I've been using my Soap Out Loud Soap Bar for about a week now and I have to say, I love it!
It's very lightly scented, leathers up so well, my skin feels so clean after it but not dry. Plus it's great for shaving in the shower too.
Its a win for me 😊
I wanted to be able to print samples easily and cheaply so I learned to screenprint.
Over the three sessions, I made all the mistakes multiple times which is clear by the number of acetate sheets (which is used to transfer the design to the screen). I moved onto trying to match the colours (using water-based inks) of my logo which are awkward so took quite a few attempts.
I managed to get the colour close enough and print the three sample designs with no actual print errors (a first 😂) but hopefully, I can take some proper photos tomorrow.
Thanks to George 🙏 for her patience while I repeatedly made the same mistakes, if you're looking to learn to screenprint she's a brilliant teacher - @gexgah
I'm looking for feedback on the three options for our logo design so please look out for the post, any and all feedback appreciated. The t-shirts are being made by an amazing project training refugees in Greece but more on that tomorrow.
Chicken Chat Wednesday- the gals were all in a temper today and refused to be photographed (which is very strange considering their exaggerated self esteem and incomparable vanity). I managed to get some candid (but not very flattering) shots, then lost my mobile on the way home. But here is a recent photo from the field across the road- the sere landscape of winter.
Thank YOU, @lastenvironmentalist for sharing this review with us! #DrinkBrilliantly
"A few months ago I bought my livelarq reusable bottle. My wife made fun of me – naturally – for spending nearly $100 on a freaking reusable water bottle. Understandable, right? Especially when there are so many more affordable options.
But here’s the thing: for many of us - actually for nearly all of us - embracing a reusable bottle means changing behavior and giving up convenience. On the surface, that sounds simple. Heck, it sounds easy.
And it is easy. But it’s definitely not simple. Any change to our daily routine, even the smallest, is hard.
In my world, we’re all so busy and crazy and scheduled that if the reusable water bottle is not in the exact, precise place at the precise moment that I’m already late and racing out the door, it’s not coming with me. It’s just not. Because it’s not my top priority.
Which brings me back to my LARQ. I started using it two weeks ago. I love this water bottle. I seriously LOVE IT. I like the form factor. I love the technology. Because it effortlessly purifies the water inside it each time I fill it up.
Best of it all, it cleans itself. Yes, that’s right, I don’t have to do it. It does it all on its own. Thanks, bottle."

Did you know that fishing nets are the number one polluter in the ocean?
Fishing nets account for 46% of all plastic pollution in the ocean.
World Animal Protection reports that 640,000 tons of gear is left in the ocean each year, but bandoned fishing gear goes beyond pollution. “Ghost nets,” for example, are a danger to marine habitats and sea life.
What's shocking is these nets are actually easy to recycle. We just have to build more systems to reclaim them and turn them into something of value.
Can you think of any other ways to use recycled fishnets? ♻️ #bettermemovement #waterpollution #ecoliving

Things aren’t always as they seem.

Companies spend a lot of time and money on marketing and advertising. They do their research and know how to target an infinite number of customers.
Within the past few years, I’ve noticed a number of products popping up on the market that are described with flowery words that mean they’re better for the environment. But how? And by how much?
How can we ensure that we’re making the right decision before supporting a company? Question everything. Make sure you’re reading between the lines and truly understand what each of these words and phrases mean and how they apply to the product you’d like to purchase.
This is all well and good, but what are some concrete ways that we can know that a company is truly doing good for the planet? It’s a combination of critical thinking and looking for a few key things:
🌱 Their sustainability statistics and practices are blatantly listed on their website. You shouldn’t have to go digging far for them.
🌱 They have third party accreditation. This means that an outside company has looked at their practices and determined that they’re walking the walk. I look for @bcorporation@1percentftp and/or @fairtradecertified.
🌱 They respond to outreach. If you are questioning a company’s validity, ask. More often than not, truly eco friendly companies are more than happy to talk about their goals and accomplishments.
And honestly, the best thing we can do is to purchase less. If you can find a solution using things you already own, that’s the most eco-friendly choice you can make.
How do you ensure that you’re supporting companies that are doing good for the planet and not just their bottom lines?
Little Rock, Ark. has found a way to make their city more beautiful while also helping the people who live in it: The city has started helping people in need, and paying them $9.25 an hour (the state’s minimum wage) to help pick up trash found around the city. The program, known as Bridge to Work, also offers workers benefits such as a free lunch, job interviews, medical and mental health assistance, and temporary shelter.

