I asked @angelaaa_lankford and Derek to have a little leaf fight at their engagement session, knowing Angela was down for anything nature related. Little did I know Derek would attack her with leaves and we would be picking them out of her hair the remainder of the session! 😂 I had so much fun working with these two and can not wait to capture their wedding at the place we captured their engagement photos, how cool?! ❤️ @whitetailtreefarm

I’ll never, ever get sick of having casey in my feed. Like ever... even if there’s a fire...
Not the ideal place to be after hair and make-up done and a 30 degree plus hotel room! Hilarious nonetheless, and what else are your bridesmaids for but helping you get through challenging moments? 🤣

Been editing my little heart out, trying to get through the thousands of photos I took the last few months. If you’re waiting patiently (thank you), and just know your images are coming. These two and the magic they brought. 💛✨

Sometimes father-daughter moments hit me a little harder because my dad wasn't present at my wedding, but getting to capture them for other brides to look back on and cherish forever makes me incredibly happy.

Sometimes you just have to take an uber to your ceremony, and it may just turn out to be a mini-van! For Ashley & Devin this day was always going to be about them. They chose to have an intimate ceremony, under the marble beauty of the D.C War Memorial, as dusk settled over the nations capital. From the sweet first look amongst the busy of Union Station, catching the mini van to say their vows, and ending the night in the lobby of their hotel, with their closest people, breaking open a bottle of vintage wine from Devins granddad. It was a day perfectly uniquely, all their own and I’ll forever be thankful they chose me to step into these moments. Also I can’t recommend getting hitched in Washington D.C enough!!!!
These sweethearts giving us all the dreamy autumn love vibes. 🍂

From the 2017 Goddess Collection, the SANTORINI gown was one of the first bold lace patterned dresses we made.⠀
Even with a high neckline, you're still able to look sexy in this fitted lace dress.

It’s past my bedtime, but totally worth it. Tonight’s end of the year Wedding Wednesday bash at @society57 in downtown Aurora was so much fun. Yummy food. Great music. Intoxicating drinks. Great way to end a fantastic wedding season!!! Almost. Still a few weddings for me until 2019 is put to bed.
Now can we take a quick moment to talk about this amazing sunset 🥰🥰🥰

Pulled together favorites from my last trip to Minnesota to photograph Leah + Willie and shared it on the blog. 💻
I always enjoy going back through my edits and highlighting favorites — some for the light or the movement, the emotion or what was happening during the session. Brought this one back to share because I was playing around with double exposures while we were shooting. They’re a lot harder to do in camera because there’s a system to layering that takes patience and trial+error. With light + dark, planning composition and trying to imagine what WILL stand out vs. what you WANT to stand out. Often it’s easier to make these in post-production but when I’ve got a couple that’s laid back + super open with me, it’s easier for me to play + experiment with ideas. I only took 4 doubles and this was my favorite. I tried to play with intimate + full picture, the texture of the woods and using the sky as a neutral space for the second image. Reminds me of passing time. •
Always have to switch it up and try new things. I hate when I feel stale or I want to start leaning on my “go-to’s”. As photographers we have our toolkit but to be masters at our craft we need to learn how to get technical and build our set. Excited to try new approaches or ideas this offseason and working my creative muscle 🧠

just got home from such an amazing week so it only makes sense to share this video by the insanely talented @jordandeanfilms 👏🏼 thanks to all who traveled across to poison to shoot with us for @rawandrealworkshop // you're all rockstars🍾
In the beginning of this business, editing was something I would pass off to Steven and sometimes dread when I had to help. But now I love it. I love enhancing images and playing around with cropping and being able to feel creative in my job day to day. These two have made it fun and easy and I can’t wait to deliver their gallery!

I love when you become so close with someone that you can see parts of each other in one another and you begin to say the same things and steal lines from one another and have a similar sense of humor and can exchange an inside joke with just a glance you don’t even have to talk because you have such a strong connection with them and you can sit in comfortable silence but also talk for hours it’s really hard to find that kind of compatibility.

