I’m going on a VERY exciting trip tomorrow and reuniting with a VERY close friend (and former roommate). I’m stoked, and obviously will be sharing the whole dang thing with you! Stay tuned on my stories and stuff so you can see all the funsies!

Truly one of the most beautiful structures I’ve seen in this world...the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia are one (two) of a kind. The fact that I was sitting on a helipad, sipping a cocktail with this view is mind blowing 🤯
A favorite time and place for me to shoot is on the east slope of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington in late spring. The wild rhododendrons (also the state flower of Washington) are in full bloom in the forest there.
One of the questions that I often get is how much I process/edit my images on the computer (see my recent post about this). But not often asked or talked about is how much I or other photographers do to a scene before the picture is taken. As with editing, every photographer has their own accepted standards. For me, the norm is to do almost nothing. Occasionally I will hold a branch out of the way during a shot or removing a few blades of dead grass. But more often than not, the answer is that I do nothing. And my photos are all single shots...not composites of multiple images. In the case of this photo, I did nothing to change the scene. This was how I found it and just picked the shooting angle and focal length to achieve this composition. #drobostorage#wilderness#sonyalpha#wildflowers
I don't know why it took me 3 years before watching Kimi no Na wa (2016) but it just changed my life 😩

That time we went for a bit of street photography and people were nice but I'm so out of practice talking to people. However, these two adorable children asked me to take a photo of them. It was a challenge doing it for the right reasons and its ethics but it was a genuine moment and so I went for it.

Legit felt like I'm in part 3: chapter 1 of Gulliver's Travels where the author sets out on his third voyage to that imaginary flying island called Laputa 😩

Things that keep me up at night: that one time during junior year my philosophy professor told the class "I hope to be reincarnated into a banana" as he stared at the field of bananas across our room. Still haunts me

Another one of the many solitary sunsets I captured from our place this year 😍 A beautiful scene for humanity to marvel at in awe.

Last week seemed to lack beautiful sunsets but this one was an exception. With a band of clouds moving over at just the right time, everything came together for an incredible scene 🐒

Time began to move again just the same - maybe even a little faster than before.

Just checked one thing off my bucketlist. I think the best form of ESCAPE is patiently hiking 500 steps from the base of Aliwagwag waterfalls up to its highest point which will lead you to this pastoral view and their famous monkey bridge. Along with crossing the said bridge is the very fast current of water flowing down below. #OneStrangeAsia