Why do we feel so good? Because our basics are made from sustainability-sourced fibers. ⠀
Know your fabrics⠀
The quickest way to start shopping sustainably is to buy designs sourced from sustainable material. Today, textile innovation is allowing for more sustainable resources to be used to engineer fibers. For example, bathing suits made out of plastic bottles, upcycled jeans, and vegan leather. ⠀
Meaning… material matters, but you may not get all the facts from reading the label, so here is a quick breakdown.⠀
Andrea Seemayer, our founder of A.Lynn says there are several fibers to avoid. See more Linkin.bio⠀
My eldest plant Timmy. He was less than a foot tall when I got him and is over 6 foot now. We prune him back every year so goodness knows how big he would be if we didn’t. Jack and the beanstalk springs to mind 😅 .

I know I’m way too late to jump on the baked oatmeal bandwagon but damn, it’s so good!
I first made some for when my girl @claudiaayuso came over for brunch and it honestly is such a lovely texture! Maybe if you’re sick or having your regular porridge, give this a try!
Perfectly crunchy on the top & juicy on the inside (:
2 cups of porridge oats
3 cups of plant milk
3/4 cups of frozen berries
1 mashed banana
1 teaspoon cinnamon
A pinch of salt
Crunchy crumble topping:
3/4 cup of rolled oats
1/2 mashed banana
1 heaping teaspoon of coconut oil (or replace with nut butter)
2 tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of salt
Mix the ingredients, add the topping & bake at 175 C for about 30-40 minutes until the crumble has become brown and crunchy<3

Happy Valentines Day to you all! 💗
As I've mentioned before, we are keeping it simple today, just having a homemade dinner and spending quality time together. That's what counts and we don't need to have flowers or a fuss to show we care. ✨
Whether you decide to celebrate this day or not I'm sure any birds around your house will feel the love with this treat I posted also last year (the birds loved it). To make it all you need is:
- 2 cups of wild bird seed and nut mix⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- 2 tablespoons of cold water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- 1/3 cup of boiling water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- 1 pack of gelatin (1.8g) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Jute or garden string ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Skewer (metal or wooden)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - (Heart shaped) cookie cutters ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Coconut/ vegetable oil ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Compostable parchment paper⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Prepare a flat dish or a baking tray with a piece of parchment paper. Coat the inside of the cookie cutters with oil. Then place the molds on the parchment paper. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mix the cold water with the gelatin powder in a bowl and let it sit for 1 minute. Add the boiling water and stir it until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Then add the seeds and mix everything together. Now fill the cookie cutters with this mixture. You can use a spoon to help with the filling. ⠀⠀⠀
Make sure to press the mix firmly into the cutters. With the skewer, make a hole into the cutter where you want the string to go through. Place the dish/ baking tray in the fridge for about 1.5 hours to harden.
Afterwards, carefully pop out the feeders from the molds and thread the jute string through the hole. Voila! 💫
Little kitchen details make me happy :’)
I really do find it easy to live sustainably in some aspects because it’s so aesthetically pleasing. My spices I buy in bulk in these glass jars and my cactus is in an old candle holder. I care a lot about home decor which has made eliminating plastic in my home much easier. Wood, glass, and bamboo look sooooo much prettier than plastic anyway 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
What GETS me is fast food. I literally love fast food. I love French fries and Chick Fil A sauce and large cokes and sonic happy hour. IM FROM THE SOUTH OKAY. I’ve eliminated a lot of my bad habits, but some of them still exist! I’m a bad minimalist, a bad zero waster, a bad plant based eater, and bad at all other aspects of sustainability I’m trying to tackle right now. BUT I know my individual decisions make an impact, so I keep going even though I’m bad at it anyway. 👊🏼
I made @thezestylime ‘s caesar salad dressing, made out of cashews... and oh my gosh it’s soooo good. It’s the best vegan caesar dressing I’ve ever had and I definitely recommend making it. 🌿
I put it in an old kombucha bottle, and it’s the perfect fit.
