Life is like a big team sport. Choose your team wisely if you want to really succeed... 🌟
Choose those who support you
Choose those who are honest with you
Choose those who make time for you
Choose those who want you to succeed no matter where it leaves them
For #worldsmentalhealthday I want to talk about the #innerchild . As human beings, I think we all have our fair share of mental stresses, it comes with territory of growing up. As adults (most working and trying to get by, day by day) we tend to forget that curiosity and eagerness to learn that most of us felt as children. We are all so busy trying to “live” that we forget to LIVE, and that mentality dies out. We cannot forget our inner child. Our inner #explorer . Our inner #archeologist . Our inner tree climber. Our inner #artist . We can’t allow the world, with all of its bs, to weigh us down so much that we just exist. We have to protect our inner child (Someone talked at length recently about protecting our inner child and I cannot, for the life of me, remember who it was) but we do! We have to keep them safe. I struggle with a mental battle every day. EVERY EFFING DAY. From the moment I wake up, to the moment I fall asleep. I can be #manic so I swing from stoked on life, to dark and depressed easily. I have #bodydysmorphia so I don’t see in the mirror what other people see and I am constantly criticizing the way that I look. I am a legitimate #bingeeater so I have to stop myself from eating to fill all of the voids I think I have in my life. I have problems. A lot of problems. But I still have my inner child and I’m doing my best to keep her inside of me, even though I’m nearly 30 years old.
I hope that everyone remembers that taking care of ourselves mentally comes from being good to ourselves. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re wonderful/powerful/smart/creative even if you don’t believe it. Allow yourself to feel whatever it is that you feel, but don’t let it define you. #mentalhealth#findyourzen#bekind#peptalk#hayleytakesahike#domorethanjustexist#mentalhealthawareness#mentalhealthawarenessweek#selflove#innerpeace#girlswhohike#girlswhoexplore#alpinebabes#mountaingirls#exoloretheworld#boldandbeautiful#pnwlove#leavingforhome#intothewoods#bodypositivity#selfimprovement#optoutside

We all have mental health 🧠
Good mental health is not just the absence of a mental health problem, it's about having the ability and skills to think, feel and act in a way that allows us to enjoy life and deal with the challenges it presents
We live in a culture which doesn't prioritise, promote or teach positive mental health and wellbeing as standard. A recent study showed only a small minority of people (13%) were found to be living with high levels of positive mental health!
We have come to survive rather than flourish, assuming that ongoing stress is the price to pay to keep lives on track
Positive mental health isn't rocket science. This #wmhd we can all make a simple start by stepping out of our busy habits, trying some positive self talk or perhaps making our self care as essential as cleaning our teeth. (Once we’ve got that down we can get on with slowly changing the education system, this stressful culture and this crazy world 😉)... who's in?
I know I'm Superwoman
I know I'm strong
I know I've got this
‘cause I've had it all along
I'm phenomenal and I'm enough
Don't fix me
Don’t try to change a thing
I'm broken and it's beautiful
I'm broken and it's beautiful
THE THING IS… YOU ARE ENOUGH. "You are more than enough, and you always have been.
The world wants you to believe that there is something wrong with you. That you have to buy this or that. That there is a “magical pill that will solve all your problems”. That overnight success is real.
No, no, and no. There is nothing wrong with you, and there is not a product out there that will do a "quick fix" on your life.
You have to work at improving your own life. Day in and day out. Over and over again." - Molly Ho
This is not about a microwave result. I am all about that crock pot effect. Low and slow. Because it’s going to be soooo worth it!
If I told you day 2 after my reset has been easy, or that I have all my ducks in a row, I’d be lying. If I told you I was confident in Coaching others, I would be full of it. In fact, I’m terrified. Terrified I will fail on all fronts. Hmmmm. Maybe just maybe we aren’t alone in that....and maybe just maybe TOGETHER is where we can find success.
ARRÁBIDA SPRINT SWIMRUN
After the icy mountain of Squaw Valley, we decided to travel to Arrabida to race a Swimrun on a sunny day. 😃🌞
This time we did not participate in the mixed team event, nor did we race the standard course.
With the World Cup held less than a week ago, and a week away from Barcelona's Beast and Super, we couldn't overstate this weekend's load.
So both Samuel and I participated individually in Sprint distance, total 11k, 1800m of which swimming.
Misfortunes always have their good side, and the truth is that swimming was almost all I could do during the 2 months I was injured and without running.
This allowed me to 'splash' at a very interesting pace throughout the race and finish 5th overall (men and women included)! The #Castelaproteam 's lynxs took home the highest place on the male and female podium! 🥇🤩 Today, tuesday, I'm still full of leg pain!
It was easy to run a race with few kilometers, but only after finishing it did I realize that the lack of training reflects mainly in the ability to recover ...! ‘Athletes run, Heroes swim’. Well, we swim🏊🏼♀️ AND run🏃🏼♀️! 😎
Seriously y’all...... results don’t lie! They just don’t!
It doesn’t matter what you do..... if you are consistent with it...... you’ll get results.
Can we talk about consistency?
We live in a world where people jump from one thing to the next, to the next, in search of a simple fix to their issue.
