I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WANT
I hear it more and more from my clients. That’s the answer I hear when we start digging deep into career aspirations and basis for them.
I find that often this happens because you don’t listen to yourself for a long time and might go with the flow on your current job, following the ‘easy track’ of a career path once selected, or sticking around based on a habit, or keep choosing work based on convenience factor etc.
Why does it happen? Because you might think it’s easier to keep the status quo, whereas it’s not. It’s actually takes much more energy to work hard for a long time to one day suddenly realise that the ladder is put to a wrong wall...
We often consciously limit our career choices due to some seemingly ‘external’ factors - someone’s expectations, family reasons, prestige question, money and other matters - that comes from not being honest with yourself.
You would ask me, do I know the secret? I would share with you an answer, which works for most people and is worth taking a look at.
I’d suggest you the following exercise as your next step for building career of your choice - take a look at: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▶️ Your INTERESTS - what do you enjoy doing, even if you are not paid for it?
▶️ Your VALUES - what is important to you in life? In people around you? What do you value the most?
▶️ Your SKILLS & TALENTS - what skills do you already have to get what you want? What talents you are not utilising and could build up on it?
▶️ Your GOALS - what do you want to do with your life in a short and long-term perspective?
If you analyse your answers to all of these points above, you should get a pretty good picture about yourself as a person and a job seeker, which should help you to build a strong candidate profile and package your skills and experience.
If you need more advice, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Are you a Coding Course addict?⠀
What I mean by that, is are you the type of person that mindlessly buys new Udemy courses on random technologies because you may or may not need to use them someday?⠀
The truth is, that when you're applying for a Java job, your Ruby experience isn't really relevant. When you're applying for a position that uses Google Cloud, your AWS skills and knowledge is for the most part, irrelevant. ⠀
Yes, there are some cross over learnings, but the point is that focussed attention will always beat the same amount of attention that's been spread across multiple unrelated languages, frameworks, libraries and technologies. ⠀
Another way of saying this is "Applying pressure to a nail on a car tyre can cause the tyre to become punctured. Applying even greater force with a sledge hammer, and you will fail to puncture the tyre, with the sledge hammer bouncing right off."⠀
When it comes to getting your dream job, you need to focus your attention on the skills and technologies that people in the company you want to work at care about. ⠀
This means cutting out distractions - technologies that aren't relevant and throwing them in the trash for now.⠀
It doesn't mean you can never learn other technologies, but you should be deliberate in your learning, making sure that you're always focusing your attention on the technologies and areas that are going to help you to succeed at your desired goal.⠀

4 Key Elements To Starting Your Entrepreneurial Journey
✔︎KNOW your why, your reason for starting. Get clear on your desires and goals. Start a plan on how to reach them.
✔︎DECIDE it’s happening no matter what. Turn “what if” into “when” and dedicate yourself to making your dream a reality. Make the choice to begin, with no question.
✔︎TRUST your gut. Let your intuition guide you. If you’re being pulled in the direction of entrepreneurship, let yourself pursuit it. No one can tell you what’s right for you, except you.
✔︎LEAP into it. Walk away from what is no longer serving you and invest in yourself and business. It won’t all happen instantaneously, but don’t let it drag on either. Jump full force into your future.
The life you want isn’t too far from reach, quite often it’s just one decision away.
It only takes one moment to change your life.
Who’s ready to take the leap? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏼♂️

We're fast approaching the end of the year. You might not be where you want to be in your career but you can still take the necessary steps to get there. It's not too late to:.
▪make a career change
▪get a side hustle
▪start your business
▪find your dream job
Despite Brexit I will not let that ruin dreams. I want to teach in Spain and to get that dream I will:
1). Work hard and get a degree
2). Complete my PGCE PCET training
3). Get a teaching job and obtain a QTS status don't care which one as all schools love ICT computing teachers.
5). Save up money for flight, rent and everything required for the move.
6). Look at schools in Spain and send applications to them.
7). Find apartments and flats close to the school.
Finally pack my bags and get out of BREXIT BRITAIN! ☺️ #futuregoals#dreamcareer#vivaespana#teaching#university#schoolteacher
So it would appear that I did indeed jinx myself when I said it was a slim chance of getting called out 😂
Was quite happily sat in my onsie and dressing gown dodging uni work when my mentor rang me to say we were off to a homebirth!! I don't think I've ever left the house so fast in my life 😂
Got to the house 40 minutes before Mum pushed her baby out and she was INCREDIBLE!
Few hours after birth we left mum freshly showered sitting on the sofa in her dressing gown watching a film! Home births are AWESOME!
We also got to have a look at mums placenta and it is incredible that that organ has been keeping a baby alive for those 40 weeks!

Self awareness is very important for growth and success. The more you understand who you are, the easier will be to adjust your style of working, to find what ways feel congruent and easy, to get clear on your desires and set goals, to build relationships etc. You may think that you need to do things in a certain way in order to be successful but it is against your values, and therefore you may experience inner conflict. For example, you want to reach a financial goal, but money are at the bottom of your values. You may want to reconsider why money are at the bottom of your values ladder or you find an occupation which is not driven by financial gain. It is am example, but values can and do change, and it is great to take some time out and do a value assessment exercise !
Do you know your top 10 values? .
In poche parole, abilità trasversali o soft skills.
I missed posting about #dayofthegirl yesterday as I was too busy teaching and prepping for Yarmouth. I was in bed early. But we talked about it in the car. Jack asked when the day of the boy would be, so we had that conversation. I think they understood. Even though I have a son I have remained a girl guide leader. I believe so strongly in the movement and that girls can do anything that I want others to do the same. I work with older units just for that reason. But I also watch my own daughter. Here she is writing the alphabet (helped by one of my pathfinders), because she wanted to. She helps me with cooking, dishes and laundry, because she wants to. She does everything because she wants to and she is determined. Sometimes I sigh at her stubbornness and mostly I revel in her strong will because that will serve her later in life. I truly believe that she can do anything. #ggc#girlsarestrong#determined#naturopathicdoctor#dreamcareer

"Team work makes the dream work" This statement could not be more true when it comes to weddings. These dreamy designs are not brought to life by just one designer. There are dozens of hands that pass over the designs that are created. This starts from the farmer that plants the seed and cultivates the blooms then on to the shipper who carefully packages each bloom and sends it on it's way before getting into the hands of our trusted wholesale supplier and then of course into the hands of the designer. Along the way passion and comitment for the quality of the blooms has been put into each design every step of the journey. This floral journey arrives at it's destination when walking down the aisle in the bride's bouquet or prominently displayed on a towering centerpiece atop a well dressed table. It is this team of flower focused individual that makes these flowery dreams come to life. So, if you ever feel alone at your design bench remember you are not alone. There is a team supporting your designs and it is "teamwork that makes the dream work" (quote by John C Maxwell) *not sure what I was thinking with this music selection 🤦♀️ Host: Styled Shoots Across America (Instagram: @styledshootsacrossamerica)

“🤱🏻I went into motherhood without really thinking or anticipating what it was going to be like! I honestly had no clue that being a full-time mom is really the toughest job in the world. I really had no idea. The days can go by so fast and everything is just a blur. 🌪 You can easily forget what you ate the night before. Getting a quick moment to eat or shower becomes a real luxury and doing laundry everyday becomes routine. But when your baby smiles, coos or falls asleep in your arms... everything is worth it.” — Jennifer C.L. // @thecookiemousse
