I’m the artistic director of the Mediums Collective, a group of artists based in Atlanta who activate public and semi-public spaces through performance and installation art. As an individual artist, I consider myself primarily a mover and an architect of people to people, people to space, and bodies to bodies.
I work first from my body because it is my most genuine and visceral tool. I believe that fully integrated physical embodiment of a concept translates abstractions into sensations and creates a more palatable and tangible atmosphere for people from a wide array of social, physical, cultural, ethnic, religious, etc. backgrounds.
I make art because it exists outside the confines of language. It is a means of communication for all the spaces that language cannot reach or the feelings that language may prohibit. It translates through the body first and foremost, and this stimulates connection and community. I build art to build community.
I hope that Not Viral can serve as a powerful platform for connection and collaboration across physical and geographical boundaries. Not Viral seems to me to hold great potential as a digital commune and a space for rich dialogue and resource share between artists and audiences alike. A digital co-habitation!

Fragst du dich auch manchmal, was du eigentlich mit deinem Leben anfangen willst? Ob du gute Entscheidungen triffst und ob dein eingeschlagener Weg der Richtige ist?
Also ich frage mich das oft. Ich stehe jeden Tag auf, probiere Neues aus, habe Rückschläge, sehe Erfolge, bringe meine Gedanken zu Papier, schreibe Posts über Dinge, von denen ich nicht weiß, ob sie sinn- und wertvoll sind. Ich berichte über mein Leben in der Hoffnung jemanden zu berühren, versuche mit meinen Erfahrungen Menschen zu helfen, möchte ein guter Freund, eine liebende Ehefrau und eine fürsorgliche Mama sein. Abends gehe ich wieder schlafen. Am nächsten Tag das Gleiche. Was ich dadurch erschaffe? Ganz ehrlich.. Ich weiß es nicht. Ich weiß nur, dass ich mich gut dabei fühle und es sich richtig anfühlt.
Wisst ihr was ich denke? Wenn wir Dinge tun, die von Herzen kommen, die eine gute, ehrliche Intention haben und die aus einer positiven Absicht heraus geschehen, dann ist es immer, WIRKLICH IMMER das Richtige. Und auch wenn uns der jetzige Zustand daran zweifeln lässt, dass wir damit etwas Großartiges erreichen werden, dann lasst uns in Geduld üben. Es wird der Moment kommen, an dem wir verstehen, warum wir heute so gehandelt haben. Und alle jetzt so unsortierten Puzzleteile werden dann ein Ganzes ergeben. Ein Bild, das wir jetzt noch nicht sehen können, das wir aber jeden Tag ein Stück gestalten ✨

Happy #TellMeTuesday ladies!! As I forge my journey through building my own personal brand I have come upon so many questions. What do I name my company, what blog platform should I use, how often should I be on social, what color theme should I use.....the list goes on and on! These things are definitely important and I have made them a priority but my main concern in the beginning was..... Am I connecting with the right people? 🤝Just to clarify: Connections= super awesome amazing people that I meet every day!
Were the connections I had been making beneficial and valuable for success of my brand? I thought very long and hard about this and the answer to my question was YES! Yes, every single person that I have been blessed with the opportunity to connect with is valuable to me in one way or the other. I may not be able to use this connection in a way that benefits my brand but in someway they are definitely valuable. Maybe it is connecting that person with someone in my CRM that is desperately seeking advice or maybe it’s a friend of a friend who has been looking for a service or product that this new connection can offer, or maybe it’s just someone who needed kind words over coffee!
So my questions to you are: 🤷🏼♀️How do find VALUE in each and every connection you make in your OWN journey? 🤷🏼♀️How do you CREATE VALUE for each connection that you make?
Don't worry about becoming "successful" in life. If you create value to others in this world, the success will automatically come as a bi-product.