This guy recently celebrated his 29th birthday! While he’s not big on birthdays, I’m the person who thinks the entire month is for partying.
Here’s to you babe! 💕 Enjoy the last year of your twenties, next year it’s dirty thirty! 📸: @lindseyramdin

Paris is made for romance. I am thrilled this destination Paris Elopement was published by French Wedding Style today. Please share with friends and take a look at the feature Story at FWS -
well guys, I haven’t been very active on here posting wise but it’s been an amazing month. I was able to go to the beautiful country of New Zealand with easily some of my favorite people on this planet. They were able to recommit to each other and reminisce what they have accomplished in the 6 years when they first said “I do.” In those 6 years they have done what most people can’t say they have done. They have the most beautiful 3 year old (today is her birthday happy birthday @gemma_chatwin !) but this past year they had TRIPLETS. I’ve been able to experience first hand how this amazing event has completely changed their lifestyle in the most amazing way possible. What they have done and will continue to do will not be easy. But because of these life changing events, I have never seen a couple learn to love each other more. It was an honor to witness their beautiful words to each other as they updated their vows to each other. Thanks for letting me tag along you guys, you have changed my life for good. You are two of my biggest hero’s and hope to be half the people you are one day. Love you to the moon and back (@carachatwin + @darikchatwin)

🕊2 Cor. 8:7-9
Paul talks about why we must, above all things, excel in grace. In a season of striving, I think it is easy to get caught up in chasing greatness in things that promote ourselves, which fail to fulfill us or bring sustaining joy. But if we shift our focus to excelling in the act of grace, the gift from God that gives salvation, we strive for someone much bigger than ourselves. What does this look like? Forgiving. Softening our hearts to those that surround us everyday; coworkers, peers, figures of authority, teammates, family. Giving grace because we’ve been gifted an undeserved, unconditional amount.
A few things God is teaching me right now: 1) Discipline is freedom and decluttering is an act of faith. Creating a routine creates peace in my life and in my mind. 2) It is good to forgive the people who have hurt you...but now it is time to forget. When thoughts of the past stir up resentment and bitterness, f o r g e t it again. Dismiss the destructive, and keep dismissing it until the beauty of the Atonement has revealed your bright future. 3) Every accountable Child of God should have goals. Spiritual, mental, physical and social goals. Set them. Follow through with them. Do not come up with excuses. 4) When you feel alone, tempted, totally beat down and exhausted... remember the times that your testimony burned like fire. 5) A girl who fails to love people drastically different from herself, massively limits her own growth. A well rounded girl rooted in faith is a girl who changes the world 👊🏻 6) Starting over generates energy and commitment. Be courageous. Be brave and have faith. You are not starting over alone.

i’ve been a little slow recently with my instagram game but that’s because i’ve taken a couple days off and taken things a liiitttlleee bit slower. sometimes i feel like i should work more because i spend a lot of time at home (working). i don’t know why i do it but i’m always feeling like i should have been more productive even if i did a million things that day. this saturday jonah and i were on our way to vancouver for 2 shoots and a client meeting and i was thinking how i could have gotten more work done this passed week. then i replayed my week and realized between my photography and my other projects and part time stuff i worked 7 days straight 🤦🏽♀️ no wonder i was exhausted!! anyone else do this!?

This is why a day after session is an absolute must if you’re travelling to Ireland for your destination wedding!!!! Also I am getting more & more couples who are coming here on their honeymoon & having a session in their wedding clothes, this is such a great way to add some awesome images to the ones you got at your wedding. I know all the best vendors too so can save you the trouble & can hook you up with hair, make up & flowers etc. We will make this so amazing! .

I love shooting those amazing dresses! We had so much fun on this shoot, Scott & Laurie were missing the Texas heat a little but they were troopers and soldiered on through the cold! It’s always a privilege to have photographers ask me to shoot them, Laurie is an awesome photographer, you should go check out her work - @lauriecordrayphotography also it was great to team up with my pal @nigelivyfilm on this one!
