We’re still a teeny tiny bit away from ‘dressing’ the house, but I couldn’t resist playing around with a few bits and pieces. Had to do something to stop the monotony of painting!! 🤪 I do have plans for where I’ll be hanging these gorgeous old fashioned kitchen scissors from @lisavalentinehome but for now, they look rather sweet next to the eggs and my @deliciouslyella cook book! #housestyling#fedupofpainting
Bit windy out there! .
Had a whole weekend to myself and had plans to achieve lots, when actually I’ve managed to achieve very little except recharge my batteries which is an achievement in itself I guess!
Water running off the younger clay to make this Ochre in combination with the black London Clay. Really caught my eye on Walton Beach

No prizes for guessing that this wasn't taken today. Taken from the #wellsharbourtours boat in the marvellous company of @splashert. Brilliant sunlight on the sea is so invigorating and stimulating. Need to get me some soon. Beach Huts under the Pines. But then you knew that. .
I’m itching to show you some wide before and afters but truth is we’re still in diy mode! Sooo much to do (swipe left to see some of the mess! 🙈) but we’re getting there! So instead I thought I’d show you some small details; they say the devil’s in them! 😈 Just off the dining room is a little lean to, and we were worried about it being a bit drafty for evening around the dining table. One extra large French style curtain found on @ebay_uk and a wooden holdback from @dunelmuk and we have a gorgeous little detail like this! #lovedetails
Low tide = a very big mirror!
Margate has quickly grown to become one of the trendiest spots in the UK! With the famous Turner Contemporary Gallery, Shell Grotto and our 100 year old Scenic Railway, there’s plenty to do for everyone😍And you can’t beat views like this...
It's time to introduce a new artist on our feed - @tombutlerart is not as local as some of the other artist we got in touch with.. but maybe soon? In his touching introduction, he says his 'dream is to move to a coastal town somewhere in the south – maybe Devon or Cornwall. The idea of more space, clean air, beaches and a community feel really appeals. Plenty of inspiration too.' We couldn't agree with him more.
We find his wintery-gloomy-stormy Lyme piece to be a true stunner and it so fits the season and weather now. I particularly enjoy how he incorporates text in his images. Go check out his feed and website, inspiration guaranteed. I hope one day when we grow up 😁, we'll be able to hang one of his pieces in our cottage.
Thank you, Tom, for letting us share your post! 📸 @tombutlerart .
I read something this morning that made me realise what keeps me happy and smiling. I romanticise my life. I make a cup of coffee in the morning and savour it, like it’s the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. It’s gone in less than five minutes, but it’s these little daily rituals that count. I open the front door in my bare feet and step outside to drink in the view. I sing along to songs in the car every day, with my very best, loudest singing voice (I am utterly tone deaf.) It’s so easy to look at other people’s lives and think they seem perfect. The truth is that this is one of the hardest times of the year for me, I dread this period. I don’t wake up every morning feeling fantastic when my alarm goes off at 5:30. I make a conscious effort to be grateful, to look forward to the little things. The thought of a hot shower with my favourite scents filling the steamy air and a cup of delicious coffee propel me out of bed. I make these moments and when I get the chance to whisk myself off somewhere that’s going to fill my heart with happiness, I do it. The last thing I felt like doing this morning was driving an hour to the coast, but I did, and it was worth every second spent in the car. Self care isn’t buying into products and potions, it’s finding the happiness in your day to day. The mundane and the ordinary is what fills most of our days, but when those small things are exciting and you really take pleasure from them, that’s when you really start living.

Just a few more days of January to see in. I’n clinging to every extra minute of daylight at the moment. Lovely to see some past 5 on clear days. Roll on the Spring!
