Dec Daily: Day 7- After taking fabulous cookie decorating classes from @sweetbellabakery and watching way too much Holiday Cookie Competition I spent the day making sugar cookies and royal icing from scratch then decorating them. See my attempt to make a poinsettia cookie!🤪 I had a great time and embracing my obvious amateur attempts at cookie decorating. #decemberdaily2019#decdaily#decemberdaily#decdaily2019
My daughter surprised me this evening. While the corned beef brisket was cooking, she said she wanted to play games! Woohoo!
We played Monopoly first. She was ruthless! Yes, I lost.
Then, we played Uno.
When dinner was ready, she was winning by just a few points. She said we’ll have to finish the game soon. She knows she’ll win.
I do not let her win. I just don’t believe in doing that.
In order to handle sitting at the dining room table that long, I used a bamboo seat cushion, and I put a couple Salonpas on my left shoulder. I’m still in a lot of pain. But, it was worth it. I love game nights!
Also, she could have gone to her high school winter formal. Or, she could have hung out with her friends. But, she decided to stay home, spend time with me, and relax. . #gamenight#familytime#unocards#cardshuffle#cardshark#qualitytime#decemberdaily#love#funtimes#ehlersdanlossyndrome#chronicpain#salonpas#gametime
December 7: Before we decided to go to church, I was going through our mail and I found the hymn "We Have This Hope" in a magazine and immediately cut it out because I knew I wanted to journal about it tonight. This song really brings me back to fond memories of my upbringing in the SDA church. I got goosebumps when I realized the closing hymn at church was the same song 🙏
Finished the first signature in the journal today. I'm aiming to fill up a signature with each week in December.
Today I attended the visitation and celebration of life service for a woman I hired at a previous job. It was such a beautiful service and good to see some co-workers I hadn’t seen in a while. However... 47 years old? Really? Seeing all the people jammed into the small church, it was visceral how many people’s lives she touched. It was also a reminder to me how important each moment is with family and friends... how important each day is. Today was a reflection on life. Let’s make the most of it while we are here!
He said: Bey I’m so lucky you’re Bae
She said: Yes you are !!!
He said: I’m glad you are
And DAILY they encourage each other to take ACTION
A couple that REFLECTS AND PLANS TOGETHER....GROWS TOGETHER .

“When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark!
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And You'll Never Walk Alone
You'll Never Walk Alone”
As we near the end of this decade, this song keeps resonating in my mind to remind me to be grateful for what has happened thus far, to keep hustling and never give up even when all hope is lost, to be hopeful for a better tomorrow and keep cycling through that loop and complete this circle of life while staying true to what you really are and the ideals you carry forward with you!

#DecemberDaily - Day 07
Today did not go exactly as planned... Josh woke up with a sinus infection, and has felt pretty rotten all day. I woke up with a tummy ache in the middle of the night - not the best night’s sleep for the two of us. I felt fine once I woke up and could have easily pushed to get us all ready for the annual Bethlehem Breakfast, but Josh encouraged me to simply slow down and enjoy a quiet morning. We really hated to miss one of our favorite Christmas traditions - but it was also nice to have a slow Saturday morning at home. Joy + Merry went to choir practice, then went out to lunch with the neighbors.
Walker Oak’s new comforter came in so we took his mattress out of the crib. He was so excited for his new “big boy” bed. I am so not ready to take down the crib. 😢😢😢
Afternoon was spent cleaning up around the house, lots of playing outside (gorgeous day), watching the SEC Championship game, and wrapping presents.
We spent the evening trimming the tree tonight. Josh picked out a really pretty one this year, and we had fun passing out the ornaments (old + new) and telling stories about each one. Of course, we had to have popcorn, cokes + Christmas music. This little family tradition has become one of my favorites.

My #plannertoddler is still learning to color within the lines. We have been keeping up with coloring our joint mandala pages every day, but I am behind on my #DecemberDaily pages, so this weekend is about catching up for the past few days.
