Books of Bayern series, to Lynette Noni's Akarnae. So many fantasy adventures in my near future!⠀
What was the last fantasy book you read?⠀
Who else binged the hell out of the @appletv series Truth Be Told?! 🙋🏼♀️ I finally started it the other night and have already blown through 5 or 6 episodes.
Are You Sleeping was one of my first netgalley reviews back when I first started my bookstagram account. It was also my first “podcast” style book, which I quickly fell in love with. If I remember right I gave the book either 4 or 4.5 stars.
Now it’s been so long since I’ve read it that’s it’s like I’m experiencing it all over again for the first time. I’m really loving the mini series and I’m excited to see how it ends (because I’m not sure I remember the whodunnit)!
I’m curious if you read this more recently (or just have a better memory than me) and watched the series, how do you think it compares? Spoiler free thoughts only of course!
It’s #murdermysterymonday and I’m excited to feature Murder in an Irish Cottage by Carlene O’Connor. Thanks @tlcbooktours for this gifted copy. I’m still planning my #cozymysterymarch reading list but this is definitely on it!
SYNOPSIS: In a remote—and superstitious—village in County Cork, Ireland, Garda Siobhán O’Sullivan must solve a murder where the prime suspects are fairies... Family is everything to Siobhán: her five siblings; her dear departed mother for whom the family business, Naomi’s Bistro, is named; and now her fiancé, Macdara Flannery. So precious is her engagement that Siobhán wants to keep it just between the two of them for a little longer.
But Macdara is her family, which is why when his cousin Jane frantically calls for his help, Siobhán is at his side as the two garda rush from Kilbane to the rural village where Jane and her mother have recently moved. Unfortunately, tragedy awaits them. They find Jane, who is blind, outside the cottage, in a state. Inside, Aunt Ellen lies on her bed in a fancy red dress, no longer breathing. A pillow on the floor and a nearby teacup suggest the mode of death to their trained eyes: the woman has been poisoned and smothered. Someone wanted to make sure she was dead. But who?
New #BookReview on the Blog!
Slow Dancing by Stylo Fantôme --> https://amzn.to/2V9DtVz <--
Check out my #linktreeinprofile for all of my latest FULL reviews!
Review Snippet: Slow Dancing was the incredibly sexy and complex story of Logan, a woman who has spent her adult life hiding from romantic complications, and Woods, a man who loves everything about uncomplicated sexual diversions. On tour where the pop star and her dancers can bond and grow closer, these two people, who do their best to avoid everything to do with messy entanglements are about to embark on the biggest one of all...
Blurb: A rising pop star who can't let go of her emotional baggage, and a cocky dance partner who doesn't know what monogamy is.
She doesn't want a relationship.
He doesn't believe in them.
She can't believe that anyone would love her.
He can't seem to stop himself from loving her.
When their differences collide and sparks start to fly, he's sure it's the start of something amazing.
Currently reading : A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes .
This has been such a fun read so far. This book compiles female perspectives of the Trojan war - both mortal and immortal. I’m not finished yet but would definitely recommend already.
“When you hear stories from people like you, you feel less alone. When you feel less alone, and like you have a community of people behind you, alongside you, I believe you can live a better life.”
There There by Tommy Orange was the February book pick for #thediversitybookclub . I’m so thankful for this book club because it has given me a wonderful group of bookish friends AND introduced me to fascinating new books. I tend to have a certain comfort zone with regards to books. This is very helpful to protect myself but it also sometimes gets me into a reading rut. This club has motivated me to stretch my boundaries and thankfully I’ve discovered some really interesting pieces of literature. There There by Tommy Orange is one of them. I look forward to our group discussion because there’s a lot to digest in this book. .
It’s hard for me to review this book because of its challenging subject matter. But on the other hand, I feel like it’s not asking for my opinion or my input. It simply exists and it may not be my place to really comment on it. For all its challenging aspects, I feel like this is a book that needs to be read. It contains hard truths that need to be swallowed. It tells stories that need to be told and need to be heard. .
Minden jelenet a kedvencem lett jóformán, amiben ő is szerepel. Most, hogy mindenre fény derült(legalábbis jelenlegi információim alapján).
Azok a szívszaggató leírások!
A szereplők többsége imádnivaló, főleg Warner, a borítók gyönyörűek.

Q: What color books do you need more of?
While tabulating and then organizing my bookshelf, I realized that I really need more purple and yellow books! My most-owned color is black, with blue coming in second. What about you?
Just because life may be out of order, doesn’t mean it’s broken.
It’s New Year’s Eve 1982, and Oona Lockhart has her whole life before her. At the stroke of midnight she will turn nineteen, and the year ahead promises to be one of consequence. Should she go to London to study economics, or remain at home in Brooklyn to pursue her passion for music and be with her boyfriend? As the countdown to the New Year begins, Oona faints and awakens thirty-two years in the future in her fifty-one-year-old body. Greeted by a friendly stranger in a beautiful house she’s told is her own, Oona learns that with each passing year she will leap to another age at random. And so begins Oona Out of Order…
Hopping through decades, pop culture fads, and much-needed stock tips, Oona is still a young woman on the inside but ever changing on the outside. Who will she be next year? Philanthropist? Club Kid? World traveler? Wife to a man she’s never met?
Oona Out of Order is a remarkably inventive novel that explores what it means to live a life fully in the moment, even if those moments are out of sequence. Surprising, magical, and heart-wrenching, Montimore has crafted an unforgettable story about the burdens of time, the endurance of love, and the power of family.
Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore is out tomorrow!

Respect the Legend. Idolize the Prodigy. Celebrate the Champion. But never underestimate the Rebel.
Eden Wing has been living in his brother’s shadow for years. Even though he’s a top student at his academy in Ross City, Antarctica, and a brilliant inventor, most people know him only as Daniel Wing’s little brother.
A decade ago, Daniel was known as Day, the boy from the streets who led a revolution that saved the Republic of America. But Day is no longer the same young man who was once a national hero. These days he’d rather hide out from the world and leave his past behind. All that matters to him now is keeping Eden safe―even if that also means giving up June, the great love of Daniel’s life.
As the two brothers struggle to accept who they’ve each become since their time in the Republic, a new danger creeps into the distance that’s grown between them. Eden soon finds himself drawn so far into Ross City’s dark side, even his legendary brother can’t save him. At least not on his own . . .
