We saw some beautiful beaches and sunsets. Hiked some difficult terrains with amazing views.
Learned all about Game of Thrones and how a lot of it is CGI, filmed in Northern Ireland or Canada. A local told us the only time they filmed during high season they had to shut down the whole city. Toursits were pissed off of course, but the best is they filmed the walk of shame which is my a church. As the little older ladies came of of church they see this nude women walking down the stairs in shock.
Meeting locals is the best you hear so many good stories and also get to try the local dishes.

#narimasu#tokyo#japan#patina#exhibition#kawaii#art#culturalexchange
Yesterday I was in the Stuttgart city library and borrowed some good books about Poland and Gdansk. A good preparation for the European Jamboree is very important for me as well as for our participants. Because a successful cultural exchange can only succeed with good preparation.
Treatment of pressure ulcers/bedsores in elephants
History and Symptoms
Name: Kaew Ta
Age: 67 years old
Prolonged lying due to weak health
Rescued from: Krabi
Previously working: Logging/riding
Bedsores in elephants are typically found when an elephant has been lying on the floor for a prolonged period. This is a by-product of not being able to stand or support themselves.
The appearance of a bedsore is frequently found in older elephants, in elephants who have higher body weight, who have lied down for too long and have trouble getting up after lying down, elephants sleeping in poor conditions e.g. in urine and faecal matter.
In this situation, the wound is found on the hip bone of the elephant.
In the event of a severe wound, swelling and inflammation would be present. Treatment would include washing the wound, reducing pain and reducing the inflammation to the area.
In cases of severe wound infection, chronic open wounds and necrosis (the death of most or all of the cells in an organ or tissue due to disease, injury, or failure of the blood supply) or pus within the wound, the medical team will have to wash the wound with an antiseptic solution and apply antibiotics (topical). Trimming to remove the rotten or dead flesh from the wound completely is also practised to facilitate healing. This is done together with the use of antibiotics (antibiotic) and anti-inflammatory drugs (anti-inflammatory) by consumption or injection.
Most pressure ulcers in elephants 2 - 6 months to heal depending on factors that affect other wound healing process such as age, elephant's overall health, elephant behaviour, raising and other environmental factors.
In the case of successful treatment, the medical team, including the Mahout should be cleaning the wound often. The responsibility of the Mahout is extremely important in this instance because it ensures that the wound stays clean. The mahout is also responsible for maintaining and controlled and clean state for the elephant. This means, no sand, no soil, no mud on the infected area.
At present, Kaew Ta is receiving continuous care by our team of veterinarians and staff.

I am still utterly moved and enchanted by Roger Mello, picture book maker who shared his exquisite picture books with us at the Evanston Public Library this past week. What an experience to listen to him tell the story of Feather, who longs to discover who she is by asking each of the many birds she sees, “Where do I come from? Who do I belong to?” (Cao Wenxuan-author, Roger Mello-illustrator, Chloe Garcia Roberts-translator) Delicate, intense, bittersweet, and poignant, this is a story filled with questions about who we are. Equally stunning and exquisite are Mello’s books, ‘Charcoal Boys’ and ‘Joao Por Um Fio’ as well as his many other books which he both wrote and illustrated. Roger Mello is a masterful, soulful, picture book maker with a beautiful, poetic, compassionate heart.

Jaida Hawkins, an outstanding violinist and teaching artist from Stetson University, US, is invited to the classical music radio channel at the eSwatini national broadcast station and shared such an inspiring testimony on her success as the minority African descendant instrumentalist. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She talked about how music has taught the most valuable lessons in her life and empowered her to exercise leadership in every orchestra she has been.
To Ntjilo’s student, Jaida is a real-life role model who proves ”Dream comes true!” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
”I just love music so much because I know it has a healing power I know of its power to lift someone up. I used to have a really bad anger issue. Instead of going to fight my cousin, I will shift to banging on chords on piano. The classical music has taught me how to manage my emotion, it has taught me disciplineship, it has taught me leadership it has taught me how to work as a team. Those are all very valuable things that your child could learn. Putting them into a music program we don’t expect all of them to become professional musicians. It’s the skills they learn within the orchestra that are valuable to them later in life no matter what profession they choose.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’m Mariany (@_marianyvieira) and I live in San Francisco, California.
I’m so excited to share all about my au pair experience with all of you! ☺️
I’m 26 yo, I’m from São Paulo - Brazil 🇧🇷 and I’m graduated in international business! I decided to leave my career in Brazil where I had a very nice job and board in this adventure which is being an au pair!
During my au pair experience, I’ve been learning every day with my host family, making new friends and traveling around us 🇺🇸.
It has been an amazing experience and I couldn’t be more happier with my decision. 🥰♥️ #aupair#aupairlife#culturalexchange#culturalcare
My grandmother has always been a big fan of Bollywood movies. At the ripe age of 85 she’s still pretty up to date on the happenings inside and outside the film industry. One of the major highlights of her life was back in the early 1980s when my grandfather was posted in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.
Dadi Amma was a pretty active member of the military wives club, for weeks rumors were swirling in the mess halls that Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu, a legendary Bollywood couple, would soon be dropping by the city. Being the big time movie buff that she was, my grandmother worked her contacts up in the club to get in touch with the organisers. Lo and behold one of her good friends Mrs Piracha the lady in pink was on the organising committee.
My grandmother is the lady in white smiling uncontrollably right behind Dilip Kumar. She tells me it was one of the happiest day of her life. Till the mid 2000s cultural exchanges like these on both sides of the border weren’t unusual. Despite political tensions intellectuals and artists would regularly cross over to the other-side to collaborate and exchange ideas. However because of the rising tide of nationalism with each passing year these exchanges have gotten lesser and lesser now to the point of being almost nonexistent.
