At times it’s hard balancing everything. I feel overwhelmed + like I’m just not good enough sometimes. But I know that’s not true!
I’ve been asked WHY I do what I do. Why I; go to school full time, parent, fulfill my military obligation (9 hours away) every month, and want to start up a business.
I want to provide my son with the life I never had growing up. My parents worked hard to ensure I had a roof over my head, food in my belly, etc. But often it was at the cost of their own “self care”. I want to provide for my family and still have some to enjoy myself too, and that‘s not selfish! I want a life that enables me to travel and spend as much time as I can with my family. I don’t want to work away my life just to retire at 65 - and THEN enjoy the luxuries life has to offer. No thanks.
Shoutout to @jenmaravillas 🚔👮♀️😍 Be sure to follow this badass officer, mom, and sorry fellas but wife to a 👨🚒 also. @womeninuniform features all women from military to first responders and nurses. If you'd like a shoutout or a picture to be shared DM us a few and a little bio
I’m lucky enough to have a lot of weapons in my arsenal as different skin needs come up. Instead of being a connoisseur of handbags, I’ve got a room full of skincare products. #almostasgood#iswear
If I’m not getting much sleep my skin looks dull and grey. I’ve learned over the years that looking dead is not AT ALL sexy. #newsflash So, I either do a gentle chemical peel in my office or, in a pinch, break out this guy.
It’s a mild at-home chemical peel that takes a few minutes and used a few times a week, wipes away dull, dead skin and prevents acne and blackheads. I usually rinse about a minute after the second step because I find it’s less irritating for my dry skin but you can leave it on if your skin tolerates it.
Have you ever tried this before? What did you think? Let me know if you want more #skincare posts in the future too! 💕 #drpapri#askdrpapri

A busy work week, calls for a relaxing time at the spa! In my practice, I counsel my patients on stroke prevention.
A stroke is an interruption of proper blood flow to an area of the brain that leads to brain cells dying. There are two major kinds of strokes. The first is ichemic (a blockage in a vessel), and the second is hemorrhagic (a brain bleed). There is also a third “mini stroke” also known as a transient ischemic attack which temporary blocks obstruction of blood flow. It is the fifth leading cause of death in the US. About every 4 minutes, someone dies of a stroke. Symptoms that point to a stroke are trouble speaking, facial droop on one side, numbness or weakness to the arms and/or legs often affecting only one side of the body, trouble walking, vision problems, and severe headache. Some risk factors include hypertension, cigarette smoking, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamines, and people aged 55 or over. A stroke is a medical emergency. The earlier it is recognized and treated, the better chances of survival.
Investing in knowledge & furthering my education is something that I will always be interested in. Thank you 𝔻𝕣. 𝔸𝕣𝕥𝕙𝕦𝕣 𝕊𝕨𝕚𝕗𝕥 @swiftbeauty for sharing your wisdom and advice. I am excited to apply all that I will be learning throughout this weekend of training from this exemplary leader in the field of aesthetic medicine, to my patients. #SymmetrikMD 🥼💉 #neverstoplearning#success#aestheticmedicine#day1
Any special plans for the weekend guys?😉🤗 No matter what you're up to (studying for those tests, working a long shift or perhaps finally getting enough sleep?!) we wish you to have a good one! 🥰 (Photo via @doktorschwester)
So Bangkok was fun 😎⠀
Albeit warmer and more humid than I could handle. Seriously, the Boston and Chicago melted immediately and I was left as a husk to fend for myself.⠀
And I’m glad I did.⠀
Even though it was just one day of jet lagged delirium, I found myself free of pressures, deadlines, responsibilities...everything.⠀
I was focused on the moments.⠀
And eating things that freaked everyone else out.⠀
Weird things I’ve eaten thus far:⠀
1. Chicken Heart⠀
When in Rome, eh?⠀
What’s vacation for if not for liberating yourself mind?⠀
HOW TO FOCUS 📚Who here needs a productive morning of studying? 🙏🏻🥰 Below are my top 5 tips on how to focus!👇🏻✨ 1️⃣ SLEEP ENOUGH: The night before a big study session, make sure you get AT LEAST 6-7.5 hours of sleep 😴 There is no such thing as “while you’re sleeping, I’m grinding”; no amount of coffee will fix inadequate rest. Sleep is essential for memory retention 🙏🏻
2️⃣ PICK A NO-DISTRACTIONS PLACE 🏡: I love white noise & the bustle of coffee shops ☕️ Others prefer being alone in an isolated room at home. Are you a self studier or group studier? Know what works for you and stick with it.
3️⃣ FOCUS FOR THE FIRST 25 MINS ⌛️: Published articles have said it takes the first 25 mins to truly focus! It’s hard and you will get distracted. I hide my phone and turn off text notifications on my MacBook. The first 25 mins are tough but know you need to get things done, and your friends will still be there afterward. I take 1 break every 50 mins.
4️⃣ DROWN OUT THE DIALOGUE: If you’re reading from textbooks or study guides, make sure this is the ONLY thing you’re listening to! 👂🏻 I stay away from music with lyrics and use noise-cancelling headphones.
5️⃣ STAY ACTIVE WITH THE MATERIAL: It’s easy to kick back and passively listen to lectures, retaining very little and making poor use of your time! 😩 Make sure you’re actively learning — jotting down notes, working on practice questions, or making flowcharts (my favorite). What are some of your favorite tips to stay focused? Leave them down below! 👇🏻❤️