Truth is, if we would put as much effort into ONE thing as we put into jumping around trying ALL the things, we would be incredibly successful, simply because of an amazing thing called the Compound Effect.
The race in Squaw Valley is not and can never be a walk in the park: the obstacles are longer, higher, heavier loads, the wind is always inclement.
So ... Why endanger the lives of so many people?
I want to clarify for all those who got the concept wrong: we are neither 'warriors' nor 'soldiers'; We are not going to 'war', we are not registered in a death race or anything like that. We are athletes who want to challenge their athletic limits and not risk / play their life.
What you saw in Tahoe were hundreds of people wanting to prove to others and to themselves that they were capable of something that was completely out of place.
The organization has made a bad decision to keep the lake open and in my opinion, this is not forgivable. It is certainly not with such decisions that we will become an Olympic sport. But we may be able to attract more fanatics and fewer athletes.
In the end, I was the first (and only) elite female athlete from Iberia to finish the race, and the 43rd in the world, with a 4h29min race, with a pharyngitis and tendonitis in healing process, and 7 penalties.
If you're going through hell, just keep going! 🔥 Strength grows is the moments when you think you can't go on, but keep going anyway 🌻
For a while I couldn't get my mind off of the struggles that I was facing and I just felt like I was fading into the background 👻. Taking care of a little one on your own brings fears out of you that you never knew existed and shoots your anxiety through the roof. Not being able to afford all of the things you wish you could give your child forces you down the path of depression. And feeling like no matter how hard you try you still can't get it right invites suicidal thoughts. 🎗
Through all of that, what was the one thing that kept me going? The 🔥 that radiates from within this little boy. The way his eyes SPARKLE when he's talking about dinosaurs 🦖 or doing things that he loves 📖🖌. How beautiful his laughter is and just how bold and fearless he is. He is so quick to challenge what he doesn't believe and apologizes when he does wrong. In everything that he faces, he takes it up to ☝🏻God before he even tries to tackle his mountain. .
I was too focused and too determined to come out on top that I never paid attention to my progress. But once I finally took a break, I realized all of the morals and values I instilled in my son 😭 ❤. I realized how strong I actually was when I felt like I was at my weakest. I see myself in everything that he does and I could not be more proud of everything that I have done and given this boy so far! 💯
You might not see it, or want to believe it, but our kids watch everything that we do. They pay attention to the way that we talk to ourselves and they want to imitate it. Look at your kids right now and ask yourself "would I want them to be like me?" 🤔 If your answer is no, then you need to change that. Be a good role model for them and either pick yourself back up when you fall or lean on others for help. .
Are you happy? ☺️
I mean genuinely happy with your life.
It’s ok if you’re not ❤️
To those of you who answered no, what are you doing to change that to a yes?
We all have our moments of fleeting happiness, but if you’re constantly unhappy and just sit there complaining, how do you expect anything to change?
Sure, some circumstances are easier to change than others but often a shift in our perspective or attitude, a small gesture of action cause more positive flow on effects.
Live a life you love and don’t be afraid to be happy 💕
“Work for a cause, not for applause. Love life to express, not to impress”
It’s important to constantly remind yourself of your why.
I’m very much an intrinsically motivated person. I teach because I love the feeling I get when I see others grow and develop with my assistance. I also find it fascinating how children are so different from adults, they’re so innocent in so many ways and it’s a great reminder of what humanity could be.
I train because I like to challenge myself physically and mentally, because I love feeling physically strong and I love to reflect on the progress I’ve made over the years.
I’m doing it for ME.
If you’re constantly trying to impress others, are you really living your best life? Why count on validation from others to prove your worth when you can be your own cheerleader 📣🥰
“Do you want it or do you want to just keep saying you want it? “
If we wait for tomorrow, or the right time, or until we are ready...we could be waiting the rest of our lives.
WANTING to change
WANTING to reach a goal
WANTING to be better...it’s not enough.
Hope is not an action plan. Wishing will not bring it to life.
DOING makes all the difference.
What’s one thing you can start taking ACTION on in the final quarter of the year? #last90days STARTS NOW. #starttoday#momlife#coachlife#alwaysbebeonce#finishstrong#joy#peace#october#fall#domorethanjustexist
Well ... it’s been a while 🙊🙊
Focusing on some new goals as of today #watchthisspace 👊👊

Tahoe Spartan Race World Champ was brutal and inclement.
I’m sure yesterday is going to be forever printed out in the memory of each one of the athletes who were there.
Done. 43th place elite.
Bye Squaw Valley!
The last 90 days is fast approaching. I think about the energy, hope and excitement I started this year with...and maybe it’s the news, the challenges, the obstacles, the tired as a mother life....it shifts as the months start to move. But then here we are right before the finish, feeling anxious about what’s to come and what we didn’t do.
So here’s our chance. #last90days starts Monday, do you need some motivation, support, accountability? What if you said YES and went all in on just one thing? And you get to start 2020 ahead rather than behind!!! #momlife#reset#goals#courage#coachlife#peace#joy#domorethanjustexist
It's important not to forget the wild part of ourselves, in a very much tame society. For each person that is different. For some it is hunting and hiking in the Rockies while for others, it's just going for a walk to feel the wind on their face in a neighborhood. Bottom line is, we can't forget where we came from and where we need to be. Get outside and do something.
