📍Carp ▪ Ontario, Canada

Hi Instagram Besties!! We’re Shawn & Steph Thompson 👋🏼 Thought we’d reintroduce ourselves since there are so many new faces the last few months!♥️
We have a “Get to Know Us” game in our stories, but here are 5 more fun facts about us:
- Shawns a chemical engineer & Steph’s a science teacher, we both work full-time and crazy hours!👩🏻🏫👨🏻💼
- Steph always had a passion for creativity, whether it be redoing her room every month with decor/DIYs, writing song lyrics, or taking pics (She also was obsesseddd with Tumblr back in the day, anyone else?!😂)
- Shawns favourite thing to do when we travel is eat & taste traditional foods! We will ask locals and find an authentic restaurant! He will eat/taste anything in the world, there is NO food he doesn’t like, literally. 🦗🦗
- Our favourite date nights are always concerts. Music sets the soul on fire! 🎶
- Our first trip we took together as a couple was to Banff, Alberta 🇨🇦 and is still one of our fav places in the world! 🏔
Tell us a fact about yourself!➡️ Where was your first trip that made you fall in love with traveling?!

Celebrate Friday! Mini egg butter tarts are here 🙌🏼💕
What's your definition of freedom? Is it financial independence? Ability to work from home on your own schedule? Or to vote and speak up?
To me, it's all that, but it's also simple things. Like picking up and going on a road trip to Ottawa.
These small road trips make me so excited to travel more and more. Wanna guess where we're going this summer?

Winter camping is a whole beast of its own, but totally worth it!
We're taking some great tips from @OntarioParks so you can try it out yourself:
1) Make sure to bring a friend - as we mentioned winter camping is it's own beast and can be a lot more challenging than the summer. So, make sure to have someone with you!
2) Getting to your campsite can be tiring, especially when you're going by cross country skiing, snowshoeing or hiking! So, have LOTS of food with you, plenty of snacks and some warm food to heat you back up.
3) Be prepared. Arrive with lots of time to make it to your campsite before sunset. Pack some extra clothes (sweater, outer shell, pants, socks etc.) and some waterproof matches and a first aid kit may also come in handy!
And REMEMBER - Not all of the parks are open in the winter, so do your research.

Thanks to Steve at the Mad Musher for always being a great host, and to our partners at @algonquinoutfitters for the snowshoe rentals...always

If I don’t feel present standing in such a setting I don’t know where I could. Just gotta make sure you bring the bug spray or you will be “presently” eaten alive...🦟 A calm sunset over French Lake, Ontario.
