Life is busy. Most writers have to fit writing in around a whole host of other things - day job and family probably being the biggest - and I'm no exception. There are seldom enough hours in the day for everything, and writing usually gets pushed back to the evening.
Once I get to sit down, I usually work on client projects for the first hour or two, and then shift gears to my own stuff - currently the second draft of Book Seven of my Dragon's Fire Series.
It can take a few minutes (or a lot of minutes!) to get back into the rhythm of the story and get going. All too often, by the time I've found my stride and words are flowing, it's almost time for bed!
It's a treat on rare days to find some extra hours and get an early start, or on a quiet weekend to write for most of the day. Doesn't happen often enough.
Writing is my unwind, my escape, one of my most favorite things to do.
And today, I can start early! See ya.

This week we are doing our masthead instagram takeover! The first editor to takeover the feed this Thursday is Brooke Houghton.
Brooke is CanCulture Magazine’s features editor and a third year journalism student at Ryerson University. She is an avid reader with a love for all things creative, strange and literary. She strives to create stories that amplify a diverse and unique range of experiences, people and places. When she is not writing you can find her with either a book or dog leash in hand (preferably it would be a cat but that’s a long story). Check back on Thursday to get to know Brooke!
